Every since I�ve updated to Snow Leopard my amsn has been crashing, a lot. And besides that I can�t get video calls, or at least share web cam with anybody any more, either it will crash or I�ll be able to see the other person, but the other person won�t see me.I�ve updated to the latest 0.98 version, but no luck whatsoever. I�ve been searching for help, but all the answers I�ve got were related to Linux.

I have a mini i7 with a Logitech HD Pro webcam. The person at the other end gets a bad echo of themselves when video chatting. The issue is on my side, not theirs. Tried face time and google talk. Even tried two different web cams. My wife's iMac has a check box to "use ambient noise reduction" my mac mini doesn't have that option. How can I fix this. Surly there are mac mini owners using webcams?

I'm more than a little annoyed at this point with Microsoft Messenger 8. I absolutely cannot run a video call. When sent the invitation from a contact, I can answer, but there is no sound nor video. And when I send the invitation, it never arrives or loads. This has been going on for ages, and I am absolutely boggled as to what it is.

I'm a first time iMac and skype user. I downloaded skype 2.7 earlier today and managed to do a video call for 30 minutes without any problems. However, after trying to use it again 3 hours later, my iMac keeps shutting down everytime I make a video call. None of my video calls last more than a minute before my computer shuts down. I tried reinstalling skype from scratch again but t didn't work. Even the beta version failed to solve the problem. I'm new to both iMac and skype.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI don't know much about this. I'll explain it as good as possible: I have a macbook (leopard) and I'm trying to use the aMSN. At first I was able to do it, but then I moved out and it doesn't work here since then. My roomemate operates the windows laptop wirelessly, so do I the mac, but I do have acces to the modem/router. I tried changing the attributes of the router (a westell versalink A90-750015-07 provided by verizon) and nothing happened. Then I read that I could try selecting : connecting using HTTP method, and I finally was able to log in, however I am not able to send or receive any messages. I see when contacts come online but they just don't receive my messages nor I get theirs. I noticed that the connection tab on aMSN says. Type: IP-restrict-NAT and also "you are firewalled or behind a router. So far, none of the methods explained here have helped.

I was downloading Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare to my MacBook, from App Store, and I'm not able anymore. Due to problems in my internet, the download was stopped and resumed several times. Now, I have my internet fixed but I cannot download the app anymore. When I hit INSTALL it seems like it will start but simply disappears from my Launchpad, without any error message. I installed Snow Leopard on my mother's MacBook at the weekend and, after updating the software, I immediately logged into the Mac App Store, with her AppleID to buy Lion.I used my credit card to pay for it.I saw earlier today that when she logs onto the Mac App Store it welcomes me instead of her.I assume this is because of the name on the credit card, but I want to ensure that the Lion OS is indeed in my mother's name and not mine - registered to her AppleID.I was going to upgrade to Lion myself later in the week and I don't want there to be any confusion between the two purchases.Does the Lion purchase belong to the AppleID, irregardless of who pays for it?

So my issue is that sometimes I just want to watch another person on cam on iChat but when I disable my camera it disables their ability to send me a one way video chat. Is there any way I can turn my cam off and still view theirs? I feel like iChat is forcing me to be on cam.

I'm sure all of the other business professionals in this forum can agree that Excel for PC truly is the application of the business world, allowing a vast array of different functions to be performed.
However, I am simply not satisfied with Micrsoft Office for Mac 2008. I know a lot of this has to do with the suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) being designed to run on Mac OS X, as opposed to a Windows operating system, but the feel and functionality is completely different.
Therefore, I am considering purchasing iWork when a new version is released.. this will allow me to perform different business operations on my Mac while I don't have access to Excel for PC. I will therefore avoid the frustration of Excel for Mac.
As a businessman or businesswoman, would you recommend iWork? How do you cope with needing to perform different complex business operations when you do not have access to Microsoft Excel for PC?
I have just upgrade to iPhoto 09 (a bit late i know) i manually tag 20 photo of myself (very certain photo quality is fine), but iPhoto keep saying "XYZ may also be in photos below. No matches found" i try tagging another person, same result i have over 10,000 photos loaded in iPhoto, a lot of them displaying clear head shots... anyone know what might be the problem?
