View 11 RepliesThis only happens when I choose to boot into windows. The screen sort of hangs for about 20 seconds in a black screen with an underscore at the top left corner before even starting to boot into windows. I know its normal for this to happen for like 5 seconds tops, but this is happening for about 20 seconds and its dreadful trying to boot into Windows 7 because it takes so long. When windows is done starting up i don't even get any messages saying startup failed or something like that. This is so annoying that I even reinstalled everything but the same thing happened.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBeen hitting the search and found that the Western Digital Scorpio Blue 1TB is a popular choice amongst MBP owners. Will this have any issues with the SMS? Also, can I expect any increase in heat and vibration, as opposed to the stock drive? Finally, I've heard a few people say that the bottom plate doesn't sit flush due to the extra height of the drive (12.5 - 9.5mm), is this true?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince updating the Windows 7 drivers with the Snow Leopard BootCamp version 3 I've noticed strange sound distortions coming from the left speaker of my iMac. This seems to be a driver issue because both under OSX as well with older drivers which came with Windows 7 RC1 the left speaker functions properly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm playing Left 4 Dead on Windows 7 x64. Frame rates are down compared to Vista x64 SP1. Not what I was expecting. Playing both on same low quality settings.
I'm running on a Radeon x1600 (MacBook Pro). As far I remember the graphics drivers are the same version under 7 and Vista (i.e. the Boot Camp driver).
One obvious thing I've noticed on a mac is the close window [x] minimize window [_] and maximize window buttons are on the right on a windows. On a Mac they are on the opposite left side. What I am wondering is there a way to switch those buttons on the left side on a Mac to the right. Which I am accustomed to it? It there anyway or is it just something, I will have to adjust to.
View 19 Replies View RelatedThere is some problem with my keyboard. Everytime I press the button k, this is what comes out: Also, everytime I press the left arrow, what happens is that instead of moving to the left for one character it moves all the way to the previous word. You may ask how I'm typing "k" now, Yes I'm using the infamous Copy-Paste. Please help me cause this problem is really irritating. By the way, on the mac, when I press k, this comes out: ˚ and the left arrow goes to the previous word. On the windows though, both keys do absolutely nothing. This is lame.

I started using my iMac today (not this gen the last gen) and it was fine yesterday but today it has been extremely slow. Its only a year old and now its suddenly taking 30 seconds to open up Finder and Mail and Chrome take a long time to start up. Also I noticed that the 3 buttons (red, orange, and green) at the top left of every window are grayed out.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy does the red button in windows' top left corner have different functionality in different programs? For instance in Messages, it closes the window but leaves the program running. In Reminders, however, it closes the window and the program and the same happens, for instance, in Disk Utility.
I am surprised that OS X-specific programs behave differently like this.

15 inch MacBook Pro. Internal speakers will not play. Output to headphone plug did work. Now I cannot insert headphones into socket, it seems to be too shallow. There is no red glow as mentioned in other posts. I had the red glow issue on an older MacBook and resolved it by inserting toothpick into socket and triggered switch. I have used command, option, r and p reset.

I took it to the local Apple Store and an associate suggested I back up my hard drive before bring it in for diagnosis. He suggested a 2 TB external drive but others have told me that is way too large. I have heard everything from nothing larger than a 500 GB drive and even one self proclaimed computer wizzard says I can get by with a 10 GB thumb drive. What is the right size and if it is a 1 or 2 TB drive, why do I need such a large one.
