When i am closing firefox or safari sometimes it leaves blurred remnants of the last image on the screen. If i click and make a window around the remnants irt will disapear but i am worried that maybe my video card is going.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis only happens when I choose to boot into windows. The screen sort of hangs for about 20 seconds in a black screen with an underscore at the top left corner before even starting to boot into windows. I know its normal for this to happen for like 5 seconds tops, but this is happening for about 20 seconds and its dreadful trying to boot into Windows 7 because it takes so long. When windows is done starting up i don't even get any messages saying startup failed or something like that. This is so annoying that I even reinstalled everything but the same thing happened.

I see since several months some shadows and spots on the top left corner of the screen. I've read in many threads that this is a known issue (defect I would say, since I never misused my iMac).Â

Switched the machine on today to notice that the left side of the screen is darker than the right. I have put the brightness on full to confirm this. Is it possible the LED backlight is failing?

I have 3 problems with my aluminum macbook and I think that they are all related and are caused by each other.1) The hinge creeks sometimes when I slowly close the screen and I'm afraid it will only get worse as this just started happening.) When the macbook is closed, the screen is uneven. The right side does not completely close and there is a gap between the base of the computer and the screen. However, the left side is just fine unless I push down on the right side then the left side just goes up and becomes uneven.

About a month ago I noticed that, within about 5 minutes of starting my computer back up from sleep the left half of the screen would flick and become darker than the lower half (about 4 clicks of the light button lower). Sometimes the screen will flick to become even darker than this (but usually it returns to the 4 clicks darker after a short while), and sometimes it returns to normal only to go darker again.

So far I've been selecting each one individually to bring it up, then closing it, then going back into expose to get the next one and do the same. Is there anyway I can just close windows while viewing them in expose without having to select them and exit expose?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering how uniform the backlighting is on everyone's mid-2010 MBPs. The screen on mine is sort of a gradient, with the screen becoming progressively brighter towards the left side. There are also what appear to be columns where the screen is slightly darker than the surrounding area. This makes it annoying to read in low-light conditions because the left side of the screen will be at a comfortable level when the right side is slightly too dim, or the other extreme. I absolutely cannot stand dead/hot pixels though which makes me hesitant to have the screen replaced. I just bought the notebook a week ago but I don't want it replaced, as I installed a Moshi PalmGuard before I noticed the screen issues. I also installed an InvisibleShield but I can have that replaced at no cost.

I don't lose any of my information though when it does that. It just goes into a sleep mode I guess? Anyways, is this a feature from the lion update? Something standard?

Is it just me or the macbook air has a problem with backlight? it's very very bright compare to my mbp 13.3 but it seems like the left part of the screen receive a lot more light than the bottom right of the screen. I notice that on the mbp pro but its worse on the mba. I have a rev2 1.86 with a 9400. In this review (in spanish) they check the brightness levels on the screen, and there is a difference between center and bottom right corner (340cd/m2 vs 215cd/m2)

Maybe two weeks into my purchase of and Aluminium MacBook, I spot something that looks like dust under my screen. I have tried scratching and nothing is there, as well as glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth. But it doesn't appear to be a dead pixel, as it's there when the screen/MacBook is turned off. It even looks like it's under the screen. It's in the middle horizontally, but more towards the left of the screen, yet still enough to be prominent.

After running it for about 5 minutes, the fans go CRAZY, the system doesnt get too hot though, the LEFT side of my screen starts flickering brightness, while the RIGHT side starts flickering colors. After a few more minutes of this, my screen goes completely black, I know the computer is still running, because I hear my music and the zombie killing me in Minecraft, but my screen, keyboard, and mouse dont seem to respond. I have double checked all drivers, I have updated BootCamp, and my next step was to reformat the drive, but that is my LAST resort.
