I have a mac os x 10.7.4 connected to a photosmart c309a. I use the mac drivers to scan document. Everything is updated and working fine. However, I would like to scan a document, copy it to word, and edit. How can I do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 13" MacBookPro running 10.6.1 with 4 G Ram. My HP Photosmart C4500 All-In-One will print but will not scan. I have unplugged the USB cable and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail. I have tried to scan from both the unit itself and the scan software on my laptop. I get messages like "an unknown error occurred, or "can't find scanner". When you look in the 4500s window it appears to be scanning but nothing happens. Any ideas? It seems to have stumped HP help so far!

Since I upgraded to Maverick the Scan Print in System Preferences freezes when I try to open it. I repaced my old Canon printer, because there was not a driver update available for it. My new printer is a HP Photosmart 7520. I downloaded the newest driver and software for it , but when I try to open HP Utilities it also freezes.

I have an iMac desktop with a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory. The operating system is Mac OS X, 10.9.4. Using my current software, I am unable to satisfactorily scan a document (in this case, a small community street map showing streets and lots with house numbers and owner's last names) and then be able to edit the scanned map to update it with new owner's names. When I scan a document I have problems locating the file on the computer. Once I located the file I attempted to save in pages 09 but it didn't work. HOWEVER, I can't access my emergency records organizer (where I keep all my bank account info, IDs and passwords, etc.) Is there a new application in Lion that allows me to to store this data? I'm not real happy with Lion right now, because half of my life/documennts were Word documents that can no longer be opened-unless I want to open EVERY last one of no fewer than 1,000 Word docs in 'pages.' Not only did I pay to upgrade to Lion, but I'll have to pay for another version of Word. Macintosh is on my___list right now.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIm going to be purchasing a 13" Macbook Pro but coming from using a PC my whole life I have a few questions:
Firstly would you recommend iWork or Office? And can iWork read and edit work documents?
Secondly, If I am creating a Word document on my Mac and then send it to someone that is using Office on a PC will the formatting etc be the same? Im thinking of the scenario if I am filling out a job application form and then send it to the employer I don't want the formatting to be messed up since that would preclude me from getting an interview most likely. Also, are there any other compatibility issues I should be aware of with sending things between Mac and PC? I know if these will be problematic I can always install Windows 7 via Bootcamp, but id rather they were do-able on OSX.
I'm trying to edit the text in textboxes that I put in a Word 2008 document. It was straightforward to click, add, edit, etc. for several days while constructing this document. Now that I've added page numbers, I can select the text boxes and click inside, but when I do, the curser goes to the top of the box and won't let me do anything except add text or delete right there at the top. I cannot access the text in the rest of the box to edit or delete. This is on a MacBook with Leopard.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to help out a co-worker who writes the company newsletter, articles for our base and local newspaper, as well as employee profiles and articles for various projects we produce at my job. This lady comes from a newspaper background and she's looking for a Mac-based program that somehow calculates word count and lets you write for a certain space/word count. Trust me, she's not visually-oriented (or particularly font/layout savvy) in any way, so the easier and more straight-forward something is, the better. I don't know if a program like this exists (and affordable one, at that), but to be honest, she always overwrites and guess who's the guy who has to sit with her and back and forth edit and trial and error stuff?
Also, Mac OS X-native would be very cool, as Sandy is on an iMac and being that she's not stuck waiting on Photoshop and stuff, she's been using OS X for the past month or so and now that our order of Office v.X copies are on the way, she will be one of those lucky people who will probably never have to launch Classic to get her job done: Word and Entourage are the only things she really uses. Anyone know of a program like I've described above? Are any of you from a newspaper/magazine background or environment with some suggestions or advice?
