Dec 2, 2014My macbook pro keeps going to sleep and sometimes it won't wake up.. or the screen flicker between sleep and awake. I've done all the hardware tests and it says everything is in working condition. Sometimes it works perfectly all day and sometimes it doesn't.. I've reset the PRAM and NVRAM and that doesn't seem to fix the issue.. (I have a video I filmed with my iphone of the problem but I can't add it). My MacBook Pro is barely a year old.

Dec 3, 2014I have a Macbook pro 13' (2013) which had the OS X Mavericks. About to days ago I upgraded to OS X Yosemite, it worked well for one day. Then, the mouse in the screen is always downloading and I cant turn off my computer unless I do it with the power button. My screen is black and almost evrytime with the mouse downloading (rainbow circle).

Dec 11, 2014What is the best way to remove malware from my MacBook Air running Yosemite? I tried searching the forums but most of the answers I found said OS X is immune from them or did not apply at all. I was having problems with copy/paste not working correctly and other weird issues so I restarted my MacBook Air. Now when the computer starts, this ZipCloud window pops up. The last thing I installed was Dragon Dictation. Could that be the problem? Anyway, I just want to know how to get rid of this ZipCloud popup and anything else that got installed that I don't know about and don't want.

Dec 4, 2014SInce downloading OS Yosemite, iCal on my Macbook doesn't work. All past events have been erased and I can't add new events. When I go into iCloud my calendar is fine and if add a new event to the calendar in my iPhone or iPad these will sync ok (although all past events prior to downloading Yosemite have also been erased on both devices).

It keeps dropping the signal about every 5 minutes, only on my home network. It's only this device too, since my phone and all of my roomates' devices are unphased. (streaming videos like it's no big deal)
This started happening after we lost connectivity with the snow a few days ago here in Seattle. I have tried all sort of troubleshooting, including the DNS thingy and restarting the router.

Dec 12, 2014My cd/dvd drive has become unresponsive.
I try to insert a photo cd and it is not accepted. I then thought I might try to burn a disc from iTunes to see if it might "wake up" the drive. No luck.
I have a mac book pro running yosemite. As best I can tell, the last time I used the drive was about 6 months ago, prior to the upgrade to yosemite. Is this a sign of a software problem or a hardware problem?

Dec 7, 2014Ever since upgrading to Yosemite I cannot use headphones on my Macbook Air (2013 model).
The problem seems to only occur when I am on the same network as an Apple TV. If I unplug the Apple TV, or turn off Wi-Fi on my Mac then the headphones start working again. Obviously this isn't a great workaround, as I like to be able to stream music over the Internet and listen using headphones. The usefulness of an Apple TV is greatly reduced if I need to wait for it to cold-boot each time I want to use it!

Dec 7, 2014After I updated my Macbook Air to Yosemite, my 2T Lacie Porche Design External HD kept ejecting after a minute or so after being plugged in. I tried all the troubleshooting there is to try in this site. I took my macbook to an Apple store with the HD and was told the HD was faulty. Then took the HD to Best Buy and GeekSquad said they tried it in many devices and said the HD had no issues. So yesterday (as of the day of this post) I did reset on my mac to factory settings. It reverted back to Mavericks. I plugged in the HD and voila! No issues. So I thought that erasing everything on the mac might have solved the issue. Once again updated to Yosemite and boom. HD ejected. What's the next step?

Dec 11, 2014URL....I had a troublesome upgrade to Yosemite on my 2010 MBP with a custom 128 GB SSD installed. I had to abort installation and then recovered from that by reinstalling OSX via recovery mode. Now everything works fine except for the fact that the system freezes (spinning beach ball, can move windows, cannot access force quit or change focus) consistently one hour after boot. Even after several hours nothing happens and the only option is to hard reset. Booting in safe mode has the same effect.
any problems in the system logs, and after a forced restart, no crash report is generated. I don't know what happened for the user in the linked thread, but our issues seem quite similar - what could this be? Some kind of daemon blocking after one hour?
