I am using Mac Leapord laptop. I want to write an apple script that will clear the history of "Finder" and "Quicktime".
If I know what are the files associated with history from terminal, I can just delete those files using apple script to clear them.
Where can I find history related to finder and quicktime in file system of Mac?
I am new to my Mac and want to know who to clear the history in my "Today" folder in Finder. To be clear, I don't want to remove the Today folder but just clear the contents of the applications that I have opened.
On a side note, I would also like to know how to set up finder so that the "Today" folder won't show that I have opened anything (rather then having to go back and remove the history after the fact).
i need to clear all the history from quick time, preview and recents?

This is probably very simple, but how can I remove the history that resides in Safari's address bar?
I guess I could "reset Safari", but then I'd lose all my cookies, and I don't want to do that.
I already emptied the cache, cleared history, restarted Safari, even turned on Private Browsing. The darn address bar history is still there.
does any one now how to clear the search history in sidebar?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've just updated safari v5.1.7 and the clear history button does not reset the page. I use Ebay and when you go into an item the title goes to pink and usually clear history resets it to blue. But I've just done un update and now it's not working.

My activity monitor says I'm suing 122.43 GB of virtual memory. I'm sure that the number is much, much less. But I would still like to reset the virtual memory.
Are there any terminal commands to rest the vm?
I hope this hasn't been covered elsewhere (I can't find it if it has).My problem is that the history setting although set to " Remove history items after one day " does not. I Have reset Safari 4.0.3 and it still doesn't delete the history. Applecare can't seem to solve the problem either. Please help, although this isn't a major problem it is very annoying. This was happening before SL and I was hoping SL upgrade may have fixed this but it hasn't.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got a MacBook Air, running 10.7.3 and noticing that on many web sites (firefox and safari are the same), the images just are not clear. They are a bit fuzzy, and some have some sort of weird border around them. I have attached a screen shot of the amazon home page. Notice the weird gray area around the letters and images? Is there a setting or something that can make this better?

I have a Macbook Pro 15" from Mid 2010 and today I went and bought a Mini displayport to HDMI connection so I could use a TV as a monitor and clamshell.
The TV is an Emerson LC220EM1. Which is a 22" monitor.
I am having problems getting the TV to have clear resolution, It is okay, but its definitely not as clear as it could be.
Also when I put them in mirror mode, the top bar is cut off on the external monitor.

My disk utility is not showing any history or notes of any kind when I try and repair or verify permissions. This is a new devlopment, I used to get a lot of notes about issues being fixed or being unfixable. My computer is also running slowly - particularly firefox and mail. No other issues to note. I have a MacBook Pro running on 10.5.8
I am wondering what course of action is best to take next. I could buy a copy of disk warrior.
I could also upgrade to Snow Leopard.
