Sep 25, 2010I'm having a small problem in Grapher. I'm supposed to graph a set of data points for a project, which I have done, but when I export the graph as an image, the data points aren't there. I think this might have to do with getting rid of the line connecting them (which I am not supposed to have). Is there a way to keep the data points visible in the exported image?

Jan 16, 2010So i've recently gotten in the uploading to YouTube craze with my Flip Mino HD but i'm not too happy at the way i've been doing this and am hoping there is an easier way.
As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.

May 27, 2010i just got a new macbook pro 13" laptop and am trying to transfer my itunes music as well as some data i have compiled into a single folder from my (2005) Powerbook G4 12" laptop. Please help me out with this i have no idea how to do this and the Apple Store said they will do it for $100 and i just poured every penny i own into this computer and cannot sell me old computer to pay bills until i transfer this data.

Dec 10, 2014I have lost all my data from my harts drive. The laptop is under warranty. I have been told that they have replaced my hard drive but could not get any data off the old one. I have now lost all my data, photos, files, music etc. NO backups, only simply because i did not know how to do them. Is there any way of getting the files back? All my work spreadsheets and accounts were also lost.

I'm realizing that this isn't sufficient. I like to edit photos and have Photoshop, Lightroom, and a web browser open at the same time. I'm pretty sure that maybe 10GB of RAM will do (I'd buy one 8GB card and keep one of the 2GB cards already installed), so in case I would need to upgrade again I could buy another 8GB card. May 22, 2009My friend recently argued with me about how stupid I was being about selling my Dell XPS for a less featured MacBook. His standing argument was that Apple gets away with murder - and by that he was arguing that they manage to sell hardware that is subpar by todays standards (hd space, cpu and graphic cards) that you could always find considerably cheaper laptops with good builds with much more impressive hardware and features.The argument over just the OS was starting to haunt me. I knew this before I had decided to return to OSX...but, egh...I guess it would be nice for Apple to deliver offerings that are more common place on the hardware side of things...

I called Applecare and Apple all but demanded I drive 3+ hours to an Apple store to get it looked at.Spending a day driving and at an Apple store is not in the cards.I asked they just ship me a new HDD and I'll put it in, but they don't want to do that.I will have to ship the laptop back to ??? and wait until they send it back.Is this common?I have used Applecare before with a new MBP years ago and they just shipped me a replacement.This MBP is near my replacement cycle, but I'm not ready yet.

Jun 30, 2014I believe that my internal SD drive on my MBA is creating a false positive when I insert the SD card which makes the card Read Only. The card is low-profile and is fixed in the unlock position so this is not the issue. Additionally the card is currently formatted in ExFAT so formatting is not the issue. All SD cards are coming up read only.

It was a floor model.also, the date when i booted it up was before 2001 for some strange reason.anyway, i have a WD 320 gb passport, usb ind. power external. It worked just fine two days ago, but now i upgraded through "Software Update" and..-It does not mount in finder, sidebar, or disc utility.
-the power light turns on
-cannot force mount with 3rd party software (Mount Me! 2.05)
-the MBA will also not mount any SD cards!! I have tried two different cables and even my printer!!-iPod Touch works just fine in the same port-SD cards and WD Passport work fine in anything else

Mar 12, 2012I have had my MBP for just over a year now. I am thinking I have somehow altered my settings recently to cause this issue. I have had no problem before using memory cards (such as from my camera) on my MBP. Now, I can open them, but can't delete from them nor add to them. The cards are not locked. I bought a brand new card and popped it in and have the same issue, I can't add anything to it from my computer nor can I change the name on the card.

Feb 14, 2010I may have sold a PC user on buying a mac and she's interested in the MBP. I noticed that some models of the MPB have a "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB" while others have the "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M." Are either of these integrated graphics? And what is the advantage of the models with "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB?" That sounds to me like it has two video boards. Why would Apple do this? And is there a big difference in video processing power between the models with one video board and two?

I know when the unibody Macbook Pros came out people were complaining that switching graphics cards required logging out. Is this still an issue or do most people stick with one? I just switched to the 9600M after being on the 9400M for about two months as I needed the extra power and battery life wasn't an issue.

I was wondering if I could still play my FPS Games on the MacBook, so my main Question is:

MacBook Pro :: Slot Stopped Mounting SD Cards - No Recognition
Mar 29, 2012I was just going between sd cards, trying to empty one out to use for something. Then, suddenly, it stopped mounting. None of the cards that previously mounted before suddenly stopped. As if the SD slot itself had been gone bye-bye. No recognition. SD cards are just fine. We have about dozen of them but it all mounts perfectly on other two macs. Obviously, it's my MBP's problem. I have rebooted two times, with no luck. I inserted them slowly and fast and anyway I could.

Jun 3, 2012I'm a relatively new Mac user (Macbook Pro 15). Can anyone tell me hwo to delete files from an external drive WITHOUT having to empty the entire trash bin. I can easily send the files to trash, however this does not free up disk space until I empty the trash. Personally I don't like to empty all the time as it ceases to become an effective safety net.
