i used to put the card in and it would read it right away and appear on the desktop, but now i'm putting the card in and nothing is happening.
i'm assuming i have to take it into apple for repairs or whatever, but are there any protocols i don't know about that i should take before doing that?
My MacBook Pro 15' Early 2011 model's SD Card slot stopped working after the 10.7.4 supplemental upgrade. I "zapped" (or reset) the PRAM and reset the SMC, and it worked for a minute but can't get it to work again. Its still under it 1 year manufacture warranty and was wondering if this would be, Apple Phone Support or an Apple Store Genius.Â

My usb slots and sd card slot is no longer working in Windows 7 on my macbook pro. I've tried reinstalling the bootcamp drivers but it doesn't help. My firewire 800 works fine with my lacie external hard drive. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI was just going between sd cards, trying to empty one out to use for something. Then, suddenly, it stopped mounting. None of the cards that previously mounted before suddenly stopped. As if the SD slot itself had been gone bye-bye. No recognition. SD cards are just fine. We have about dozen of them but it all mounts perfectly on other two macs. Obviously, it's my MBP's problem. I have rebooted two times, with no luck. I inserted them slowly and fast and anyway I could.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLast week, my airport connection suddenly stopped working (and I mean JUST as I was working on it, it started failing). It would connect to the network fine, but it could not communicate with the router through DHCP and even with a static IP, it could not transfer any network data. I put in my brother's working airport card, and it worked, so I ordered a refurbished airport card from ifixit.com. I put that in today, and it is showing the same symptoms of my old card. I don't have my brother's PowerBook to test his card again, so I don't know what to do.

I would think that Apple might be able to squeeze a SD Slot in there to make the MBA even better. Also, the Rev-D should have the SD-Card Slot and a standard 4GB RAM.

Why doesen't the 17inch MBP have an SD CARD Slot and 4 USB PORT'S? Can we look forward to seeing this in the next update?
Also I think the Baseline MBP (13inch) should have at least 3 USB Ports too! For the 15 inch It should have 4 also.
I'm still trying to decide whether or not to give up my expresscard slot for an SD card slot. If I could figure out something useful to do with it, that would persuade me. I don't do hard core photography yet, and if I did, I could always just USB the camera.Does anyone use the SD card slot for something other than photography? I figured maybe it could be used like a floppy drive to organize certain projects or files but those could always be backed up to CD/ DVD. Not to mention, if you store the files on your hard drive, time machine would back them up.

I have a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo (8 GB) full of pictures that I want to transfer to my Macbook Pro. However, the adapter I have doesn't fit into the slot. The memory stick alone fits into the slot and I thought that would work since it has on my PC in the past, but that doesn't work either. What kind of adapter do I need to get?

I stick SD cards into the slot - close Image Capture - in Finder it's listed - I can copy files off of it - but there is no way to put anything on it. I always get a "no space available" message. I put a brand new 2GB SD card into this slot and I cannot get one picture onto it - no space available. I went to my Windows7 desktop - stuck it in - drag and dropped over 500 pictures on it. EASY. i just got my brand new macbook pro 15" 2.66 ghz i7, 4 gb ram, high res, 500 gb 7200 rpm hdd, and I am ecstatic this computer is SO fast it blow my mind all over the table, the question i have is about the SD card slot, is there limit on data transfer for the SD card slot or is it limited by the speed of the card? i have a 16 GB sandisk extreme 2 that transfers @ 15 mb/s and a 4 GB sandisk extreme 3 that transfers @ 30 mb/s so can i transfer at those speeds or is it buffered? i tried importing 1 GB i had on the slower card and it transferred extremely fast but i cannot remember how fast the usb 2.0 was because i never really paid much attention.

I just got my macbook pro on monday and today when plugging in my keyboard and mouse into the 1st USB I notice it's not working. I plug them into the 2nd and it works fine.
Is this going to be a hardware issue? I'm sort of gutted, I thought I had a perfect one and now I find something isn't working as it should be.
I have a 2006 Macbook with a "Core Duo" processor. When I got it, one of the RAM slots was busted, so I put a 1gb stick in the working one to add a little speed.
