Got a message when looking through images of things on google when I looked up a picture a suspected malware site warning poped up. Should I be concerned or do anything about it. I dont know if theres a disk clean up or not for macs.

Safari 4 seems to provide a warning when Google has tagged a website with potential Malware. I don't know if this Malware is Mac or PC but thought it was interesting. I've attached a screenshot to see what I mean.
I just downloaded Safari Version 5.0.1 (5533.17.8) and now when I try to visit a trusted work site I am blocked by a suspected malware warning. If I click ignore and then try to re-open the site the malware warning returns. If I use firefox I am able to log in without a problem. Any way to get rid of this warning?

I have read a few posts, but they have not been super helpful. I called my host company, they see nothing wrong, I looked at the coding, of which I am not an expert, and found nothing wrong.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone can help me with this, but for the past week or so, I've been getting weird popups when going to sites like nytimes.com, macrumors.com, cnet.com, google.com, and other perfectly safe sites that say something along the lines of "This site may harm your computer." And then when I click "Ignore" I get another popup that says are you sure, and I can't get out of the popup, and then I have to quit Safari.
I'm wondering if I have some kind of trojan or something like that. I'll get a screenshot next time it happens.
I'm getting a page showing this warning when viewing a website in Safari. Doesn't happen in any other browser.
The site is owned by a business that I know to be legitimate.
Both Google results and Safari warn that contains malicious software. Does the warning dialog appear for you too?
Google Safe Browsing Diagnostics reveals this: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/d...erss.com/blog/ which leads me to believe that third-party advertisers may be responsible for this. The developer David Watanabe is very well respected which is why this warning came as surprise.
Curiosity got the better of me and I browsed at my own risk, now I am extremely paranoid. Here's hoping it's one of those 'Windows things'.
I'm running OS 10.5.8 and using Firefox 3.5.7. When I Google something and click a result, 75% of the time I am redirected somewhere that was not the destination of the link. Other times I'll click a link and a giant white browser window will open behind current window taking up my whole screen. Another frequent occurrence is being directed to the site "theclickcheck". I have a registered version of MacScan and it comes up with nothing and my software is up to date. Where do I go from here?

I run Safari Version 4.0.2 (5530.19) and I don't do a ton of surfing, just a couple of sites that I visit regularly. Is there any kind of spyware that attacks Macs? Do I need to be on top of that? The other day one of the sites I regularly visit got hit by a hacker and my browser said Malware detected and wouldn't go to the site.
Also, I think my wireless router hates my MacBook. It boots me offline with alarming regularity. Tried to upgrade to a so called "better" router but still had the same problem. Its an easy fix (just unplug till it resets) but its a real PITA as the router is in the basement. Is there any router that doesn't do this with Macs or do I just need to suck it up? And finally is there anything I can download that will remove ads on Safari? I love the adblocker feature on Firefox, but don't use Firefox on here.
every time i open a site and click something it will direct me to a new site. this happens everytime without fail.. (on every site)Â also my web cam. I have deleted a load of stuff and randon apps iv have downloaded. i have change some internet setting but still nothing happens. seem to be ever since i down loaded the new update. Â

At first I suspected file system damage, so I backed up important data, and did an erase and install, and just reinstalled Final Cut Studio, leaving the backup on an external. But I am still getting some of the same problems, one hard drive will take up to 30 minutes to mount, it can't be backed up (carbon copy cloner fails saying either bad filesystem or bad drive, and just copy and pasting fails). Sometimes, using the Find command in Finder will not return any results. I am on Tiger 10.4.11, all the latest patches.

A week ago my Mac stalled, wouldn't even go passed the startup point. I booted from disk and did all the stuff you have to do before I resigned to failure and deleted my hardrive and reinstalled the OS.
Good news is, Mac is back, working perfectly.
I use IWeb to make my site with no problem. however now I'm doing another site and can't publish it (the new site). I've tried to erase my site from "sites" but cannot publish the other site!

The screen just goes black and I have to press and hold the power button for a while till a hear a sound to turn the system off. This is happening like, more than 5 times a DAY.

Last night my macbook air turned off without warning and wouldn't turn back on until I tried again this morning. A few weeks ago I had my battery and logic board replaced and since then it the screen has gone blue for a few seconds and then back to normal a few times, (in case this is related at all). I replaced the battery in my MBP which wouldn't charge or run for more than 1 hour. Now, with the new battery, I have 2 issues:
1--battery status in menu bar does not change. It shows it's at 28% all the time
2--I not longer get a warning that my battery is about to run out.Â
This is a drag since the computer keeps going to sleep on me because it's run out of juice unbeknownst to me.Â

Using Firefox 13.0 and 13.01 Have a vague recollection of doing an update of Flash or Java but am not certain.I've been reading a lot of info around this problem- none of it describes the exact problem I am having.
1. Suddenly I am unable to get Google.I click Google in the search bar (upper right in firefox window)or type it into the address bar and it just hangs.May connect after a very, very long time. Also... many websites will not stop loading unless I click the X in the address bar.Yahoo (which I had never used until now) comes up quickly.
2.I did the security update.The next time I used Google, it opened quickly.Did searches. Back to normal.
Or so I thought.
3.Within a couple of hours, was back to previous behaviour even if I get to the Google home page, it will not do a search.
4.Repeated all of the above with Safari. Same story.
5.Have checked with Activity monitor with Thomas Reed's malware list -
and can not see anything that seems to co-relate.

I have an Apple laptop (MacBook Pro late 2011). Lately, ads have been popping out all over the place everytime I click my mouse to move to another webpage or even within a webpage. Sometimes, the popups open first than the page I wanted. I know this is malware but I don't know to how get rid of them. Since Safari is my browser, everytime the popups become unbearable I would go to the Preferences and delete the cookies....And start all over again. I've called the Apple Support once and they didn't notice anything wrong with my hardware. It's this malware attached to certain programs or sites....

I keep getting this warning that my disk is full, I am unable to download updates and even songs from iTunes. Also in the finder I apparently do not have any files because the my files section is blank. i have cleaned up the download folder and emptied the trash as well as performed a diskrepair. I have a late 2006 MacBookPro, OSX10.5.8 . The machine will run fine on battrey power to a bout %50 or %60 and then just completely shut down. No going down to %20 or %30 and a warning etc ... This has only started happening in the last month or so. The battery is about a year and a half old, 198 cycles and shows about 3200mAh at full charge. I do understand the batteries in these things are only good for a bout 300 cycles. What I don't get is th lack of warning of any kind.

I have some kind of malware present on my MacBook Air from trying to download a "flash player". I get full page pop-up ads for "mackeeper" and the like nearly every time I click on a link, have annoying ads on pages that I know weren't there before I downloaded this "program", and am now seeing other pop-up ads. As soon as I downloaded this program, my search engine changed to "Conduit". What can I do to get rid of this?
