I find direct to vimeo uploads useful from FCPX because clients can view/stream or download files depending on their requirements.
But since I upgraded to 10.1.3 the uploads fail about 50% of the time. Error message "Upload to vimeo failed. Request timed out".Â
I can't find anything wrong. Is it just a bug with this version of FCP?Â
I'm aware the workaround is quite simple (Share to disk then upload from there) but due to the volume of stuff I'm exporting (e.g. testing 60 different music tracks on the same 30 second film) the direct upload shortcut can actually save me large amounts of time.
I'm considering getting my wife the new MBA for Christmas this year. I'm going to get her the 13", but I was considering going with the 128GB version to save some money.
My question is would I be able to upgrade the drive to a larger size down the road? I know Apple overcharges for stuff like this and I'm comfortable doing these types of upgrades myself if it is possible.
I will purchase a mac tomorrow. How do I avail the up-to-date upgrade when mountain lion comes? can the upgrade that I will get be installed to my other mac?

Just got my up to date disk but it says 'upgrade dvd' - can I use it to do a clean install? (not keen on upgrades!) Also, anyone got a list of what I'd need to copy back over from time machine for all my personal files/documents/emails etc - is it just my home folder?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a folder where I place an ever growing collection of my favorite songs. Before I switched to Mac, on Windows, when I wanted to revisit songs I most recently added to the folder, I would sort the songs by the Date Modified and it would order the files I placed in the folder by date.
In OSX, however, there must be a slightly different meaning to "Date Modified," as it does not quite sort my songs by the order they were added. It gets some of it right, but there's plenty of files that are out of order--tune "x", which I know was placed in the folder a week ago is actually listed further down the list with songs placed in the folder months ago.
Is there a way to have OSX sort files in order of the date it was placed in a folder? Neither "Date Modified" nor "Date Created" works 100% as I thought it would. Or is the OSX definition of Date Modified/Created slightly different than Windows?
I've noticed recently that when in Finder, all folders/files have a Modified Date of somewhere in January 2009 or January 2008, regardless of when it was actually modified/created. My clock at the top left-hand corner says Oct 20 though. Any thoughts?

I've had this 750 GB external drive for a year or two now, and have used it with no problems. All of a sudden, it can't be read by my MacBook. Finder can't see it. No applications can see it except Disk Utility. But DU can't repair it, and when I try verifying I just get "Verify volume failed: Invalid request." Also, when I'm using DU normally, I can't even eject the drive. But if I boot from my Mac disc, I can. But that's the only difference; still no repairing or verifying, and I get the same error message.

I am on Tiger 10.4.11 on Mac Book Pro Intel duo. All updates except for Parallels installed. Have run permissions repairs and preferential treatment. Tried to delete preferences for system ... Every time I try to uncheck the box marked or open the Date and Time preferences, it freezes and have to force quit.
So I shut down my computer earlier today for the first time in weeks. I restarted it and then left for a few hours for dinner.
I come home and I look at the last time MobileMe Sync and Time Machine did their things. They say they did them at 7:45. I look at the clock on my cable box and on my iPhone, both say 6:45.
Weird that the MacBook's time is wrong. I go into Time Date settings. I see that when the MacBook does the "Auto locate where you are so that we can set the appropriate time zone, etc. the MacBook things I'm in Rexford, Idaho.
I haven't been to Idaho in about 25 years, and my MacBook has been sitting in Southern Kalifornia for the last one year since I bought it.I've tried to have the MacBook auto-locate again, and it keeps finding me us in Rexford, idaho.
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a G4 iBook. Somehow my Time & Date files got corrupted which prevented me from getting on to the internet. When I discovered the problem, I threw them away, thinking a restart would create them again. I was wrong.
Now my computer doesn't know what time or year it is, causing various problems. I don't have back-up 10.5 disks to extract the time & date package. Can I download a replacement anywhere?
Or can someone email the files to me? I don't know what they're called but, if you search time and date, there are only two (and please tell me what folders they're in too)
Starting yesterday, I cannot load Time & Date (either from System Prefs or from the menu bar). I get the beachball and I have to Force Quit System Prefs.
I tried Repairing Permissions and rebooting but it didn't help.I tried deleting .plist entries (as per a related thread on the Internet) and rebooting and that didn't work either.I tried logging off and logging in with another account and the problem is still there.I hope I can get some help because it's driving me nuts. I travel a lot and need to change my time zone. If you need a crash report from me, please tell me how to get it from Console bc I don't know where to look for it!
P.S. I am using old OSX 10.4.11
I have a late 2007 24" Al iMac, 2.4GHz, with a BT Mighty Mouse. Tonight, for the first time ever, I got two separate dialog boxes titled "Bluetooth Pairing Request", one from Ana and one from Lydia. Neither of these are my names. I recently moved into this apartment complex. Could the pairing requests be coming from a neighbor?
To answer myself, I think it is coming from a neighbor. I just went into the BT menu and clicked on Set Up Bluetooth Device. It didn't find my MM, but it did find a couple of mobile phones with the above names. Anyway, I rejected those two original pairing requests. I also have Airport turned off. So I don't think anyone can access my iMac.
I bought a new Macbook Pro (13 inch 2.9 ghz) on June 15th and I had had heard nothing about the ability to request the new Mac OS X software lion for free until just now....can i still redeem it for free since I have the new Mac?

I have a new MacBook Air (one week old). I have set it up with all of the expected access to iCloud, iTunes, etc. Just now I went to the App Store to buy a $15 app. When I clicked the buy button, I was asked to enter my Apple ID and password. I did. Then I was asked again. I did. Then I was told I had to enter my 3-digit credit card code. I did. Then I was asked to enter my Apple ID and password. I did. I got my software. I also got an email from Apple saying that I just updated my shipping and billing address, something I didn't do.Â

I have just purchased my new iMac having made the leap from PC. Overall I love my new machine (and the iPhone and Apple TV that accompany it...) However, in a bid to recoup some of the large outlay, I was seeking to list lots of things on eBay this weekend. However, at what appeared to be almost every other key stroke/action I was returned to the home screen and asked for my login details again, and again, and again! Clicking the 'remember me' box made no difference whatsoever.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just logged in to my system after restarting and immediately, before opening anything (other than Finder), was presented with a request for admin credentials, I think saying something about a change to my login preferences, which didn't make a lot of sense to me.
Any idea what would cause this, or how to make sense of the logs to see what exactly prompted it?
I installed Flash and Adium on this new machine this morning - would this have anything to do with it? I'm unaccustomed to getting the security prompt at unexpected times and now very nervous.
About a week ago I had my iBook G4 freeze and display a message that said I need to shut down by either holding the power button for a few seconds or by pressing the restart button (white letters on black screen in 4 languages). I did, it rebooted and ran again. I started to get this on a more frequent basis until this morning the machine would reboot, start to run, would lock up again and then repeat the cycle.
It did not seem to correlate to what I was doing - mostly I Net and E Mail - and was not impacted by running on battery or AC. I tried to run Onyx to "clean" up the software but the program would start to run and then the system would freeze. The Restart Request Screen was not accompanied by any other indications of a problem.
I don't ever see rubbish like this on my mac - A POP up with no exit cuesÂ

This is definately not right. It has no label and no buttons to close or remove so I'm fairly sure its dangerous.  How do I get rid of this blasted thing? I cant find out what or where it is? Â
