My apple keyboard is not recognized by my laptop anymore. I've tried resetting the PRAM and SMC to no avail. The keyboard is almost brand new so I doubt it's broken... how to troubleshoot this?

I've started installing XP onto my iMac, and it's at the screen where it asks what partition it should be installed on. In order to select a partition, I'm supposed to use the arrow keys on my keyboard, but my keyboard doesn't seem to be recognized by the installer, as well as other keyboards I've tried. So now I can't install windows. How can I get it to work?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHave a iMac G5 with built in BT. I used it downstairs yesterday and took it back to the spare room where it usually is used. Fired it up today and I find that the BT mouse is fine BUT it ignores the keyboard. I tried; Replacing batteries. Checked that the suspect keyboard worked on my mac mini (it did). Tried my other BT keyboard on the iMac same problem. So, why does it recognise the mouse but not the keyboard? I do not have a USB Keyboard, so now I cannot Log in to fix it! I am guessing that the pairing has gone BUT surely it would simply see the keyboard as a new one and start setting it up. Something is stopping keyboards working with BT, very strange - could a loose BT module cause this? Or will I have to buy a USB Keyboard now to use my iMac?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen my laptop stopped recognizing my external keyboard and mouse I searched the discussions and found an answer that has worked, but only temporarily. It was to do a PRAM reset 3 times and when I do this the keyboard and mouse work fine. But when I disconnect the mouse and keyboard and then later reconnect it will not recognize them. I have repeated the PRAM reset 3 times each time this has happened (4 times) and they work fine but then there is always a problem when I disconnect and reconnect.

I am using Apple Remote Desktop to control a Mac OS X Snow Leopard system with a Mac OS X Snow Leopard system. On the computer being controlled, I launch Windows 7 through Parallels Desktop Mac version 6. Once the VM is launched, for some reason it doesn't seem to recognize the keyboard as it will not allow me to Ctrl-Alt-Delete. I can use Ctrl-Alt-Delete through the keyboard menu, but I cannot enter in my Windows password.

Last week I upgraded my 2011 MacBook Pro (purchased July 2011) to 10.7.3. Now when I lift the lid to wake up the computer there is a several second lag time before the cursor can move. Under 10.6.8 the computer woke up instantly and the cursor was ready to use immediately. Is this a Lion bug and is there any work around, since I find this delay annoying? Not annoying enough to revert back to Snow Leopard, but I really liked how fast this computer is and don't appreciate Lion slowing down its wake up time. Nothing else seems slow since the upgrade, in fact applications seem to be opening even faster.

I have a previous gen MacBook Pro (3-4 years old). I think it's 15 inch one. It had Snow Leopard installed until yesterday when I upgraded to Lion. It went smoothly, I downloaded it from the app store and followed it through. Then when I was installing iCloud it told me that I needed to upgrade iPhoto. So I went to the app store and bought the iPhoto and began downloading it. It was late so I just left the notebook plugged in overnight to do the download.
So this morning I tried to use this computer and it doesn't seem to respond at all. The screen is black and I can't wake it up. how can I get it back to a working condition?
I would like to upgrade to Lion, but my iMac doesn't have sufficient memory (1GB) What is the best way to add memory?

I launched the App Store app the other day and noticed under purchases that although Lion is listed as one of my purchases, the button to the right doesn't read "Installed" like my other purchases do. Instead the button says "Install". Lion already is.

I was installing windows with Bootcamp.so i started the installation process got past partition and now i am stuck on select cd-rom boot type no key board or mouse will work and i cannot eject the windows cd everytime i restart it goes to this screen..I tried a dell keyboard with usb and that didn't work any other suggestions.i feel like if i eject the cd it will help i just want to get back to Lion and all that awesome stuff on my computer.

First off I want to say I've been looking for answers for this on google for a few days, and I've found similar problems but none of the fixes have seemed to help me. Then again I may be doing something wrong. I've recently purchased a 500GB Momentus XT to replace the stock hdd in my early 2011 mbp 13".Originally placed the disk in an external usb 2.0 enclosure and made a clone of my the stock disk. I could boot fine from the momentus xt when being run from the enclosure.
Problems arose as soon as I tried to swap the drives around. Now I could boot fine from the stock drive (in the enclosure) but the momentus XT could not be booted from. I tried swapping the momentus back to the enclosure, and it still worked fine this way. I attempted to reset PRAM and Smc, and it didn't help me.
So I tried to reformat the drive, and to make a partition of 495.11g with the rest being empty space (I read this may help). I then put the momentus into the internal bay, in hope of booting osx from the original disk over usb, and migrating the data I needed over. Disk utility could not recognise there was even a disk in the internal bay (the momentus), just as before.I tried updating to lion (I was on snow leopard before) and turning it on again, but still disk utility couldn't even recognise the presence of the momentus xt when used in the internal bay.
I have noticed that I am having trouble updating the EFI firmware to version 2.7. Every time I try, it runs through the installation, restarts, says install was complete. But when I go to system update, it still lists this as an update, and system profiler still says I'm on the older version. Yes, I have tried updating it using the package from the apple website, it is no different.

After updating to snow leopard my quicklook doesn't work anymore. Whenever i select a file and hit space the quicklook ui pops up but it doesn't actually show any content so I'm just stuck with a grey box.

I wonder if you can suggest something? My MBP currently doesn't recognise the printer I have (HP OfficeJet 6210, which has worked before with this computer). In fact the list of printer models under "add printer" is now empty. So it doesn't detect any printer and I can't suggest any printer for it to detect. I just bought this mac pro and it intermittantly will recognize its bluetooth card. it is really annoying, seeing as i use the bluetooth mouse as well as keyboard. Whenever I restart after about 10 times, I have bluetooth.
