i need to program. So, today I need to compile my program. When I printf in Terminal gcc -o main main.c I looked a massage "command gcc not found", I dont`t no what is that, because I dont`t share any system files.

I want to build a redboot kernel in a wireless router, the command required from my newly acquired knowledge is insmod and modprobe.
However from the mac 10.5.8 terminal it says that the command is not found. I have installed gcc , sdk compiler support and enabled the super user as well.

I can use the Control>C command to quit that and return to normal. But it's a waste of time and I can't seem to figure it out. A Genius Bar Genius said to Archive and Install, but I don't think it's necessary. I just want to know how I can find whatever it is that's screwing it up.
I'm trying to access some files that are available through CVS in my boss' computer.
The problem I'm having is that everytime I try the CVS command I get the same -bash: cvs: command not found response. I've also noticed that the which command does not show any response:
ME-MBP-2008:/ me$ which cvs

I've found the CVS stuff inside XCode.app folder (XCode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/cvs) but the terminal still seems to not be able to find the cvs command.

I installed Skim to read PDF files in Mac, but if I write in the shell which skim or where is skim there is nothing. Then I guess there is no command called skim. My point is to create it, but I don't know how, can anyone help on this? How can I create a command? Then I'm using Kile and it gives me the following error:
/bin/bash skim command not found
I guess if I define the command this error wont appear.
I'm using Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
whenever I try almost any command at Terminal, I come across an annoying message like:
-bash: unzip: command not found
this is a sample for i tried unzip, but it happens for so many other command as well
so what is that? do I need to install anything to make terminal work with these commands?
It happens all the time, and I don't know how to make YouTube work. What can I do?

That's happened before. Nope. Now I can't seem to find the current library file. Also, strangely, these files were in the trash:

I am on a ship using a proxy server from our ISP to connect to the internet via a V-SAT satalite dome. We all have individual accounts and the guys using PC's have no problems connecting to the internet. My account also works on a P.C. However whenever i try to connect to the internet I get an Error message 403 "the following URL could not be found" "access denied". However if I disable my proxy settings reconnect to the internet then re-enable my proxy settings I am able to get on line but only for a minute or two then I get the message again. Switching off my proxies then on again always gets me on line but only for a very short period (30 secs to a minute ish).
There has been an occasional time when I have been able to access the internet for longer but only when there has been 3 or 4 people on line and browsing at the same time. I have spoken to my ISP and he thinks I may have been piggy backing onto someone elses account but was unable to offer any other advice and referred my case to someone else and I am still waiting for their response. I am running a mac book pro on snow leopard 10.6.4, using firefox (have the same problem with Safari) with proxy set to "use system settings" and my network preferences set with the given proxy server settings (192.168.10.132, port 3128). I have the same problems using WiFi or cable also.
Other info: my IP address stays the same. Although my cable IP is different from my wifi address. IPv6 is set to automatic. I think the problem lies with my mac as my given user account works on PC computers ( which I am using now!). Also there are 3 other guys with mac books who have also had the same problems although they are now at home. I have also tried changing to a guest account with similar problems although I cannot change proxy settings.
When I attempt to songs in itunes on my computer I get an error message that says: "The song < Name of Song Here> could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" All the songs are listed but can not access them.

Have approx 1300 songs only 60 are accessible. Songs are not available on my Itouch. Itouch syncs but no songs there. Issue happened on 2/25 after my wife bought a song from iStore.
After I moved my iTunes media and library back from an external drive back to my new laptop (with a larger drive), I can't open iTunes. I get this message "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the iTunes folder in the "Music" folder. The only option it gives is to click "OK" and iTunes shuts down. I tried reinstalling iTunes but the problem persists. I've checked and my iTunes Library.itl file is in its proper location.

I am very upset and am ready to buy a different computer for my personal use than my iMac 20". I am running OS X 10.5.6 and it's a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and the 320 GB HD. My DVD/CD won't accept/load the CD/DVD at all and the real kicker of it is is that the machine JUST went off warranty. I think the CD/DVD is the Mitsubishi one. Any help would be GREAT.
I have been getting the error message:
There was an initialization error.
A valid DVD drive could not be found [-70012].
I have tried to reset the parameters.
I have tried to restart the computer and then wait for a few moments.
I have tried to use the hold the mouse down and restart.
I downloaded the Tray Eject applescript and don't know how to run that.
I have NOT tried the shut off and unplug everything but will and see if that works.
The backup disk image 'Volumes/Data/John's iMac.sparsebundle' could not be accessed(error-1).
Have tried remounting Time capsule in preferences. Have run Disc utility to verify 'Time Machine Backups'. Sparsebundle is greyed out in Disc Utility.
Time capsule has 1.37Gb free space and is connected via wireless and has a wireless express as a client. Would deleting the last back up be of assistance assuming corruption?
Every time I try loging on to youtube I get an error message "404 Not Found" also when I try opening Yahoo it says "Sorry, the page you requested was not found."

We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

This first time problem has persisted since the most recent Apple updates. I have a 24" Mac w/Lion 10.7.4 Whether I use Safari, Camino, Firefox or Opera eventually I get a "server can't be found" message when attempting to open a site ( including Apple, blogs,newspapers, etc). This error isn't consistent. not always the same site won't open ... sometimes I'll get the 'can't be found message', then after opening other sites and returning to the can't open site ... it opens. Also, mail, especially those from businesses, will open but any pics, drawings, etc. aren't there, just a small box with a question mark. Again, this is erratic problem and doesn’t happen every time I open mail. I visited an Apple Genius and she said it was a network issue, then removed a folder named, "CaptiveNetworkSupport" and 9 files ... including a preference.plist, com.apple.Boot.plist, NetworkInterfaces.plist, etc. The Genius said the problem was fixed ... but returning home, I reconnected everything and the original problem is still exists.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the new base model 13-inch MacBook Pro, which was running perfectly until yesterday. Yesterday, the machine ran out of battery power and went into safe sleep. When I plugged in the power cord and woke it up, the bluetooth symbol in the menu bar had a jagged line through it. On restart, the bluetooth symbol had simply disappeared, and system profiler is showing bluetooth as "No information found.". I have had this problem before with a 2006 macbook, but it was solved by a restart. On searching the web I have found a number of suggested solutions, each of which I have tried: resetting PRAM, resetting SMC, deleting various bluetooth preferences, reinstalling OS X. None of these suggested solutions have worked.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've a Macbook that was running Tiger. The other day it froze, and on restart it couldn't find the startup disk. Tried to run Disk Utility but it didn't even see the disk. I tried the disk in a cradle on another computer but it wouldn't work.
So, I reasoned it was a fault with the drive. Bought a new Hitachi drive. Put it in the Macbook. Started the install but exactly the same problem - the disk is not to be seen, not by the installer, not by Disk Utility, not in System Profiler.
I ran the Apple Hardware Test and chose the extended one with looping. Ran it for hours. It says that it can't find a problem.
