I am currently using Mac OS X 10.7.3?I am trying to add multiple birthdays in my Address Book under one person, thier family members and I want it to sync with iCal. I also did not see the Anniversary option in Address Book?

I installed Snow Leopard on my mother's MacBook at the weekend and, after updating the software, I immediately logged into the Mac App Store, with her AppleID to buy Lion.I used my credit card to pay for it.I saw earlier today that when she logs onto the Mac App Store it welcomes me instead of her.I assume this is because of the name on the credit card, but I want to ensure that the Lion OS is indeed in my mother's name and not mine - registered to her AppleID.I was going to upgrade to Lion myself later in the week and I don't want there to be any confusion between the two purchases.Does the Lion purchase belong to the AppleID, irregardless of who pays for it?

I'm sure all of the other business professionals in this forum can agree that Excel for PC truly is the application of the business world, allowing a vast array of different functions to be performed.
However, I am simply not satisfied with Micrsoft Office for Mac 2008. I know a lot of this has to do with the suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) being designed to run on Mac OS X, as opposed to a Windows operating system, but the feel and functionality is completely different.
Therefore, I am considering purchasing iWork when a new version is released.. this will allow me to perform different business operations on my Mac while I don't have access to Excel for PC. I will therefore avoid the frustration of Excel for Mac.
As a businessman or businesswoman, would you recommend iWork? How do you cope with needing to perform different complex business operations when you do not have access to Microsoft Excel for PC?
I have just upgrade to iPhoto 09 (a bit late i know) i manually tag 20 photo of myself (very certain photo quality is fine), but iPhoto keep saying "XYZ may also be in photos below. No matches found" i try tagging another person, same result i have over 10,000 photos loaded in iPhoto, a lot of them displaying clear head shots... anyone know what might be the problem?

Quick question about Faces in iPhoto '11: I have some pictures of a specific person, say Vicky, and her face is linked with an Address Book entry. Now, when I find a new picture of Vicky, and type "V", the usual name list comes up but now there are two Vickys: the address book one, and the Facebook one (and they are really the same person). How do I make iPhoto "link" the address book contact with the facebook contact?

Tried face time and google talk. Even tried two different web cams. My wife's iMac has a check box to "use ambient noise reduction" my mac mini doesn't have that option. How can I fix this. 1. Just changed the modem, so that isn't the problem. Mail now wont' send emails - just malfunctioned. Is anyone getting this happening? Has done it for twice - I've looked at settings - just says it is now offline.
2. Mail programme is not adding attachments correctly. Had 2 people say documents weren't attached that should have been.
Is this just a glitch on my machine or is there something else going on?
I have noticed that company entries in the Address Book don't seem to work like "person" entries in Mail. If I have a "person" named (for example) "John Doe", I can email that person just by typing "John Doe" in the To: section, and selecting from a list that populates automatically. However, if the address-book entry is for a company (e.g. Dave's Florist), it doesn't seem to work at all. And since Mail doesn't seem to have "address" functionality that lets you select from the Address Book, it seems like the only option is to go into the address book, copy the e-mail address, to back to mail, and paste.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI VNC to my iMac all the time (usually from iPhone with Jaadu, sometimes from another Mac with Leopard's Screen Sharing function: Connect to Server vnc://....) But lately it only works for a couple of days. After that, the remote computer's screen goes black and accepts no input. (But I can see/move the mouse cursor.) Once I get home from whatever trip I'm on, I then see that it's the same in person: all-black, no response to clicks or keys. I can move the mouse but I can't do anything at all. There's no solution except to force power-down.
For security, I run the "Computer Name" screensaver with password lock. The first time the black screen appears I see just a flash of the password dialog and then it's gone. After that, I never see anything but black (and the mouse arrow). The remote computer is NOT crashed, because it accepts the VNC connection request and password, and because it keeps churning out work from Folding@Home (which I can see on my stats page). But after a day or two away (maybe one VNC session per day) the screen and input are gone. Anyone else see this? (The only two changes made to that system lately: a new version of EyeTV software--but it's not recording or anything. And the 10.5.7 update. I'm guessing it's something new to do with 10.5.7.)
