View 3 RepliesI can't buy apps iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand there is mentioned instead of price only "accept" but when I clicked on it and wrote my Apple ID I received error message. My Mac Mini was bought from another person but fully reinstalled.

Completed a clean install of Lion on 2009 IMac and thanks to some help from the Community was able to reinstall Aperture, Logic Express and Final Cut Express, which were supplied on DVD with the original purchase of the IMac (the computer came with these softwares pre-installed). But what do I do about iPhoto, GarageBand and iMovie? Oddly, Lion doesn't include these, even though they were included with the initial computer purchase. The App Store wants to charge me for these, and my only option so far is to drag a copy (in this case GarageBand) from my backup drive, which generated a "Instrument Library in invalid!" error.

So i've recently gotten in the uploading to YouTube craze with my Flip Mino HD but i'm not too happy at the way i've been doing this and am hoping there is an easier way.
As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.
These are the two systems involved:
Host:
Mac Mini 2006 1,1
OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)
1.66GHz Core Duo; 2 GB 667MHz DDR2
Ethernet connected
Client:
Mac Mini 2007 (1,2)
OS X 10.7.4 (Lion)
1.83GHz Core 2 Duo; 2.5 GB 667 DDR2
Connected via WiFi
[code]....
Here's what I've tried: SMB and FTP sharing is disabled on the host. After updating the operating systems on both computers as far as they can be updated, permissions were repaired, new sharing usernames were created, firewalls are disabled on host and client.

I know it has been discussed sometimes, but I really can't get a real source of all files of these two programs. I've seen sometime ago some terminal command lines that would do all the trick, but I can't find it.
So, if you know them, or any other way to delete ALL files of Garageband and iMovie.
Basically I am a singer songwriter and have recently starting recording myself singing and using iMovie to record and Garageband to record me singing and putting the backing track in. I have no problem importing the Garageband file into iMovie, however I cant find how to make them go in sync - for example when I start singing in the GarageBand file isn't when I start singing in the iMovie video.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro OSX Lion. Iphoto and garageband was preinstalled. When I will update it, there is a dialogue box that appears "We could not complete your purchase, product distribution file could not be verified." So I put it in the trash and went to appstore to reinstall again, but it won't. I don't have those two apps for now.

We are using two different macbooks with the same account at the same time. I use OS X Lion but my sister uses OS X 10.6.8 I am having trouble with iPhoto and Garageband. I can't upgrade them. I type our family account but it says that I have to buy them. Why should I buy and pay some money for it? They have already been in my computer when I bought it.

I am setting up some new MacBook Pros for work and I want to install patches for all of the pre-installed software before distributing them.It looks like the GarageBand and iPhoto can only be patched through the App Store, which is requiring me to enter a credit card.Is there a way to patch these programs without a credit card?

I used my iPhone 4 to record some video taken over a vacation in hopes of making a movie whenever I could. Today, I imported my videos from my iPhone into my Macbook Pro using iPhoto, and then iMovie automatically synced the videos just placed in iPhoto First of all, I posted the exact same topic in the "Digital Media" section, however it's been about two weeks since, and I've received no response due to the section's user traffic, or lack thereof.
Now, my problem is that I recorded about 5-6 hours of footage and iMovie has it all in one location called "iPhoto Videos." Furthermore, whenever I click into that location (folder), iMovie lags ridiculously it's very hard for me to navigate between the various days as it's all compiled into one location/folder.
Also, I'd like to mention that I've made movies before, however they were neatly organized by date as I was able to import the footage straight to iMovie instead of iPhoto (using a digital camera with a video recording feature).
Some videos show up in imovie . But some dont for some reason . The ones i want , i cant get it into imovie for some reason . Anyone know why ?

I'm new with iMovie and this is all pretty damn confusing. I have a bunch of short nothing videos in my "iPhoto videos" area. but I can't seem to get to my newly added videos in iPhoto. I play them in iPhoto all the time, they're grouped by event and such but I can't for the life of me get them into the area.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running iMovie '09 (8.0.6) and iPhoto '09 (8.1.2) running on a late 2007 iMac with Snow Leopard (10.6.3).
I have dozens of avi format videos imported from my point and shoot digital camera in the iPhoto library and iMovie used to be able to see them. Not any more. It now recognizes only a handful from a couple of years back.
I want to be able to open my iPhone movies in iMovie so I can edit them in there. I know that I need to import my video into iPhoto and then from there open it in iMovie, but that is where I am stuck. I can import into iPhoto, but how do I then open it in iMovie. I opened the file which opened in Quicktime and then I saved the file on my desktop and from there opened it in iMovie, but the resulting upload to Youtube was very poor quality even though it should have been 720p.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy hard drive recently crashed, and I had to get a new one. When I got my computer back (from the reputable third party I had fix it), it was updated to mavericks. I guess the things on the drive couldn't be recovered, which is alright. I had most of it backed up. But I no longer have iphoto or imovie on the computer. I'm not sure why that is, and I checked the "purchases" folder in the appstore. There's nothing to download there. Is there some other way I can get my software back?

I have tons of video in iPhoto that are not playing. They show a preview thumbnail, then they show the "triangle and exclamation" error sign when clicked on. The same videos appeared in iPhoto as recently as yesterday and worked just fine. The same videos no longer appear in iMovie and it says that iPhoto has no video content.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've takes some videos with my digital camera. When I connect it to my Mac, iPhoto opens up and imports them, and I have all the videos in their own event.
When I open up iMovie 08 to edit these clips, they do not show up in the event library under iPhoto videos.
My iPhoto Videos are appearing in iMovie '09 with the wrong dates and times, but the dates and times in iPhoto are correct. Rather than adjust the info manually, is there a way of correcting it?
