I am trying to access websites like facebook, gmail and other websites that need a login and password. I think it is a problem with my Wifi configuration, is there a way that I can reset my configuration?

I am trying to get one password for all of my online passwords. Currently I just use the same password for all of my logins, but I was told that was a terrible idea. I would like to get keychain to create randomized passwords for all of my online logins and then I can simply enter the one keychain password everytime that i need login to something online. So I guess my goal would be for Keychain to act as the middleman, does it have that function?

I've been experiencing this for over a month now. Basically, occasionally when logging into a website (i.e. google, designers.mx, amazon, etc. -- really doesn't matter what site it seems), Lion will entirely freeze up for seconds to up to minutes. More specifically it occurs when tabbing from the username to the password field. This will happen both in Chrome and Firefox. I had thought it was related to maybe firefox add-ons (i.e. I have 1password, but i've disabled them and have had it still happen. I do use firebug, but wouldn't think it was related to this issue..I've already verified there are no issues in the keychain access as well.I can sometimes unfreeze momentarily it by pressing the power button briefly.

There are a couple of websites I want to restrict my younger children from. I tried to enter them in the parental controls in System Preferences using the "Try to limit access to adult websties automatically" option, and entering the sites I wanted to restrict them from. What I got was kids asking me every five seconds to approve another website - it seems that only sites on the approved list under Customize were allowed. That isn't what I wanted. I wanted only to enter two or three sites that they are specifically precluded from.

I am able to access my Windows 7 machine's shares on my Mac (Lion 10.7.3) through SMB with no problems at all. However, I am unable to access my Mac's shares on my Windows machine.
I have been fighting with this issue for hours and haven't found a solution yet. I've done a bunch of Googling and have found plenty of posts related to my issue, but no solutions. Everyone seems to be at least receiving a login prompt when they try to connect to a Mac OS X Lion Samba share from a Windows 7 machine, but I am not. All I get is "Windows cannot connect to \MAC" after ~15-20 seconds of waiting.
Here's what I've tried:Reconfigured all of my settings on both the Windows and Mac systems, then restarted. I re-installed lion on my new mini to get to Setup Assistant to transfer files from my older iMac. The transfer went well, I think. However, I cannot login. I have tried no password (the way the old iMac was set up). I have tried every password that I can think of including my Apple ID password. I did not set up any password for the new computer, but it did offer a hint for a password that it wiil not accept. How in the world did it come up with a password with out my consent? and how can I access my new computer?

My father who is 91 purchased an iMac in January used it once. He is now just setting it up again after he has recently moved and this will be his only computer… finally getting rid of the PC world of Bill Gates and into a real computer. However, he has forgotten the login password at start-up which was set-up at the Apple Store. Can I reboot the machine with a CD (have one for Snow Leopard) and change administration details this way even though is running OS X Lion?

My password to a certain site changed, and Safari wouldn't remember the new password; it maintained the old one. So I went in to Safari preferences and removed the site from the list. Now, I can't get Safari to remember the username or the password. I exited Safari and went back to the site again, but the login boxes were empty. How to correct this?

My son is using my old macbook pro 13-inch and he went to login using the correct security info but keeps getting denied. and clicking the question mark only leads to the computer recommending the very same password that he is using with no other options to request a change password option. the computer may still be running mountain lion, though possibly mavericks. definitely not yosemite.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just literally updated my macbook pro to the latest version of Lion, today 4/3/12 and now it's just stuck on the main log in page for lion. As in, I type in my password, it thinks for two seconds, goes black, and has the log in page again. It just loops. No end in site.I've rebooted in safe mode, run disk utitily, and repaired the disk... but no dice, still. It repairs the disk, fine right? When I reboot in regular mode, it just goes back to the password/login screen loop.

Hi! Im new to the forums but i really need help with something and i was hoping someone here could help me out. So I just installed Tech Tool Deluxe onto my macbook and then shut it down later. I went back to use it again and when i turned it on a login screen appeared asking me to put in my password. I did that and the screen turned blue (looking like it was loading) and then went back to the login screen. Every time i put in my password it just takes me back to the login screen. View 1 Replies View RelatedOne day I could log in to any site using firefox, the next I couldn't log into anything. I type the password and username, when I click on "log in" nothing happens. It says "done" at the bottom left, but nothing has happened. Safari works fine. I would just get by, however after creating a website in IWeb I discovered anything FTP related will not work.
I have tried lots of different FTP clients such as (Transmit, cyber duck, firezilla, cross ftp) but nothing works. The passwords etc are all correct as they work on my mac at work. The only change I've made is installing little snitch, however nothing is restricted related with anything that would affect the current problem. I have tried usual suspects such as deleting cookie, erasing private data etc.

I have a mac mini and macbook pro. As you will see, the issues are complex. I spoke to both Apple and my server many times: all determined to help solve the issue as a technical problem, but rather complacent about the strong possibility of new malware. Both ended up basically with 'dunno'. Needless to say, I backup regularly via time machine. These probs represent the downside! My workplace techs said one was probably flashback (dealt with as per apple advice), the other like dnschanger - but a new and more invidious version. I'm probably giving away too much information, but it's a bit late to worry about that.
Both did different things AT THE SAME TIME, with the same sites. Therefore, it was definitely not a server issue. Both were consistent.I've had odd behaviour: redirect included bypassing my proxy server and going online despite not putting in login details, and after logging in: in both instances, I was taken to Wikipedia front page. Also:Many times, lists of links instead of genuine front pages: Apple and server. Only 'big names' seemed affected. Other times, it looked ok but when I clicked on links I got nothing. I've created a few PHP websites on my mac mini before uploading them. I placed the website files in the 'Sites' folder of my user account and turned on 'Personal Web Sharing' in the Sharing preferences and could access them fine. All of a sudden, I can no longer access the sites through my web browser - I'm given the message that my browser cannot connect to the server. Any ideas why this might have suddenly started happening? I installed MySQL last week - would that affect it in any way?!

I can not access some sites such as [URL] or [URL] I have tried to use multiple browsers using both wireless and ethernet. I have changed the DNS servers to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. All to no avail. I can access those sites using Windows via Bootcamp as well as on another laptop connected to the same network.
When trying to connect to certain websites I get the page stating that it can't connect to the server.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to maintain security, but still be able to access websites?
I am new to Mac and have been struggling with this issue for the last week or so: there are a few websites I cannot access anymore (such as www.westpac.com.au, www.telstra.com.au, www.optus.com.au and a few others). As far as I can guess it is not:strictly *.au website related (or at least I think) because I can access some others *.au websites and some other in *.com or *.fr don't work either. My ISP (iinet in Australia) as the websites mentioned above work from my PC when I connect it from home. Below the result from a PING on the first 2 websites in the list above:

I have this issue from both my iMac and my Macbook Air, on which I have set up no firewall or other specific filter. I am using a Belkin modem, on which I have desactivated the WiFi to use a TimeCapsule as a WiFi router. I get the same issue when I try to connect from Safari, Firefox or Chrome. I have exhausted all tips and tricks I have from the PC word.
I cannot access google and a few other websites. Could this be a virus? The google search bar on safari doesnt work either. I am on admin account so parental control is out as well.
