My MacBook pro starts up then goes to the white apple screen but after that the whole screen turns blue and has a round loading thing that does not stop spinning and thats all it does. The computer does not turn on past the blue screen?

When i turn on my computer it goes to the regular white screen with the apple with the pinwheel. Then i goes to a blue screen and it changes to a different shade of blue and the pin wheel shows up. The two blue screens just alternate untill i hit the power button the shut it off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI hardly ever turn off my Macbook unless i need to - I just close it and use it whenever i need to. I let the battery run dry as Apple suggests to do every now and again, and turned it on the next day. It started to boot and took a little longer to get past the grey apple logo and loading circle and then froze on the blue screen. I can control the mouse, but every few seconds it changes to a darker blue, cursor disappears but returns after a second or two. I've tried:
- Booting into safe mode (Same thing happens)
- Booting from CD and repairing permissions (Said everything was ok, same thing happens when I booted)
- Single user mode (used some commands from an Apple page and restarted)
I can however boot into windows perfectly fine, which leads me to suspect it's a corrupt log in item. I'd like to know for sure it's not a hardware problem so I don't have to take it into an Apple Store.
One minute my computer was fine, the next it froze. I did a hard reboot and now it won't boot past the blue screen, but I can move my mouse. Any idea what to do?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am running OSX 10.5.7. Installed it several weeks ago. This morning, the computer was acting up a bit. For instance, in my wife's account, I couldn't access our shared iTunes library, getting the error saying it was locked. When I rebooted, suddenly I couldn't get into the machine. It just hangs on a blue screen. I've tried booting with the shift key down, and that didn't do anything. I also tried cmd-s, but don't know what to do with that at the prompt, and cmd-v, which works fine, but just dumps me into the blue screen again.
I have a bootable FW drive, and I can boot fine off that, and even see the internal drive. I've opened files on the internal drive -- it all looks intact. But I still can't boot from the internal drive. I've tried Googling for solutions, but if you google "hangs on blue screen" or bsod or whatever around OSX, you get a bunch of hits related to installing 10.5.7, which isn't my issue, and you also get articles from 2006 and 2004, etc. I was hoping it was some sort of permissions thing, but I am not really sure.
My imac will not boot past the blue screen. It crashed whilst loading a new application which I downloaded from the mac website, had to force a shutdown as it wasn't responding, and now it will not boot no matter what I try. I have searched for answers on the forums but my mac will not respond to any keyboard commands even with the installation dvd inserted. I don't get the startup chime anymore either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to reformat an iBook for a friend. Everything was running, but, there was no chime on boot. I logged into the machine, and was checking files and folders when it locked up. It actyally locked up while trying to run Microsoft Word. It now boots to a grey screen the the little "spinning" thing, and then, instead of going to the login screen, it just turns blue. It will NOT boot into Safe Mode, it will NOT boot to the iBook Install CD, I just get the same blue screen using both methods. I used Command-Option-P-R without success. I booted to Open Firmware and typed reset-nvram without success. I don't know what else to try. I am copying her files right now by booting into Target Disk mode, but, once I get that done, I still won't be able to boot the install disc to get the system wiped and reinstalled. What else can I do to correct this?

I got my Macbook Pro only 6 months ago, and supposedly, it is a really strong and good computer: 2GHz Intel Core i7 with Version Mac OS X 10.6.8.
A couple of times a week the screen suddenly turns blue. I can't really figure out a pattern as to when it does it. Often, I'll be switching between word and a pdf and then it just suddenly turns blue and I can't use any bottons. I just recently discovered that if I simply close the Macbook and open it up again, then I'll get back to where I was before it turned blue. In this way, I can make the computer 'wake up' by closing and opening it once or twice. Also, I can force the computer to shut down by holding the switch-off botton down for a while.
However, something is obviosly wrong, and it is anoying and also, I would like to find out if it is a hardware problem before it's too late to get it fixed within the hardware-protection period of 1 year after purchase.
I just formatted the hard drive a couple of days ago and re-installed everything, but it still happens. Also, I tried to do the 'hold down option-command-R-P'-thing but it hasn't solved the problem.

My ibookG4 won't boot past the blue screen. I have run fsck several times in single user because it won't boot in safe mode. Every time it comes back **** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED **** and never that the volume is ok. Computer starts (keyboard lit, music plays, caps lock light on), but no screen. I need to open and close 2 - 30 times before the screen will turn on. Once on, the computer works perfectly. I've tried PRAM and safemode reset.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor three weeks now, the windows on my desktop turn blue and separate when I click on a link or open another window. I had the hard drive replaced; Apple diagnostic found nothing. Accidentally discovered it happened when I used my mouse. Scroll only worked forwards, not back or to the side. Replaced mouse with new, identical model. Still happens. Then I used an old mouse from 2003, no scroll wheel, but it seems to work fine.

Everytime I start skype while in windows, the computer crashes and I get the blue screen... I think it has to do with the sound drivers, because when I'm using msn messenger also in windows suddenly the microphone mutes itself.
I tryed updating the realtek drivers with no help, updated skype, no help, I uninstalled the realtek drivers and the laptop did not crash anymore but I had no sound, any advice like for example how to get the microsoft drivers to work on the laptop without using realtek??
For whatever reason with the microsoft drivers,I think the sound is trying to come out of the digital outlet, I can see the ligth inside the jack, but nothing comes out of the laptop's speakers...
By the way, the vista version is Home basic.
My laptop was dead then I restarted it. I hear the fan going and the the CAPS LOCK light comes on. But the screen is black. About a minute later the screen turns on and has a message that asks me to pick a language. then asks me what type of problem I am having with using my password. (Which I am not having). I was using my Mac (Macbook Pro 15" screen) and tried opening a file in GarageBand, at which point a warning message came up saying something about a midi file and something not being allowed, and then froze, resulting in me having to switch the computer off from the power button and restarting (Sadly I didnt realise that this would be the start of a whole host of problems and didnt make a note of the warning message). After rebooting I got the 'stuck on the blue screen with the Apple logo and infinitly spinning wheel' problem that i've seen in a few posts. having tried numerous suggestions posted with no change I ended up taking it to the genius section of an Apple store. When i got it back they said that it may have been a corrupted file, and that they re-installed and reset the starting programs (Something along those lines, I cant quite remember). I can now get onto the computer and use it, though some new problems have arisen.......
