I already configured Icloud and I can find on maps devices sucha as Ipads, Iphones and Mac´s, but something is happened with my own MacBook Pro, I cant locate it on the Maps, I only see the image of the MacBook Pro and the instruction for locked it or send a message. I did all troubleshooting explained on support web page (location activevated on security, etc) and the problem still remains.Â

If someone maliciously runs the "Remote Wipe" feature from an iPad/iPhone against your computer or laptop, is the data recoverable (with something like Data Rescue), or does it run a secure wipe with n times overwriting of files?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen using the Disk Utility free space wipe to wipe sensitive data (using the 7 times option), I thought that would be sufficient.
I was wondering though, does the free space wipe option also wipe the slack files on the hard drive? Is this even an issue for a Mac? (I know on Windows the slack file needs to be wiped for a completely secure erase, right?)
I know I can use my iPhone to find other iPhones, even my Macbook, but how do you use a Macbook to find a phone?

I downloaded find my iphone app on my Ipad. I have no problems finding my MacBook from it. I tried to download find my Iphone on my MacBook. But after it is installed, I can't find it. I updated my MacBook to OS X 10.9.4, which is Maverick, and now when I try to plug my iPhone in nothing will appear, all it will do is charge the phone. My phone is updated to iOS 7.1.2 and I cant find a new update. I need to get pictures off my phone not only because my phone is telling me my storage is full but I use my camera for many things and need to be able to put many pictures on my computer at once without having to find another way to do it.

me and my grandma are planning on getting a family pack MobileMe account to save money instead of having two accounts. She has a trial account currently, so from what I understand is tomorrow I go buy the family pack box set, set up my account (which will be the master account), cancel her account (disable synching on her iPhone before hand), add her account under account options in my account, and viola. Now here's my question:Since we will both be on the same 'family pack,' will she be able to view my emails, find my iPhone, pictures, or anything else? And vice versa. What I'm hoping is that even though they are in the same family pack, you will have to log in with each specific account (via password) to see mail, contacts, etc

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8r to use with Logic 9 on my MacBook Pro, but unfortunately it is not compatible with OS X 10.7.4 , and the latest version that it works for is OS X 10.7.3.Â
I really need this audio interface to work as if I can't get it to work then all the money that I have spent on recording equipment is wasted. Is there any way of me reverting my MacBook Pro back to the 10.7.3 version? And if so, is it going to cause compatibility issues with any of my other software? (I have a horrible feeling that it might)Â

I am syncing all of my music library to my iPhone via iTunes on a MacBook Pro. There are only a very few albums not showing up. These have NOT been bought off iTunes - they are older than iTunes I put them on the computer from CDs.But for the same artist - about half of the music shows up - it seems to be whole CDs that don't. I tried highlighting the songs and making sure they actually had an artist - they do. They have albums listed, too. I have no idea what is going on. This is also on my husbands phone - but for a different artist (different computer, too and he has an iPhone 4s, I have an i4)Â

I have a iPhone 4 (running 4.2.1) that I used sparingly so I never synced/updated the firmware. I finally decided to update the firmware, but am running into the following problem. On the summary tab for the phone in iTunes, I see "A newer version of the iPhone software is available (version 4.3.5). To update ..."
when I click the "Update" button, it just open the file browser (I'm assuming to find the firmware file.) I looked in the ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/ and the directory does not exist. Searched the entire filesystem for other download locations (search for iPhone, .ipsw etc.), didn't have luck.
A couple of things that I find strange:
1. Not sure why the available version is 4.3.5 and not 5+ (maybe there's no direct upgrade path from 4.2.1 -> 5+)
2. I never looked for the updates manually, perhaps iTunes detected it on startup.
In any case, it seems like iTunes *thinks* it already downloaded the lastest version, but can't seem to find the downloaded file and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to force iTunes to try redownloading. I don't think it's a version issue. OSX: 10.6.8. iTunes: 10.6.1. I've tried rebooting, altering the order of starting itunes and plugging in the phone etc. without any luck. Am I just out of luck or am I missing something obvious?

I'm working via Safari on an online jigsaw puzzle at http://six.flash-gear.com/npuz/puz.php?c=v&id=3274406&k=25952437.  The computer zoomed in on the puzzle...a Mac-based zoom-in menu appeared and accidentally flashed on "zoom in"...and now I cannot undo the zoom. All normal methods fail, and part of the puzzle is off-screen. I don't know how to see the rest of the puzzle now. I thought perhaps deselecting "show all" would help, but it won't let me deselect either.
