OS X Yosemite :: ICal Not Working On MacBook Pro

Dec 4, 2014

SInce downloading OS Yosemite, iCal on my Macbook doesn't work. All past events have been erased and I can't add new events. When I go into iCloud my calendar is fine and if add a new event to the calendar in my iPhone or iPad these will sync ok (although all past events prior to downloading Yosemite have also been erased on both devices).

OS X Yosemite :: ICal Is Not Showing Event Time In Month View

Dec 9, 2014

For some reason, the time of my events stopped showing in iCal.  I get the event, but the time doesn't show unless I click on the event.  The time does show in week view, but I prefer to use month view.  This has not been an issue in the past, so I don't know what happened or if I clicked on something accidentally.  I tried going to iCal preferences, but I don't see anything that allows me to select "show time in month view" which has been suggested by other usI'm using OS X Yosemite.

MacBook Air :: External HD Not Working - OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Dec 7, 2014

After I updated my Macbook Air to Yosemite, my 2T Lacie Porche Design External HD kept ejecting after a minute or so after being plugged in. I tried all the troubleshooting there is to try in this site. I took my macbook to an Apple store with the HD and was told the HD was faulty. Then took the HD to Best Buy and GeekSquad said they tried it in many devices and said the HD had no issues. So yesterday (as of the day of this post) I did reset on my mac to factory settings. It reverted back to Mavericks. I plugged in the HD and voila! No issues. So I thought that erasing everything on the mac might have solved the issue. Once again updated to Yosemite and boom. HD ejected. What's the next step?

Had the same issue with previous system 10.9. Question was answered and it solved the problem, only until I reboot the computer. Then problem appeared again.

Installed 10.10.1 Yosemite and again my camera is no longer operating. I tried the previous method and used Disk Utilities to repair the permissions but it still does not work.

Applications :: Filemaker And Ical Working Together Is That Possible?

Nov 9, 2009

i work for a small digital printing company and we are looking for a way to incoroporate the use of a schedule like app that would let us manipulate job tickets in a calendar app like ical with filemaker pro 10.

thought explained:

1. within filemaker pro 10 we would create a job ticket with all the needed information (name of print file, quantity, size, due date etc.)

2. within this job ticket we would estimate how much time it would take to complete the project (ex. 1 hour.)

3. then automatigically a 1hour reserved time slot would be taken in ical on the desired day.

4. our production manager would then move around the reserved time slots at will to complete the jobs for the due dates.

IS THIS POSSIBLE TO ACCOMPLISH?

if so, does anyone know of a file maker plugin or any other app that can do this?

Applications :: Time Zone Support In ICal Not Working?

Jul 7, 2010

I dont use this feature that often, so I dont know how long this hasnt been working, may or may not be related to 10.6.4. I have used it in the past though, so I do know how to use it.

Right now, no matter what time zone I set iCal to, it displays the events in the time zone they were created in. And I cant change the time zone an event is set to, it just snaps back to its original event. Right now I have two events for different time zones set on the same day, one after the other. In reality, theyre about an hour apart, but they appear to be 2 hours apart, and when I change iCals time zone, they dont shift accordingly.

OS X Yosemite :: Printer Not Working Properly

Dec 5, 2014

I have a Canon LBP6000 laser printer. I downloaded the Yosemite driver from Canon after updating to Yosemite, and the printer worked up until a few days ago. Now, I can't print. The printer status monitor says "printing" with a status bar, but nothing happens.

I have tried remedies such as deleting all printer drivers, deleting the printer, resetting the printer system, restarting the computer, reinstalling the printer, resetting PRAM, updating to 10.10.1. Nothing has worked so far. It was working fine a few days ago!

I'm on a 2008 MacBook OS X 10.10.1.

OS X Yosemite :: Shared Printer Not Working?

Nov 30, 2014

I have set up the shared printer on my iMac in my room. I am trying to print from my husbands iMac in the living room. It is acting like it is going to print but when I try to print the printer queue comes up and it pauses the print job. When I select resume it says "Printing- 1.6.2 is ready to print." then it pauses again.

I tried setting the printer up multiple times from the living room and when I do it says the address is "valid and complete host name or address" then when I'm done and click "Add" it tells me "Unable to verify the printer on your network." "Unable to connect to 'Mycomputer-name-example.local’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?" cancel or continue.

Also I installed the printer software on both computers so that shouldn't be the issue.

OS X Yosemite :: Uploading Images Not Working In 10.10.1?

Nov 30, 2014

I have a macbook pro 17" 2011 model and since upgrading to Yosemite I am now unable to load images to websites such as ebay. This is just one of the sites having the problem but other sites as well where you are required to click the "load image" button. It gives you the navigation to the folder where the images are and you can see them but they are unclickable. All images are jpeg images with .jpg extension. I've included the series needed to get to the folder and you will see in the last image, none of the items are selectable, even the .jpg files.

Whats the secret to getting this option back so I can upload images to websites?

OS X Yosemite :: 10.10 / Mail Drop Not Working

Dec 5, 2014

So i wanted to send a 600MB file via mail drop, but when I dragged the file onto the mail window and hit send, instead of the window asking me if I wanted to send it via mail drop, it just started sending it. Now I have a slow connection and don't want to spend the next 90 minutes uploading something that cannot be downloaded, never mind clogging up my internet connection.

Incidentally, in trashing the uploading file in Mail's Outbox to stop it, I can see the upload still continues as my network stats show full upload speed. Had to restart.

OS X Yosemite :: Mail Context Menu Not Working?

Nov 30, 2014

Since the installation of Yosemite, Mail context menus no longer work. Control-clicking on a hyperlink in a mail messages opens a context menu containing these items:

Selecting any of the first 3 has no effect. Just clicking on the hyperlink will switch to the browser (Safari) and open the link. Clicking on "Services" does display a list of Services, and "Open URL in Firefox" at least seems to work. However, "Open URLs in Safari Tabs" does not. This seems to indicate a possible disconnect between Mail and Safari in particular.

OS X Yosemite :: PS3 Controller Randomly Stopped Working

Dec 12, 2014

So my paired Bluetooth PS3 controller just stopped connecting with my mid-2011 iMac today. It says it is connected in the drop-down Bluetooth menu, I can see the flashing red lights, but it no longer works with any of the games it did 1-2 days ago.

I did download USB Overdrive to use the PS3 controller plugged in (with Expendabros, which was crashing when I tried to use the controller wirelessly, a known bug) yesterday, and it worked with that. Anyway, I made sure Overdrive was not selected as active in System Preferences. I tried that little reset button on the controller itself. Charged it, of course (it was almost full anyway). Restarted my computer. Add resetting SMC and PRAM (the latter always makes me nervous, as it really screwed up my wifi settings once) to the list. I tried removing the device from the drop-down menu bar list and repairing, no luck. Is it odd that it is showing up in the drop-down list, but not in the list in Bluetooth System Preferences?

In addition, I looked at my System Profile, and the PS3 controller is listed as NOT paired...Lastly, I tried to find com.apple.Bluetooth.plist in "Preferences" under Library (to try deleting it), but I couldn't find it. I did find com.apple.I don't believe there were any OS updates recently that could have changed Bluetooth somehow.
