Sep 9, 2010my keyboard doesn't work in any online flash and java games.
The trackpad works fine, and all the volume, brightness, dashboard, etc buttons do work.

Aug 6, 2007I got my macbook pro 2 weeks ago and I installed java 1.4 release 5, the latest apple has, but when I went to yahoo or pogo to play games, it never loads and pogo shows an error window saying it might not be installed or something. I am sure its installed and my browsers (safari and firefox) enable it, plus all firewall are off but I still cant play java games.

Apr 15, 2012I made a Java applet with Xcode 3.2 and i load it to firefox or Safari(Yeah i've updated my java)and for example
i made a HELLO WORLD simple applet to be in black color letters, then compiled and yeah it worked but then i redid it for the letters to be red.. and they kept being black..no matter how many times i recompiled the applet.
And yeah the HTML is pointing to the correct class file. Also, If if i add a Thread and implement runnable.. then nothing shows up in the canvas.
And also, what ever happened with the appletviewer application? We don't have that anymore.
now the only way to run applets is through a web browser. Is java applet developement in 10.6 really over?

MacBook Pro :: Why Does Run So Slow On Flash Games
Sep 7, 2010I have recently purchased a second hand MBP from a friend, its one of the older models with the silver keyboard, has 2.33 GHz intel core duo processor, 2GB ram, 160GB HD and runs fine. I have one problem though, when I load flash games or when I try to play a flash game it slows right down and runs slower than crawling speed. Is there any way I can speed it up or will it always be like this?

Nov 19, 2010Not sure why, but during the last couple of days flash games have been lagging on my 13" MBP to the extreme. My MBP has 4GB of RAM and was built in late 2009. It has only been doing this for the last couple of days. Before that flash games were fine, no lag at all. But recently they lag even when I've just started playing. Right from square one.

d) Brightness at 70% / with keyboard backlight / Bluetooth OFF
Questions: (Can you give me an estimate on the following)
1) How long will the battery last if I play Facebook games nonstop (poker / mafia wars / cafe world / etc.)
2) How long will the battery last if I play Sims3 nonstop?
3) How long will the battery last if I watch a DVD movie nonstop? (from the drive)
4) How long will the battery last if I type documents nonstop?
BTW, can this MBP 13" play sims3 in the default normal settings?

Dec 9, 2014I have an application that requires Java. I had upgraded to the Yosemite OS. I installed Java 6 as required for the app. However, it seems some functions in my app still don't work. So, my question is does Java 6 work with Yosemite? I had no problems with Maverick OS.

Nov 23, 2009I have a Macbook 2.4ghz core 2 duo running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and I've been having massive problems when uploading files both on a Wireless and LAN connection. When I try and upload to a site like myspace, facebook or anyother site with uploading options my upload times out and/or crashes the browser for a while (this is for larger files whereas photos don't upload in full). This seems to be primarily with flash/java upload options and happens when using Safari, Firefox and Opera. So far I've re-installed 10.6.2 and repaired disk permissions and also re-installed flash and none of these options makes any difference. I know it's not a network issue as it works perfectly on my 1ghz e-mac running Leopard Anyone got any solutions? It's completely baffled me.

Mar 7, 2008 I just recently purchased a Macbook Pro for my college major this year. I had a PC before it, but it crashed and I dont want to have to buy another one since I already payed $2000+ for the Macbook Pro. I have a few PC games that I would still like to play.
So I used Boot Camp to put Windows Vista on my Mac then installed the games to it. The three games I put on Vista were Half-Life, The Longest Journey and Grim Fandango. So after installing each of them I tried to play them to make sure they worked. Both Grim Fandango and The Longest Journey started to load the game but were interrupted with an error message, not allowing me to play. Half-Life on the other hand loads and plays perfectly.
So my question is, is there some way for me to play the two games that didnt work? If so how can I get them to work. The only reason I put Vista on was so I could play those games. And if I cant get them to work I'm probably just gonna take Vista off of my Mac.

Sep 2, 2009When launching a java app from within eclipse (run/debug) that doesn't have a gui the firewall dialog (allow/deny) pops up and then just disappear leaving the app blocked for incoming connections. This was introduced in snow leopard and worked fine in leopard. Has anyone found a solution for this other than the radical of turning off the firewall all together?

When I went to watch a video online, it said that FlashPlayer wasn't installed, so I installed the latest version on the adobe website, but it still says that there's a missing plug-in. Flash player was working fine on my air, and all my software is up to date.
