how to delete finder history...??

Would like to know if some one can help me out to delete the files history in finder. Not in the browser.
Info:
iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
I found this in archives, but it did not help. I want to delete history. I have FF set to delete history after zero days, and I can "clear private data", but when I start to type in the browser window history pages appear in a drop-down. I unchecked the FF box for storing things I typed in boxes. If I go to "tools" I get > Web search, Downloads, Add on's, error console, page info, clear private data.Preferences is under "firefox" tab.I say all that cause the forums all say look under "tools" for "clear History".It's not there. There is no specific "clear history".The "clear private data" is not clearing out everything, just the stuff in the history viewer, but that is not there anyway as it stores for zero days.

I am using Mac Leapord laptop. I want to write an apple script that will clear the history of "Finder" and "Quicktime".
If I know what are the files associated with history from terminal, I can just delete those files using apple script to clear them.
Where can I find history related to finder and quicktime in file system of Mac?
I am new to my Mac and want to know who to clear the history in my "Today" folder in Finder. To be clear, I don't want to remove the Today folder but just clear the contents of the applications that I have opened.
On a side note, I would also like to know how to set up finder so that the "Today" folder won't show that I have opened anything (rather then having to go back and remove the history after the fact).
Tools > Clear Private Data > Select All, only seems to delete everything back to a certain date. So when I start to type Google in the address bar, I get some stupid old Google search from a few months back. It happens with some other older sites too. What can I do to erase all my history? I'm not covering my tracks or anything, just have some annoying things pop up in the address bar that aren't relevant.

I have gotten tired of having to drag files to the trash, instead is there a way i can send it to the trash without having to drag it?
After searching a lot i found i could do it if i held cmd + backspace, but that requires two hands and means i have to take my right hand of the mouse, instead can't i just use the delete key instead of cmd+backspace?
I downloaded this application for my iPhone which installed itself into my applications folder. Soon after I downloaded it I decided I didn't really want it and tried to delete it, but it kept on saying "Unable to delete" cause it was in use or something. I did look at some threads giving advice on this subject and tried some other ways of deleting it but nothing happened and the file name is now "deleteme.rtf.app". Whenever I try Terminal it says there isn't a file on the desktop and I've made 100% sure all the letters are the right spaces apart etc, so now I'm stuck.

I hope this hasn't been covered elsewhere (I can't find it if it has).My problem is that the history setting although set to " Remove history items after one day " does not. I Have reset Safari 4.0.3 and it still doesn't delete the history. Applecare can't seem to solve the problem either. Please help, although this isn't a major problem it is very annoying. This was happening before SL and I was hoping SL upgrade may have fixed this but it hasn't.
