Nov 18, 2009With Itunes 9, every song I play gets added to the Itunes library, even if I don't want it there. I have Itunes as my default music player on a Windows 7 (64-bit) computer. For example, if in windows explorer, I click on an MP3 file that is not in the Itunes library, Itunes starts up and plays the song (which is fine), but also it adds the song to the itunes library (which I don't want). I don't see any options to change this behavior.

Jun 28, 2014iTunes is showing me bizarre dates in the "Date Added" column. Examples are "6/29/14180", "1/5/145", and "12/29/12364". I should note that I'm running the latest version of iTunes and the latest version of Mavericks, but the iTunes library that I'm using is the library on my Snow Leopard drive (because I don't know a simple way of importing all of that music--25,000+ songs--into the Maverick side).

May 6, 2010I have a question about moving all of my avi movies from the movies folder into iTunes. I do have toast titanium which I was planning on using to convert the files before moving them. I guess my question is would it be possible to convert all of my movies into iTunes and A. Be able to watch them in good quality on my tv and B. Be able to check off which videos I want to ne synced to my iPod to take them and display them on a different tv via the nano. I would just like to hear if anyone has the same setup going on or if it would work better keeping all of my avi movies in a folder and converting them to iPod format on the fly.

Aug 6, 2010I now want to add my video media library to iTunes so that all my digital media will be in one place, and I can organize and search shows by genre, artist, etc. First, all my videos are .avi, so I figured that since iTunes accepts only .mp4 I have to convert ALL of them which will take SOO LONG. Any easy way of batch converting? Should I even store my videos and tv shows in iTunes, or do people do it differently? (I want to do something other than just putting them in folders)
But my main question is, because I store all these videos on an external drive, I simply want to link them to iTunes and keep them in their original paths, since they won't fit locally. I can accomplish this by simply un-checking the advanced preference option of copying the files to the default location, but that means I have to turn this off and then back on each time I want to import video. I understand this is not a HUGE deal but wanted to see if this was the proper/most efficient way of going about this.

Jun 11, 2012Okay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

Was this not made public for a reason or just small upgrade that needed no advertising? Or am I totally living on another planet and everyone knew about this? I checked one out for the first time today and.... now, there is a light sensor(next to the cam) to automatically turn the Backlit Keyboard off during daylight when you don't need it - to save battery life. it makes sense, but personally I want the option to always have it off to save battery, no matter the conditions around. I just found a reason to not want a 13" MBP over my uni MB New MBPs Users (June 09 or later) - is there customization with this new feature?

Mar 21, 2010I have Snow Leopard installed with the latest Quicktime.
When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option...I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?

So I ran a search on google on how to try and sort it. I followed the following instructions : Add a New Network Location & Renew DHCP LeaseLaunch “System Preferences” from the Apple menuSelect the “Network” panelClick on the “Location” pull down menu and choose “Edit Locations…”Click on the + plus icon to add a new network location, give it a unique name, and click “Done”Back at the Network panel with the newly created location selected, click on “Advanced” in the bottom right cornerClick on the “TCP/IP” tabClick on “Renew DHCP Lease” and wait for the numbers on the left to repopulate, then click “OK”
I was absolutely thrilled as it worked!!! … and continues to work ... The only problem now is that my Macbook is the only one in the house that can connect to the internet wirelessly. When I try and connect my iPhone 4 it asks me for the Password then says “Unable to join network” and also my mums laptop refuses to join wifi …. She’s not happy with me as she now has to run it via ethernet. I tried to set up my iPhone manually, but with no joy as I'm not sure what I'm doing
