I need to know how do I choose which programs should open when I start up my MacBook. At the moment the Office 2011 opens up all it's programs and I want to stop that from happening.

As stated above I upgraded my memory to Crucial 8G 1067 mhz DDR3. The initial results were outstanding however over the past few months the performance has decreased and I'm now getting the spinning ball often. Additionally the startup seems very sluggish. I use Onyx for maintenance and do not have any startup programs. I have also reset the kernel cache. (If I remember correctly)Â

Is there a way to add programs to the Open With Menu.For example, when you right click on a file you can choose to open it with the default application by selecting Open, or choose other programs to open it with by selecting Open With.Only a few of the programs that can open the files are listed.Is there a way to add programs that I use to list in that list.Right now, everytime I want to open something in a program that is not listed I have to go to Other... and find it in the Application folder. For example, I have VMWare with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 in it, my default application for WORD documents is Word for Mac 2011, but occasionally I need to open it in Word 2010 in Windows (Certain features that are missing in Mac Word), and I have to browse to fin the Word 2010 Application from the Application Folder.Another example is a program (from the App Store) called ResizeIt (which resizes photos), I have to browse for it everytime even though it is an application just for images.So, is there a way to edit the Open With Menu for specific file types to include these programs that I use, or do I have to keep browsing to the Application folder and finding it there?

I just fired up an older mac g4 for the first time in over a year with a different monitor then I had before. The problem is that when booted up I cant see the dock or the menu bar at the top on the monitor. my finder window opens but I cant open any apps. Or if I do they don't show in the monitor. I have tried several diff monitors, same story.

After reverting back to my old ID (url...), I cannot get the screens to change to allow me to log in with this apple ID. I have gone to the apple store to log in with this ID, changed the log ins at the apps and iTunes icon login screens, and zapped the PRAM. Yet, my old ID, digidov, still pops up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to OSX Lion and my only issue so far has been after a restart the airport icon and battery/power (time remaining icon) do not load in the menu bar for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute after the desktop has loaded. I will be get an IP address and establish a connection but I am unable to use the airport menu bar prefrences until the after I wait for the icon to load. It's rather annoying when I need to select a particular wi-fi SSID after startup.Â
