Jun 26, 2014My MacBook Air (2013 model, 1.3 Ghz Intel Core i5, 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3, OS X Version 10.9.2) which I received less than a week ago was working fine. Until last night. My latop will now not connect to ANY wifi networks. It's sees the networks but when I try to manually join one it says "The wifi network ... could not be joined" when I then run diagnostics it says "Wifi not associated" and "review wifi best practices".

Apr 28, 2012I have no trouble using WiFi at home. But when I connect my new MacBook Pro to WiFi networks at cafes, airports, and hotels, I can connect and a page or two will load without a problem. But a minute or two later, the WiFi signal appears to be fine but no pages will load and e-mail messages can't be sent or received.
If I turn WiFi off and reconnect to the same network, I can load another page or two and then it quits working. I don't have this problem when connecting to the same networks on my iPhone, so I'm assuming there's a problem with my computer or its settings.

Apr 12, 2012I made the mistake of upgrading (funny word for what I got) to Lion, and ever since, I've had numerous issues with my trusty MacBookPro (2008, 2.4 ghz, 17"). The latest problem has been severly annoying though, and I just would like to see if any of you have some tips I could try out. Basically, every single time I close down the lid to put my computer to sleep, or even after it goes to sleep on it's own, when I go to wake my computer, it no longer is connected to my wi-fi network, and for a period of 2-5 minutes, is acts like it is searching for networks. When this exercise is over, I can use the pull down menu brought up by clicking on the wifi icon to select my network and the computer re-connects. I saw that Apple released an update for 2011 MacBookPro's that had this same issue, and this made the problem even more irritating to me since they failed to address those of us who have older computers that have the same issue. I have tried erasing all known network in the network preferences window using the plus and minus buttons, and then re-adding my network. That didn't work.

Oct 28, 2010I just installed a new AirPort card into my 2006 Mac Pro and it showed up just fine and I was looking forward to getting it online without using iPhone-tethering. BUT, I just can't get it to find any networks? What might be the problem? I've googled, rebooted, updated my drivers etc etc.

Jan 12, 2011Recently, my MacBook (purchased summer of 2007 and running Snow Leopard) stopped connecting to the internet wirelessly. It can connect to the net via ethernet. And it can connect to networks and other computers wirelessly to exchange files, but not to connect to the internet through them. It backs up to my Time Capsule wirelessly without a hitch. This seems like a software problem, not a hardware problem, to me. Why I can't get internet access wirelessly?

Jul 24, 2009Just bought a 23" dell monitor and BT keyboard (already have wireless Logitech mouse) to use with my late 2008 MBP.
Almost immediately I noticed I was getting frequent 'Connection to Keyboard lost' errors, almost 100% of the time this happens the Wifi is under heavy use moving large files to my NAS for example.
I searched Apple support and this appears to be quite common and 1 suggestion was to change my airport extreme base station to use 5GHz instead of 2.4GHz for the network. This tweak seems to have solve the issue 100%, the only downside is not all of my kit can use 5GHz .. for my work laptop I've invested in a new wifi adapter that'll cope but my Apple TV and iPhone can no longer connect to the WLAN.
Anyone else have an alternative solution for this? Or is it pure and simple down to BT interference and I should perhaps ditch the BT keyboard for a wired one?

Jun 4, 2014I downloaded hotspot shield and immediately my internet stopped working. Wifi still connects to every available wifi. Every other device can connect without an issue. I deleted hotspot shield from applications and the problem persists. When i delete then re-add wifi in network settings it temporarily says no ip.

Apr 15, 2012I am able to access my Windows 7 machine's shares on my Mac (Lion 10.7.3) through SMB with no problems at all. However, I am unable to access my Mac's shares on my Windows machine.
I have been fighting with this issue for hours and haven't found a solution yet. I've done a bunch of Googling and have found plenty of posts related to my issue, but no solutions. Everyone seems to be at least receiving a login prompt when they try to connect to a Mac OS X Lion Samba share from a Windows 7 machine, but I am not. All I get is "Windows cannot connect to \MAC" after ~15-20 seconds of waiting.
Here's what I've tried:Reconfigured all of my settings on both the Windows and Mac systems, then restarted. Windows: set to 40- and 56-bit encryption for File Sharing, instead of 128-bit.Windows: network discovery and file sharing enabled.Windows: Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level to Send NTMLv2 response only” to “Send LM & NTLM – use NTLMv2 session if negotiated as suggested in another post.Windows: verified workgroup as WORKGROUP.Windows: verified Windows Firewall options for File Sharing.Windows: cleared credentials for my Mac's share in the Credential Manager, still no login prompt.Windows: reinserted my Mac's credentials in Credential Manager for the share, same issue. Nov 7, 2009I have a 13" MBP running 10.5.8 My wifi works fine everywhere except for my school.
The airport connects, has full "signal" and it seems to assign an ip. BUT when i open firefox or safari the redirect/authentication page that is supposed to open never does; instead i get "page not found" or its equivalent. So i can't login or access the internet obviously.
Here is the other part, there are about 40 or so macbooks in every class I have running leopard and snow leopard and no one else seems to have a problem.

How can i get it to login once it connects to the wifi (i do use other wifi connections which dont require login). There is no wifi password (just the login page). Other than for ease of use, the other reason i am doing this is because i am setting up my cam to take pictures of a thief if my mac were to be stolen (then upload to ftp). The more auto connected internet - the better.

It lets me type in my username, but when I try to type my password no characters show up, and it won't let me log in due to incorrect login information. Since everyone except me, the owner, has no access, there is no other login screen and it's just blank until I restart the computer and get the black screen over again. What do I do? Aug 17, 2009I almost upgraded my 10.5.8 after all the reports of how stable/fast 10A432 is. Now I am glad that I didn't - after installing on an external partition and booting up (and migrating my settings and apps), there is a big Wifi problem. SL sees the network and connects to it, gets an IP, however I cannot access anything on the internet, nor ping any sites from Terminal. When I boot back into 10.5.8 it works. Sep 20, 2009I have had my MacBook for 6 months and it has worked just great with my WiFi network and any other WiFi I have happened to connect it to. This morning, while I was downloading some files, my internet connection died on me. At 1st I thought it was my provider and I usually fix that by restarting my Router. I did that, but nothing happened. I could detect and connect to my WiFi but I had no internet access! My wife's PC and mobile phone connect perfectly well to my WiFi and so does my iPhone!!! My MacBook now only works with Ethernet. Let me add that I have the 13.3" MacBook unibody running the latest Leopard 10.5.8. software upgrades.
