Recently I connected my iPhone to my macbook for its usual update of photos and when i went into iPhoto the devices category was not there. Then I wondered if it would appear in iTunes apparently it did so I went back to iPhoto and it was not there very unusual maybe i had put the feauture on hide still

I recently RE-Imaged my MacBook Air because of other software issues. Well that fixed those problems, now I am having other problems! When I plug a Pendrive, or my External HD into the MBA it doesn't appear on the desktop but it does show up in the Finder Window.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have iPhoto 09 running on Snow Leopard and a Canon 50D DSLR. When I connect it to the computer using the USB cable, it does not show up under the devices item on the left side pane of iPhoto. I've tried changing USB cables as well as the USB slot to which the cable is plugged, but to no effect. The funny thing is if I select the option to automatically start iPhoto when a camera is connected, then iPhoto starts automatically when I connect the camera, but still the camera does not show up under devices. Occasionally, it does show up when I connect it, usually taking a long time to appear.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just jailbroke my iPhone 3GS and installed MyWi to work with my iPad. I also tried it on my MacBook Pro using Bluetooth. After I paired my iPhone and MacbBook Pro together everything worked fine. Now under the Airport Menu I see a separate category labeled "Devices" which is just below where my Home Network is.
My questions is how do I go about deleting this? I've tried everything. I deleted my device under Bluetooth Preferences, quit MyWi, messed around with the Network Preferences and it still appears under the Airport Menu. I even clicked connect but of course that doesn't work since I quit everything and deleted the device in Bluetooth settings. It's not even listed under "Preferred Networks" when you click on the advanced tab. It appears as "(my last name) Hotspot" and is under a tab labeled "Devices"
My iTunes sidebar shows that I have two devices are attached when in reality no devices are attached. I delete them and every time I open iTunes, they show up again in my sidebar.Â

Ever since i logged out and back in again nothing is appearing on my desktop. I can only see my background. Not even the silver bar at the top is visible, it's really worrying me! The only way i've managed to get onto safari to write this is because i pressed the play button on my keyboard which opened up itunes, which is when the silver bar appeared and i just went and clicked on the apple logo in the top far left corner and clicked recent items, and luckily one of them was safari. But if i quite safari the silver bar at the top will disappear and i won't be able to do anything.

According to my lil bro, the computer landed screen down. Now whenever he tries booting his Mac, a folder icon appears on the screen and the HDD makes a continuous skipping noise. I'm guessing a new HDD will fix the problem?

My Macbook Air has been working fine up until recently. Now all of a sudden I get a white screen and a flashing folder on start up. I've looked into this on the support forums and found nothing. The following did nothing for me and I can't get to Disk Utility:

Resetting VPROT.Â
However I thought I had some Joy with Option+R. It gets to the Internet recovery stream but then won't connect to any network. I have no Bootable version of MacOSX and can't create a copy on USB because the only other computer I have is a PC.Specs: Macbook Air (2011), 2GB Ram, 64GB SSD, i5 Processor, Mac OS X Lion.

I have an older MacBook Pro (1,1 first gen, Intel Core Duo, 2006). It's slowly dying, I think. What I'm wondering about are these lines that are appearing/disappearing on the screen. I think it may be a sign that the video card is going out. The lines are horizontal bands that appear often when I'm watching video. Occasionally they'll appear while scrolling or loading a webpage. They're usually quite thin, although it does appear to be getting worse. Does anyone know what this would be? Is it safe to assume a dead logic board is in my future? View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm new to MBP 13'' (2010), just 3 weeks now, and it's my first laptop, so I don't know if this is just normal or not. I have noticed there are several marks on screen appears to be from keyboard edges, say where the "E" key supposed to meet the screen. Looks like small spot scratches, but fortunately they came off when I clean them with damped cloth. It came back after I use and close/open the lid, same spots I think. New MBP design looks like the keys should not touch the screen, but it appears to be keep touching while lid is closed? What about yours, can you see marks when the screen is turned off? Or I may need to worry about screen protection? (if I do cleaning often the same spots I guess it may scratch eventually?)

I use my Mac Mail to send my personal emails... However I also use it to monitor my work email. However, when I use my work Gmail account to send multiple messages either on my phone or on my computer through Gmail, whenever I go into mac Mail I have 40+ copies of the emails I sent. I tried to look in the setting if there's something that disables this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago, I decided to download a stand-alone jar file for my personal use. The jar file, dependent on nothing, ran in Jar Laucher by default and worked fine. Earlier this week, however, I decided my Mac was cluttered and so I went through it and cleared out everything I wasn't ever going to use again. I also have an app called "The Unarchiver" from the Mac App store (I've had this for about two months). Since the uncluttering, three bad things have happened. 1) Any .jar files open in The Unarchiver instead of Jar launcher
2) When I search around my Mac for Jar Launcher, nothing appears.
3) The .jar file icons changed to this:
Also, I tried uninstalling The Unarchiver, and it still didn't work. Either Jar Launcher is gone, or it went dormant. What should I do, and if needed, where can I reinstall Jar Launcher? (Mac Late 2009 Model 10.7.3)

I have a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz/250GB HDD/2GB RAM that won't turn on, unless I leave the power button pressed, in which case, as you all know, the computer turns off again. It started about 3 days ago. Set the computer to sleep, shut it closed, took it to another room and opened it. The MBP gave me the blue screen, then black and then... nothing. At first I thought it was the HDD, but now I'm having second thoughts. I now think it's the cpu fan.

i recently bought a 13"retina display macbook pro. It is so disappointing. There is a horizontal line that appears on the screen and disappears. This was for the third time i had to face the same issue. When i explain to the staff at the apple store they say that they have not come across such issue, for which i showed a proof from the other part of the world.

Popup error comes up on my screen five times at a time and immediately reappears when I click ok. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.1 now and still had the problem before I updated. In the past I saw that this issue was resolved by uninstalling pharos but I don't have pharos installed on my computer.

I have a first generation macbook pro, recently i have been getting neon green and purple blotches appearing on my screen. I was also having a hard drive problem so i swapped that out and installed a fresh copy of OSX 10.4 on there and was still having the green and purple show up so I know that it is hardware related. I also have hooked up an external monitor and they show up on that monitor too so I konw the problem is not related to my monitor.. I downloaded fan control and have found that if I keep my macbook under 53 degrees C then They wont show up nearly as often but they still do. The only problem with this is that to keep it under 53 degrees C then I need to have the fans running extremely fast the entire time which is not really solving the problem...any suggestions?
It kinda looks to me like I need to get the logic board replaced, what does that entail.. can I do it myself? im pretty good with computers and electronics. I don't have apple care and the warrenty has definelty been voided or is expired..what kind of $$ am I looking at?
