I'm trying to connect an older G4 computer tower (400mhz) to an LCD TV (Vizio 20"). The computer has a ATI rage 128 video card. I have a VGA-to-VGA cable that connects the computer to the RGB connection on the TV. However, I'm not getting a signal. Are any additional steps, hardware, cabling, etc. needed here? Not very familiar with tech details. I've searched web. I have access to an 'ATI rage 128Pro' card that seems to have a DVI connection in addition to the VGA port. Would this work better?

I would like to know if i can plug the component 'out' from my HD PVR into the component 'in' on the receiver and have the video still go out my HDMI, on the receiver, to the tv.
Can I use the magsafe connector from my 2007 MacBook Pro 15" with my 2010 (i7) MacBook Pro 17"? They are both 85W, but I purchased my 2010 MBP in Europe and thought it would be easier to use the connector from my US purchased 2007 MBP while in US so I don't have to use and adapter.

I'm wondering if it's possible to play my Xbox on my MacBook display instead of on the terrible standard definition 13" TV I have at school.
Would it be possible to find a component to mini-display adapter?
I Have a Macbook pro 13" mid 2010. I just want to know if it is possible to use the audio port for Digital Input, for recording etc. If not are there any other options for digital input??

View 10 Replies View RelatedI use iTunes and Nicecast to do an Internet radio show. I have tried using a usb headset with an attached mic. However, the sound is rather tinny compared to my old headset that I used on my PC. Are there any connectors I could buy where I could use my old rca headset and have a usb plug for my iMac? Even if there is such a connector, will it work, or sound any different? Just wish I could plug in the headset and mic directly into the Mac.

I bought a PCIe eSATA card for my Mac Pro and have installed it, and the system sees it and I'm able to install drivers, but disks aren't showing up when i plug them in.
There is a 4pin power connector on the board as well, but I think that's just so it can power external devices via the 2 power plugs it has on the back.
Are there extra 4pin power cables inside the tower, or a place for me to plug some more in?
Trying to install aux connectors for the graphics card. but it seems almost impossible with the fan in the way, I can't even get near them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have bought a Radeon 4850 graphics card to play some games in Windows under boot camp. The card comes with a mini 6 pin power connector that connects to the graphics card and supplied lead has at the other end a 4 pin power connector to go into the computer's power supply by the looks of the diagram in the box. My question is do I need to connect this to the Mac Pro power supply? The ATI 2600 card in the machine doesn't look like it connects to another power supply.
If I do need to use this then I can only see two small power connectors on the motherboard near the fan, does anyone know anywhere in the UK that would sell a compatible power lead?
does anybody know how many SATA connectors there are on 24" White iMac from 2006.?
if there is only one does anybody know if SATA port multiplier will work in this iMac?
I need to get component video out (HDTV) and am trying to get a video card that can do that. This is for a Quad 2.66 Mac Pro, currently with a 7300GT. Is the HD 3870 it? Since it's a Mac & PC edition and the PC cards have had Component Out via adapter for some time, I am hoping that this card might do it. Naturally I don't want to buy just to find out it isn't. Their website is useless, as usual.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased what I thought was an identical replacement screen used for my ibook G4 1.2 ghz. When attempting to install myself, I started to hook the new screen in and noticed I have what I believe is to be 2 power connectors (the connectors with the round pencil lead size connector) where the old screen only had 1. The data connectors were identical.
Do I have the wrong screen, do I use only 1.
I connected MacMini to my TV/Monitor with HDMI cable. Now I want option to listen to audio through my stereo too so I connected a stereo mini plug to the audio output on tegh MACMINI and to stereo miniplug input on my receiver but do not get sound.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm sure most of you are familiar with headphone jack splitters. For those of you who aren't, this is a jack splitter; basically, it lets you plug two sets of headphones into one jack.My question is, does something similar exist for either HDMI cables or Component cables? I'm in the process of redoing my room, and I'm planning on connecting my MacBook, Wii, PS2, and Xbox to an HDTV. The Wii, PS2, and Xbox all use Component input, and I would like to be able to switch between them without having to unplug and replug a bunch of cables. I'm planning on hooking up my MacBook via HDMI, but I'm also looking into getting a Blu-Ray player later on, which will also require HDMI.

Recently acquired an iMac G5, first time booting up I got the question mark of death screen.
Reinstalled the OS and now it is a 50/50 gamble that it will either boot up or give me a kernal panic message.
Question:Is there a way to tell what is the bad component? If it's the HD or Ram, I think I can replace them easily enough.
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2243BWX monitor attached to my Mac Pro 1.1 [OS X: 10.6.3] that refuses to display at its native 1680 X 1050 resolution.
System Pref incorrectly sees the display as a "SyncMas461". I've tried attaching the monitor via DVI & VGA connectors with no difference. Any advice?
My TV doesn't have DVI or VGA inputs, so I can only use component video input to plug my mac mini(mid 2007).
But I have serious problems with it. I have bought a Dvi to component video cable on eBay but it doesn't work with mac mini(it works with old PC).

I purchased a new MacBook Pro. Reinstalled all my applications from my MacBook. But for MPEG Streamclip, it is asking for The Apple QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which I bought back in 2009. The Apple Store isn't letting me download it again so I need to find the .dmg on my old MacBook. What is the filename?

I am using the Dynex mini-DVI to video component. I plugged the component into my mac and the extension cable to the tv.
Once the mac was on, the only thng the tv did was display static.
I tried searching through the display options to reset the resolution and and refresh rate, but was unsuccessful.
