I have installed an the old xcode tools 1.0 on mainly by Accident on Lion. Now a lot of commands causes the error "the PowerPC architecture is no longer supported." A lot of programms are now buggy... Is there a way to fix that and uninstall the package?

I want to download apple developer tools XCode on my iMac, but it says I need a later version of OSX. What are the downsides to installing the later version (Lion?). I currently have OS X version 10.6.8 on my iMac and it says I'm required to install version 10.7.3 or later. By the way, is the updated version provided free or do I have to buy it? I'm looking to do all of this so I can start to develop an App for my iPad..

It would appear that the new iPhoto app that is being prepared for cross-platform use is being optimzed for cross-platform as iWork applications have been. The tools for altering photos only has a fraction of the tools currently available in Aperture (and even less than available in platforms like Lightroom. There had been hope that with the new iMac Pro that there was going to be a supercharged version of Aperture...but no mention at that role out, nor in today's WWDC.

I am fighting with upgrading my XCode 4.2.1 -> 4.3.1, but im unable to do so from App Store, which claims i have the latest version everytime.

i need to uninstall xcode 4.3 because i found out my installation was corrupt. i used CleanMyMac to uninstall the app, but i can't dowload it from the app store because it sais it's still installed. i looked and the /Developer folder doesn't exist and neither does the app file in the applications folder.

I just upgraded my HD to a 1T drive. I had recently reinstalled everything on the original HD, and enabled FileVault2 on the drive and didn't want to go through the tedious process of reinstalling everything. Instead, I used Clonzezilla to image the drive over. Everything works properly. My new drive boots as expected and everything on the FV2 partition shows up properly. Of course, now I would like to extend my FV2 partition to fill the remaining part of the disk. Are there any tools (3rd party or native) that allow me to resize my FV2 partition? Everything I have found to date indicates that I have to disable (decrypt) FV2, resize, and then re-enable FV2. Seems like an extremely long and arduous process. Has noone been able to write a utitility to extend the partition size without needing to decrypt everything? I'm running Lion 10.7.3.

I have just bought a new MacBook Pro 13 (with Intel CPU), and I'm trying to set up my MBox 2, which came with Pro Tools 8 LE (m-powered).I'm getting the error message: "Unable to locate Digidesign hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on. Click "Ok" when the hardware is ready."The USB socket's light on the MBox 2 does not light up, although the other lights are on as normal.I know this is a widely-encountered issue, and I think it is because this software is not compatible with OS X Lion but I have tried several things so far to isolate the problem:1) Have connected the MBox 2 to my Dell Window 7 laptop using the SAME USB cable and it works perfectly (suggesting the USB cable is okay and the USB socket on the MBox 2 is okay).2) Have tried installing the software and drivers from the Installation CD which came with the MBox 2 onto my MacBook three times, in case there was a problem with the installation. This is the same Installation CD I used to install them onto my Dell laptop which did work using the MBox and Pro Tools 8 LE setup (which suggests that the problem is either with the contents of the CD not being compatible or up to date for the MacBook Pro 13 / OS X Lion 10.7.03, or that there is another problem I need to address with one of these three devices/components)3) I have installed the later drivers for Pro Tools 9 (I believe it was for 9.0.6), although I don’t own the Pro Tools 9 software, so this is a newer driver being applied to my Pro Tools 8 LE software. After I did this, the MBox 2’s USB light DID come on!But… when I then tried to open Pro Tools 8 LE, I got an error: “CRITICAL ERROR - PRO TOOLS NEED TO BE REINITIALIZED” Then when I rebooted, each time I opened Pro Tools it said: "Pro Tools LE 8 has shut down unexpectedly. Please retry…”Could someone tell me if my set up is compatible please? I'm trying to download XCode onto my MacBook Pro which runs on Maverick, Version 10.9.4.
Whenever I try to download the application, I get this error code.
I was able to download XCode on my main house computer, but it will not let me do it on here.
I have logged out of my Apple ID, tried a different one, restarted the application, and restarted my computer and I am still getting this error code.
Some people who have the same computer as me are able to download while others get the same error code.

I currently need a laptop of some sort but have a very fast PC desktop for my heavy lifting, PC gaming, photoshop, etc. I am also interested in learning to program for iOS using Xcode, and I don't want to go the hackintosh route. Since I have a desktop, my general usage for this laptop would be very light, i.e. web browsing, email, tweetdeck, iTunes, light Microsoft Office use, etc. I am just wondering if these models would be good enough for Xcode? Would the 11" model be sufficient?
(I could plug into one of my PC's external monitors for more screen real estate). I guess I mainly ask that question from a processor standpoint (1.4 versus the 1.86 in the 13"). 2GB versus 4GB RAM? Again, this would be used very casually other than learning programming on Xcode. Before the Airs were released I was considering a base 13" pro. The only benefit I see in the 13" pro at this point is a backlit keyboard and cheaper than the 13" air. (Apple Store has the 13" pro refurb for $1020 right now).
I have just got a new 11,6 air. It is not my first Mac, and I have always found Xcode on the install discs, but where is it now? I can't find it in the install usb stick.

I just installed mac os x 10.7.3 update from software update and when i rebooted my mac the wifi didnt come up. I clicked on it and it said no hardware installed. So i went onto the recovery HD and tried the wifi there and it worked! how can i get the wifi to work on my regular login because the wifi card is still good and if it works in recovery HD mode it should work in regular mode

View 7 Replies View RelatedI got Lion and now running into several problems. There Are files I still need to access and I keep getting "no powerpc tools" supported message. I am also running into problem with the finder. A mac friend helped me "re-boot" finder and Suggested I re-install Lion. That didn't work -- couldn't get the program to "reboot/re-download." Is there a way in which I can get programs/files to work in Lion? Can I revert back to Leopard or Snow Leopard and save the upgrade I purchased for later?
