I'm trying to put text into a Movable Type blog document and when I insert the html code, it throws in a bunch of rogue characters (into the code).  Any tips on how I can do this? Perhaps insert code before I past into Movable Type??? I'm a real novice at html--just trying to follow instructions I've been given to get a document onto a blog.

OS X :: PowerPoint Text Disappears When Hyperlinked?

Oct 27, 2009

I'm new to Mac and working on my existing powerpoint lectures that were originally created in Word on a PC. Recently, my hyperlinks make the linked text invisible--this is true on both my Mac desktop and my Macbook Pro. Both already existing hyperlinks and any new links I create disappear from the screen, though they can be clicked on and still function as links. I have tried changing the font color and the background color, but no luck. The text disappears whether I simply past in the link to a slide or add it as a hyperlink to text. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.6 and Office 2004.

Applications :: Word Document (Type Text) In Footer

May 17, 2010

My mother is working on an important document with Word 2004, and it's fairly big at ~100 pages. The problem, is that people have sent through their own sections from their PC versions of Word, and their sections have [Type text] in the footer area. We cannot find a way to remove this text, and it doesn't actually show up when we reveal the footer. It prints this on every page, so we really need to find a way to get rid of it!

Applications :: Mac Office 2008 And Powerpoint Versus Office Powerpoint Compatability?

May 8, 2009

I'm sure most people suffer from this but here goes.

So I make a presentation on Mac Office powerpoint, everything is fine. I open it up at university on the PC, all is fine. I maybe change some text on a slide and save it again. Open the same file again on my Mac, and it won't open some silly error comes up saying trouble accessing file from mac HD.

Then luckily I have keynote, so I just open it in that and use that.

Point is why does this happen?? Whilst keynote is better, sometimes I have to edit things on a PC at work or uni and then it becomes a giant mess on my mac.

Is there a quick fix, or will I have to throw Mac Office into my growing pile of Microsoft related garbage.

MacBook :: Unable To Insert CD In SuperDrive

Jul 15, 2009

So, I was using my UB MacBook earlier today. I had a CD in the superdrive. I was shutting down the computer, and all of a sudden, as the screen was going black, the disk in my computer came out half way and the superdrive made a noise. I quickly restarted my computer to see what went wrong. I tried putting the CD back in, it didn't work. You all know how the slot loading superdrives suck in CDs. I now slide the CD in, and it won't get sucked in. In fact, the whole CD won't even go in. A little bit of it still sticks out. So now I'm stuck with a dead superdrive wondering what to do to fix it.
