View 1 RepliesDownloaded free copy of McAfee Anti-Virus software for government employees personal computer. The software upload wizard does not engage; disk in drive not recognized. I simply wish to load ant-virus software onto my new MacBook Pro that was downloaded from a government site. Suggestions to accomplish this task?

I am looking to get the Government employee discount. I know that if you buy the item from the store you will need to ID. If you order it online you do not need any kind of proof. Will that still apply if I what to pay for it online and pick it up at the store? Will I just need what is required for any regular pickup?

is it possible to download things like Final Cut Pro X with an educational discount? I know it's not as costly as Final Cut Pro 7 was but it's still good to know!

I have manually backed up all my files under User folder without using any of system backup tool(due to technical issue, i have no other option rather than copying manually). I have erased all hard disk and would like to copy everything back to Macintosh. Then the problem is when I tried to copy old Library folder to Macintosh HD user folder, it is saying I need to input password to continue, then I entered password and it still says i don't have permission.

Hopefully someone will have the answer as I have searched high and low on this one. I have moved ALL my iTunes content (music, videos etc) to the Shared Music folder on my new WD MyBook World Edition 2 (just in case that's relevant info) and everytime my Mac attempts to load iTunes I have to repeatedly direct it to the library.xml file in the Shared Music folder.Surely there's a proper solution for this? Anyone else out there had this experience and has figured it out.I've noticed that it does this only the first time I open iTunes up, any subsequent bootup within a session is fine, but any restart of my Macbook Pro and I have to repeat this.

My iTunes library has apparently filled my entire iMac (according to the computer I have over 97 days' worth of music). I would like to know 1) how to properly save my iTunes library to an external hard drive and 2) how to use iTunes so that it uses the library on the external drive.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have experienced a problem after I updated to SL last night.I made a fresh install of both SL and iLife 09 on my mbp unibody late 2008.
Afterwards, I replaced the my fresh iphoto library simply with my old iphoto 09library from time machine (no migration tool, only copy pasts).
But now I recognized a problem that I see no iphoto library in my Desktop and Screensaver Menu in control panel. I cant set iphoto library photos as screensaver cause I cant see them
Does anyone have a solution for it? or does anybody face the same issue?

View 5 Replies View RelatedTotal count is 729GB but that includes, everything in iTunes, Games, Apps, Music, Video, Movies, TV Shows, etc. How does everyone manage this, because right now I have everything on one external hard drive, but it is getting hard to manage. I just ordered a MBA 13" with the 256GB but I think I am only going to transfer stuff I watch listen to and use each day. I seem to spend hours fighting this thing each week, and just when I thought I was organized I find something else. How is everyone managing theirs?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac that I keep all of pics and music etc. I will be purchasing a mbpro and would like to edit photo's in iphoto on the mbpro. I'm assuming you can somehow share a drive? Is this possible. I guess i could also use a virtual machine of some sort.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got a new Macbook Pro and I want to transfer my I tunes playlist (songs, albums and podcasts to the new computer and then I will sync my ipod to the new computer. None of the music is bought or downloaded I simply copied from Cd's I own. The podcast are free downloaded one. I have tried dragging the library to a flash drive and uploading it on the new Macbook and all I get are the playlist folders not the contents. I have tried the share feature through Mobile me and that does not work either. I can always make it the topic of my "one to one" training this week but this is the last item in moving everything from the old Macbook pro so I can give it to our Daughter. Migration assistant did not seem to work either.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI want to transfer my iTunes library to a new MacBook that I'm buying today. What's the best way to do it? I need to sell this computer before I get the new one so I won't be able to put a cable between them. If I just copy across the music folder in my iTunes media directory, will this be enough? I have lots of album booklets and iTunes LP stuff that I want across as well. The other option is of course the DVD backup system through iTunes.

I want to change the home from his current name of JJlaw02 to my name, as is on my current iMac. However I cannot do this, he has not provided me with his password, but has instead deleted his account, having just one user, called User. I am since confused as to why I even need a password, if I currently do not need one to start it up.
Each time my wife restarts her Air she gets a message that /library/HP Trap is not secure or something to that. When I try to locate that folder in the library file it says that it does not exist. How do I stop this from happening?

When the hard drive on my MacBook Pro 13 needed to be wiped clean, I restored all my files from Time Machine except for my iPhoto files. Not sure why my iPhoto library wasn't restored, but it wasn't, and I can't find it on my Time Capsule. I want to move my partial iPhoto library from my old MacBook Pro to my new one. I understand this is possible by linking them in some way.
