MacBook Pro :: 2011 Cursor Freeze Waking Up Since Upgrading To Lion?

Last week I upgraded my 2011 MacBook Pro (purchased July 2011) to 10.7.3. Now when I lift the lid to wake up the computer there is a several second lag time before the cursor can move. Under 10.6.8 the computer woke up instantly and the cursor was ready to use immediately. Is this a Lion bug and is there any work around, since I find this delay annoying? Not annoying enough to revert back to Snow Leopard, but I really liked how fast this computer is and don't appreciate Lion slowing down its wake up time. Nothing else seems slow since the upgrade, in fact applications seem to be opening even faster.

Why does my mac sometimes freeze when waking up? It only happens sometimes, but also happens spontaneously.21' iMac 2011 model.It just started recenlty after a new firmware update from apple.
I just purchased a brand new macbook air this past week. I noticed within the first day of using that if my machine went into sleep mode, and I hit a key to take it out of sleep mode, it would go to a black screen with my cursor for about 30 seconds.Â
It does not do it every time but enough that it is annoying. I am coming from a mid 2011 mac air that did not have any issues. (only replaced for all day battery)Â
Do you think this a hardware or software issue? If i swap this mac out do you think I will just encounter the same thing?Â
I have read numerous posts regarding waking from sleep issues but they all seem to be affecting MacBooks purchased between 2012 and 2013.Â
My apple keyboard is not recognized by my laptop anymore. I've tried resetting the PRAM and SMC to no avail. The keyboard is almost brand new so I doubt it's broken... how to troubleshoot this?Â
Has anyone had this issue upon waking up the mac, the mouse cursor isn't visible yet you can still click on things. It takes a few mins before the mouse cursor eventually becomes visible.
I just got a new macbook pro unibody a few weeks ago, and when i go to shutdown the mac, my cursor is stuck for a good 20 or so seconds and then i can finally move it to shut it down. This does not seem normal to me and am wondering if this is an isolated event or it happens to others? Is there a fix for it? Such as a new driver, reinstall, etc.
While online in either Safari or Firefox my cursor as I am navigating a page will suddendly freeze on screen. I them am forced to relaunch finder, then unplug my mouse from the keyboard and once again, relaunch the finder.Then the cursor will move again. Any solutions to this problem guys? This is really driving me nuts. It happens about 5 times an hour!
I repaired permissions, and this still occurs. I have a new insall of OS 10.7 as I purcahsed a new HD for my MacBook.how to reover or force a reboot when it hangs? Right now I am just holding the power button until the MacBook powers off.
I have a mid-2010 13" Macbook Pro. I wanted to upgrade to 8G of ram so I bought this: url...When it arrived in the mail I installed it and booted the laptop. The apple logo comes up, the spinner starts spinning and then after awhile freezes. I figured that I recieved bad RAM so I sent it back to apple and they sent me new memory. I installed the new ram and the same thing happened again. Booting in verbose mode (Apple-V) doesn't give anything useful.This time I decided to run memory tests. I booted into single user mode (which sees 8G of memory and works fine) and ran memtest overnight. It ran 6 or 7 passes without finding any memory errors.My next plan is to try to my DVD reinstall/repair the OS to see if that will help but I don't want to do that because I would have to downgrade to Snow Lepoard and then reinstall Lion and that takes long enough to try to avoid.

After I updated to OSX 10.7.4 Lion (Default 64bit).I try to use the touch panel device that I using before. But it keeping occur system freeze when I connect the usb cable.
My cursor freezes, and I'm not sure how to fix it or why it's occuring. It sometimes freezes when I'm in Safari, but, alas, I can't now recall if that is the only time it freezes. I'm using the 10.7.3 operating system and the latest Safari.
Everytime my computer goes sleep and I wake it up, I have to login with my password. It's a user account in OS Lion, but I can't see where to turn it off. Don't know how I got it set up this way, but I just want to go right back into wherever I was last, and not have to login.Â

Anyone come across this? I 've been having it a lot recently on my imac, not my pbook though, and I can't seem to find how to fix it... very strange behaviour, as soon as you start writing the cursor vanishes...make for some very hard writing I tell you...

if it is possible to upgrade the USB 2.0s on the MacBook Pro (2010) to USB 3.0s? I know the new Macbooks are dropping soon with 3.0s on em, and Instead of swapping out computers entirely, I am interested in upgrading my internals as far as I can, just to keep up with the curve and to increase my Macs performance. (2) will the new hardware work with Lion? Im not sure if there would be any type of hardware-recognition issues associated with the upgrade. (3) If not, would it likely work with Mountian Lion?Â
And Lastly (4), How is it done? Im sure its pretty straitforward after popping off the base plate and getting a look inside the Notebook, but Im actually going to purchace new RAM to increase the speed at which my Mac runs, and new USBs, and possibly even a boosted HDD to throw inside and Instead of taking the back off so many times, I kindof wanna do it all at once.I cant be the only one who wants to boost the USBs.Â

After waking up my computer from sleep I find that the screen saver always locks/freezes and becomes pixelated. I move my mouse around and it sort of "erases" the saver to reveal the login page underneath. This happens on my new iMac (2011) and now is starting to happen on my MacBook Air.
I'm running OS X Lion Server on a Mac Mini 2ghz Core 2 Duo and every time it wakes from sleep I get a message saying "There is already a computer on the network named MacServer, renaming to MacServer (2)".Â
It only happens when waking from sleep. If I reboot or use the mini for hours without sleeping it's fine, but once it's gone to sleep it renames on wake. When it sleeps overnight it's named MacServer (5) by the morning, as it wakes up every two hours or so to re-register itself on the network and each time it renames itself.Â
I don't have any other compters on the network with the same name. The only other computer is a MBP and has a completly different name. Here's my setup; My Mac Mini is wired via ethernet to a Time Capsule. AirPort is turned off (I've tried on and off).My Mac Mini has a static IP address (x.x.x.40) with DHCP for everything else (DNS, etc.)The Time Capsule is wired to an ADSL router via ethernet. The ADSL router manages DHCP and NAT, with IP pool x.x.x.2 through x.x.x.30. DHCP and NAT are turned off on the Time Capsule (bridged mode). Wireless is turned off on the ADSL router.Time Capsule is handling wireless.Â
I've tried resetting the ADSL router. I've tried resetting the Time Capsule (to factory defaults).Â
The problem seems to be with mDNSResponder, as the log seems to suggest that it is this daemon that thinks there's a duplicate computer name. I've even looked at the source code for mDNSResponder and the last mod-log entry suggests that a fix was put in for this issue in 2009. It doesn't look like it's fixed it, though.Â
I've tried doing a fresh install of OS Server several times now and, after the last install, it started happening before I got a chance to restore from a Time Machine backup. i.e. on a completly fresh install and assigning a completely new computer name.Â

Often when my mac mini wakes up from sleeping I can move the mouse cursor for a few seconds, but then I get the pinwheel/beachball of death and my mac will freeze for about 5 minutes. I've had this issue for at least the last 6 months. I have the latest version of Lion 10.7, my mini is less than a year old.
10.7.4 build 11E53 keeps resetting my desktop background colour after waking up. I have set it to a solid colour. No pictures or anything fancy. Everytime she wakes up, background colour is set to light grey.
Upgraded to OS X Lion, importing my mail messages is failing, tried several times and get always the message: The upgrade failed, an error occurred during the upgrade. The mail application is totally blocked. How can I resolve this problem?

Since downloading the newest version of OS Lion (currently using version 10.7.3) when I use the trackpad on my MacBook Pro if I use two fingers and drag down that now makes the screen image scroll up and vice versa. Does anyone else have this problem? It feels backwards to me and is the opposite of how I used to use two fingers to scroll upd/down before upgrading this afternoon.Â
My MacBook Pro has been running quite slow ever since upgrading from Snow Leopard to OS X Lion 10.7.3. Applications were already very slow to quit in Snow Leopard but are incredibly slow in Lion. I often have to force quit.
While my McBook Air was was updating some features of Mac OS X Lion; something went wrong with the network and the update failed a couple of times.After I shut down the pc and tried to start it up again, it seemed like it was starting up but it turns itself off. It just goes in the same loop of startuing up for 5 seconds and before the login screen, it shuts down.The apple logo appears and the turning stick runs a little then it shuts down.I tried to repair disk using disk utilities in the Lion Backup Option, it failed.As I did some research, I need to do it using an external source; but I was not able to create an USB Stick starter without having the OS itself.I try to open the command window in the beginning to start a disk check; but I cannot open the command window. No combination works.When I try to reinstall Mac OS X Lion, I can proceed uptill the point you select the hard drives; but all the drives are locked so I cannot select any of them.

I have had both my IMac and MacBook Pro freeze upon waking from sleep recently. Occurred only after installing latest Lion upgrade. Very frustrating since requires hard reboot ronin case of the MacBook Pro, reinstalling the OS. I have noticed similar complaints by others.
