My macbook pro (mid 2012) has started flickering badly upon boot-up. The display also jiggles up and down on occassion when loading web pages. I have upgraded to Mavericks and my MBP is usually hooked up to a large monitor. Problem just started happening.

All my MacBook Pro does is flicker 3 times for about 8 seconds that it goes back to normal.

I just got a displayport to dual-link dvi adapter for my 2011 mac mini. Using a HP LP3065 display, and it keeps flickering! Is there something I can do to make it stop? Does the adapter have firmware that can be updated?

everytime when i turn on my macbook, the top part of the screen flickers.. I don't recall seeing that happen when i first got my macbook. anyone else have the same issue? something i should worry?

I took my macbook out of an outer case to clean the shell itself.
I used wet ones which have alcohol so I wasn't worried, but also wasn't careless.
I once got a screen that said I needed to restart my computer. So I did.
Whenever I move my macbook on my desk with the lid open, or when I open the lid, or when I close the lid, my screen flickers to black and then back open many times. Is this a weak connection some where? Sometimes the screen will stay black until I move the lid a little bit. I bought it refurbished from Apple this spring. I do not have applecare.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a 22 inch monitor. its a pretty generic brand, but its very high resolution and works great on other computers. i got the vga adapter for my aluminum macbook (i posted in this section because its closer to the 13" mbp). i have an apple keyboard connected to it. i try to use it in clamshell mode and when i press a button on the keyboard to wake it up the screen just flickers as if its trying to adjust the resolution. strangely enough, it works perfect in mirror mode. anyone have an idea?

I purchased a Mac Book Pro a year ago.I have been connecting a monitor with HDMI cable but in the past month my monitor screen flickers off then on every few minutes.Eventually it will go blank completely and not come back on.I had thought it was my monitor so I purchased a new one and it still does it. I have connected to my fiends monitors and they do it. Each monitor will act a little different but the end result is the same.My apple warranty just ran out and I suspect its a hardware issue since I can replicate it. [code]

She has a 2008 Aluminum MacBook, the standard 2.0Ghz model. Occasionally when she moves the screen or tries to angle it, it flickers. This doesn't happen every time.
I honestly haven't tinkered with any Mac laptops once the unibodies came out, so I am hoping someone can shed some light, give some advice, and maybe throw out some ideas for repairs.
I was using my MacBook pro felt it charging and asleep for 4 hours. I came back and it won't turn on. When the battery is plugged in it flickers between yellow and green.

don't know what happen since few weeks ago. I just got a new MBP i7, and whenever the graphics switch from the Nvidia 330m chip to the Intel chip, the screen "flickers" black for a short moment before reappearing. Can anyone with a new MBP comment on this behavior? It doesn't happen on the switch from Intel->Nvidia, just the other way around.

I have read a few people say the new screens are less brighter than previous models and this has me very concerned? Of course I hope they actually turned up the brightness setting before making such claims.
Last week my macbook pro started have gray or blue screen problem, it won't boot all the time I turn on, instead I will turn into gray or blue screen and won't do anything else, the OS is to the latest version, and if it start normally it goes blue or gray screen everytime I use final cut pro, I mainly use this mac for editing videos, I try everything like safe mode, I even format the hard drive but the problem still there...
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo my old 15" early 2006 Macbook Pro (1,1) no loger recognizes the primary display. I can use an external monitor just fine, but when I go into System Profiler, it's like my primary display disappeared. I reinstalled Snow Leopard, reset PRAM, NVRAM, repaired my permissions, tried to update my mac, but litterally nothing I have tried has worked.
It started when I tried to install both Windows 7 and Ubuntu. After completing the Windows 7 installation, I restarted my computer and it just hung on the Apple logo. I could feel the fans begining to spin really fast and it felt like my laptop was on fire. I restarted my computer, let it cool down, and it hung at the Apple logo again. I rebooted it a final time, and nothing. Black screen. No backlight or image...nothing.

I have a Power MaccMac G4 that flikers (goes to sleep) even when am working on it. It will go to sleep and every minute or so. In the past it when to sleep and I could not repower the michine on(for about 4 weeks) I move/reconected all the cables and it powered on again, but now its starting to do it again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I was working in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop when my screen began to flicker like crazy and eventually froze. I could still move the cursor around but nothing would work. I couldn't force quit any of the applications or shut down the system. It eventually shut itself down and after restarting everything seemed normal. About 20 minutes later it did the same thing as I was switching between Safari windows using Expose'. (I recorded a small clip of the flickering and put it on youtube if that helps: [url]...?v=UBjRwRu4IOg ) After the second time this happened I again tried to start it up and it loaded to a gray screen, no startup chime, no apple logo. Nothing. I hit the power button and it shut down again. And the next time it booted all the way. I then shut it down with the intention of calling Apple Care today but apparently my Apple Care ran out in the last month or so. So, I'd have to pay $49 to talk to them about this issue. I thought I'd come here first.

After a few minutes of rebooting the machine i will use spotlight and it will be very flickery. Like when updating results, the blue bar flickers white and blue very quickly and almost unnoticeable. Also, related, when scrolling a list in the dock through a stack shown in list mode, it flickers a lot there as well. Is this normal behaviour for these machines/leopard in general? I'm used to using a crappy old iBook so i dont know if im just being pedantic.

Around Christmas my sister got a huge raise and bonus, which resulted in a flurry of new technology rushing into the household. All at the same time we set up a new wireless router, (for our wireless modem) an Xbox 360 and SnowLeopard for my MacBook Pro.
I noticed that late at night, after the Xbox had been turned off, my internet connection started getting strange. without the system acknowledging anything had happened (all 5 bars in the airport symbol, my AIM client still claimed i was connected) i would suddenly be unable to load anything (in any browser) or send or receive any IMs.
I would turn my airport off and immediately on again, then the problem would be solved. then, exactly five minutes later, it would happen again. I've been able to connect this "funky-internet phenomenon" as I like to call it, to the Xbox being OFF. I am a walking detector for when the machine gets powered down. this only happens when Xbox is off, and the second it is turned back on, my internet stops doing this.
I have an old 450mhz powermac g4 and about a billion old sticks of pc133 (and some pc100) ram.
So I have 3 128mb PC133 memory sticks, and when i put each in the powermac individually (as the only mem stick in the computer), they work fine.
However, if i put any more than one stick in the computer, it will turn on but not boot up or display anything.
