MacBook Pro :: Default Software (iMovie / IPhoto) Missing After Reinstalling OS

Jul 1, 2014

My Macbook Pro (Mid 2010 model, Purchase Dec 2010) was running slow recently. So I formatted the drive using Disc Utility and Re-installed OSX Mavericks.

I used the same Apple ID that was running on the system and product is also registered under this ID.

However, default softwares such as iMovie, iPhoto etc are missing from the system. I have re-tried but to no avail.

how I can re-instate the original softwares.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Reinstalling IPhoto From ILife DVD?

Feb 10, 2012

After i migrated back from my Lion clone after a clean Lion install, i have had issues with iPhoto. How can i totally remove iPhoto, or another iLife apps, so when i reinstall the software, there won't be several copies of iLife apps left? Where are the pkgs. contents, etc for the iLife Apps on Lion? Also have Airport utility installed several times, and i need to remove those as well.

Oh, and when i reset my TC, i know i need airport 5.6 to set it up, but should i keep it installed and still have airport 6.0 as well? Or should remove 5.6 after i set up TC and wifi network, then remove 5.6 and install 6.0 ?

MacBook Pro :: Editing IPhoto Videos In IMovie On MBP?

Nov 16, 2010

I used my iPhone 4 to record some video taken over a vacation in hopes of making a movie whenever I could. Today, I imported my videos from my iPhone into my Macbook Pro using iPhoto, and then iMovie automatically synced the videos just placed in iPhoto
First of all, I posted the exact same topic in the "Digital Media" section, however it's been about two weeks since, and I've received no response due to the section's user traffic, or lack thereof.

Now, my problem is that I recorded about 5-6 hours of footage and iMovie has it all in one location called "iPhoto Videos." Furthermore, whenever I click into that location (folder), iMovie lags ridiculously it's very hard for me to navigate between the various days as it's all compiled into one location/folder.

Also, I'd like to mention that I've made movies before, however they were neatly organized by date as I was able to import the footage straight to iMovie instead of iPhoto (using a digital camera with a video recording feature).

MacBook Pro :: Transfer IPhoto And IMovie Files To External USB?

Feb 19, 2012

Our family has had a Mac for about a year and recently we started getting warnings about space and Startup Disk getting full.  We have a 250GB drive and and have about 30GB free. Movies are taking up 121GB and Pictures 31GB. We want to move the iMovie files off the laptop after we create a DVD of our sons basketball season.  Recently my wife deleted files by going to iPhoto and selected multiple files and then pressed OPTION + COMMAND + DELETE, to remove them.  Afterwards iPhoto said it was updating library and was scanning like up to 84K of items.  We only had a library of 6K items. Once complete it did finally show about 1k items left.  I would really like to copy files to USB rather than delete them.  Help, how do you move these files to USB?

MacBook Pro :: Screen Resolution Degrades When Opening IMovie Or IPhoto?

Feb 27, 2012

I just bought a 15-inch MacBook Pro with the 2.5GHz Quad-core Intel i7 Processor and the non-glare LED screen.  I'm really impressed with the computer overall, which I purcahsed mostly with the intent of using for light-moderate video editing.

Ironically, whenever I open iMovie or iPhoto, the screen does this funny thing where it looks like it's interlacing only half of the full screen image and has a funny tint to it.  Is there anything that I can do to prevent this from happening?  It happens with and without the power adapter plugged it.

I'm trying to find what is making iMovie look for these files so I can clear out the reference. I tried searching for the file name and nothing comes up. I already know the file is missing, I'd just like iMove to stop looking for it.

I opened the file which opened in Quicktime and then I saved the file on my desktop and from there opened it in iMovie, but the resulting upload to Youtube was very poor quality even though it should have been 720p.
