MacBook Pro :: Projecting 2 Different Screens Simultaneously - Possible?
May 10, 2012
Is it possible to project 2 different screens (not mirrors) and have the presenter display with both on the LCD with Keynote? I am using a MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT) and Keynote '09.
Info:
MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.3), Keynote 09
Hoping for some help with this I would like to use my macbook and a Dell monitor simultaneously controlled through an external keyboard/mouse. What do I need to set this up?
I want to double the amount of "screen space" and use a keyboard and mouse for both.
I run Microsoft OneNote side by side with some mac Apps and often find my self switching between the apps using Leopard spaces on my MBA which is annoying. I want to be able set an external LCD and assign that solely to OneNote, and simultaneously be able to access my OSX apps on my MBA's LCD. So each OS platform has its own window.
I have a macbook with osx lion, fully updated, and I work with two screens on my workplace. The problem is that when I turn any aplication to full screen, I can`t use the other screen, because the full screen mode uses the desktop of both screens.
i have a macbook pro 17 that i found the bottom cover is missing. all i know is that the cd/dvd drive was manufactured in 2010. wanting to know if parts are interchangeable between years?Message was edited by: 3noa maybe i should have made myself more clear i found it after it had been thrown out.
What is the Difference between an lcd screen for a Macbook pro 15 A1150 and an A1226? I need to know if I have to buy a A1150 LCD replacement or will any macbook pro 15.4 screen work as long as it is a TFT LCD 1440 by 900. I know the LED screens won't work. The A1226 screens seem more common and easier to find. My model of Macbook is a A1150/MA464LL/A 2.0GHZ.
i've been reading about these screen threads, that some of the new macbooks have faulty screens or display, it got me worried because i purchased a new 13" macbook pro ..how would i know if mine is faulty or not ?
had to get a dvi to make my older screen work. now when I close the powerbook. and start up it defaults to my power book. will not turn on my screen. Called Apple and did the display screen mode and it can not find it? but will work about every other week?
my friend has a macbook and the screen is cracked. Apple wants $800 to fix, so its not worth that route (its a older macbook). I was wondering if there is a site that has DIY kits for replacing macbook screens? I know they have them for iphones, so I just wanted to see if they had something similar for macbooks.
I'm debating on whether to get a Macbook or Pro, but what's holding me me back is screen quality and resolution. Is the Macbook screen good enough for movies? Does anyone have any pictures comparing it to the Macbook Pro?
So I bought my MacBook a year ago and I just bought cords for my laptop to my TV. I bought a Mini DisplayPort to DVI cord than an Xtreme HD cord thats DVI to HDMI. For some reason however I can't get the sound to play off of my TV no matter what, it only plays on my laptop and I was told it would be able to just fine, however for me thats not the case. Second when I link the two screens up together my TV will just have the Background no icon's or anything just the plain simple background. Once I click "Mirror Screens" then my laptop screen is completely small for me and my TV one is just fine, but when I open applications b/c my laptop screen is so small like the "Play" button for movies is nearly impossible to hit because its right behind the dock.
So my questions are: How do I get sound out of my Mini DisplayPort to DVI & DVI to HDMI cord instead of buying an audio cord from laptop to TV.
How can I mirror screens correctly to keep the same size on my laptop screen for when I open things they aren't smushed or hard to play.
what the safest method for cleaning the anti-glare screens is on the unibodies. On my glossy a simple damp lint-free cloth works perfectly, but I have a feeling that over time that method of cleaning may actually rub/ruin the antiglare surface, so I'm a bit worried.
I recently received my CTO MacBook Pro this afternoon, and I was wondering if Apple has applied an adhesive clear plastic sheet over the new MacBook Pro's display intended to be peeled off. Mine looks as though there may be one to peel off, but I want to make sure before putting too much effort into trying to get it off... Anyone else peel one of these of their new MacBook Pro?
On my macbook pro, when I'm on my home screen I can use my tracking pad to flip my screen to a screen that displays all of my widgets. Is it possible to flip to a third display screen to place documents on?
Let's start a thread of damaged but working MBPs! I'm sure this has been done before, but let's start a new one. Cracked, dented, damaged screens... Let's see some pics. Who has the worst damaged but working MBP?
I have dual diaplay's through HDMI, and use this to play dvd's. What I want to do is use the Macbook for other uses and have the sound comming through the macbook, wilst not affecting the sound from the movie being played through the HDMI out put. Currently in the settings for sound outup, all audio will either go through one of the options. How do I split the sound output per program.
I converted a Blu Ray movie and played it on my Mac. I'm actually super impressed how amazing it looks. Full HD movies is the way to go for certain. How does the screen of the MBP compare to the desktop screens and Full HD TV's?
what the weight difference is, for the 15" model? I expect the glossy one is heavier because of the glass. I suppose there might be a small difference between the low-res and high-res screens, to.
My friend has been having trouble with his 15 inch, early 2011 macbook pro. He is running OS X 10.9.4
It seems to work great until he streams media or connects to his school email.
I've taken a picture of what the screen looks like when it last froze while he checked his email:
Shortly after this, he had trouble booting the macbook back up. He would see either a blue screen with light and dark blue vertical lines. He would also boot up the computer and it would be stuck on the white loading screen without the apple logo.
I also have the console logs for the past few bootups:
1. MAC OS X iAtkos 10.5.7 updated to the latest version. 2. GygaByte GA-EP43-DS3L 3. nVidia GeForce 8500 GT 256 Mb 4. Nec AccuSync LCD 223WM (LCD 23 ") 5. LaCie Electron 22 Blue IV (CRT 22 ")
Problem: When connected to two monitors, one of them displays a welcome screen, and then both turned off.
I want to hook up two external webcams to a Macbook or an iMac and be able to display a live view of both camera images at the same time.
It doesn't matter if the live view is a single app showing both cameras or two separate windows, as long as both images can be viewed simultaneously on the desktop.
Can anyone recommend the hardware (webcams) and software I would need to accomplish this?
One of the biggest reasons why I didn't go for the unibody mbp is because the screen is very loose in my opinion. So loose that when you orient the laptop more than 50-60 degrees vertically, the screen will automatically start folding on itself (which it then stops when the screen reaches a 30~ish degree difference from the bottom)
I like to use my laptop a lot in bed so it is one the biggest gripes. Have Apple come to their senses and tightened the screen?
Ironically, the Apple store representative gave me the biggest BS excuse for this, they told me it was so that the laptop would not lift if you open the screen up.
That is great *BUT* the screen actually gets STIFFER as you move it more towards the base rather than looser which it should be. It's loose from about 30-110 degree, and then from the 0 to 30 degree it's pretty stiff, enough to laughably lift the device. I showed how stupid his logic was by showing him this problem on one of the devices at the store and he's like, well I don't know then.
Anyone with the latest unibody can attest to any change? This isn't a singular problem as I've found it on every single 15 inch macbook pro.
Oh I forgot to mention, this problem only affects the 15inch and maybe 17inch mbp (I haven't tested it on the 17 so I wouldn't know)
