OS X :: Mac Mini Server Can Also Serves As A Wifi Router?
Jun 7, 2010I just bought a snow leopard mac mini server, everything came as a bundle pretty nice. The snow leopard server software preinstalled on the mac mini too. Only thing I'm not sure about is does this also act as a wifi router? In the back of the box it says "airport extreme wireless networking included", I assumed this means that this can act as a wifi router like an aiport extreme? Is this true?

Jul 15, 2009So, I was using my UB MacBook earlier today. I had a CD in the superdrive. I was shutting down the computer, and all of a sudden, as the screen was going black, the disk in my computer came out half way and the superdrive made a noise. I quickly restarted my computer to see what went wrong. I tried putting the CD back in, it didn't work. You all know how the slot loading superdrives suck in CDs. I now slide the CD in, and it won't get sucked in. In fact, the whole CD won't even go in. A little bit of it still sticks out. So now I'm stuck with a dead superdrive wondering what to do to fix it.

May 29, 2010Trying to figure out why my new 2010 MBP is getting kernel panics. As a Mac newbie i consulted the manual + internet. Apparently if I hold down the 'D' key whilst booting then the machine should start the AHT, but mine doesn't.I need to insert the Applications DVD in order for the AHT to start.Is there any way I can install the AHT? Was it removed when I reinstalled SL?I also wish that Apple added some more information to the startup screen (like most BIOS based computers) - e.g. press 'C' to boot from CD ROM, press 'D' for AHT etc, because right now there's just no feedback or information for the user :-s

Apr 29, 2009I have just shipped my Mac Mini to its new home and I've had reports that the panic error is appearing on boot up: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the Restart Button." This screen appears on the blue window just after the grey apple screen has disappeared and does not get as far as the desktop at the same point each time. We have tried to reinstall mac OS from the original install disk but holding the "C" Key or the "Option" Key down on restart doesn't boot from disc. Is there a way you can view the Kernel Panic log before you boot into Mac OS so we can try and pin point the source of this problem. I'm wondering if this could have been the result of the shipping that has caused some hardware to come loose.

When I insert/take out my earphones in/out of the headphone jack it takes OSX about 12 seconds to figure out I have done that and switch audio output settings & set the volume. All those 12 seconds the system seems to be like hung with the colored spinwheel cursor spinning. I have resetted PRAM, and also upgraded 10.5.7 to 10.6.1 but the problem is still here.

I click the button "alt" and I choose the option Macintosh HD and the computer works. But I can't do this procedure always.
