I just upgraded to iTunes 10.6.3 on my MBP running Lion. iTunes is HOGGING my memory and making my MBP run VERY HOT. When i try to quit the process from the activity monitor it immediatley restarts.?

I'm sure most people suffer from this but here goes.
So I make a presentation on Mac Office powerpoint, everything is fine. I open it up at university on the PC, all is fine. I maybe change some text on a slide and save it again. Open the same file again on my Mac, and it won't open some silly error comes up saying trouble accessing file from mac HD.
Then luckily I have keynote, so I just open it in that and use that.
Point is why does this happen?? Whilst keynote is better, sometimes I have to edit things on a PC at work or uni and then it becomes a giant mess on my mac.
Is there a quick fix, or will I have to throw Mac Office into my growing pile of Microsoft related garbage.
I got my new Office Mac, and I was hoping to install it. It said Firefox and Safari needed to close. Firefox was a snap (good job guys!), but Safari is doing HORRIBLE. It is not forcing to quit at all, and I don't want to restart or shut down (I bet it wouldn't work.) Now, according to THIS issue... I can't install my Mac Office 2011, and THAT on the other hand stinks, because I need it for school projects.

I am having a situation where I will "quit" an application and it closes but then it leaves a grey screen that I cannot interact with or make go away. When I scroll between the various screens there is a blank grey screen where the application that I just closed used to be. When I use my track pad to show me all of the screens that are open it shows the application that I was in (e.g., itunes) but shows it as a grey screen that cannot be closed unless I restart my computer.

It only bounces once in the dock and says "App Quit Unexpectedly.."
I tried to reinstall it with a .pkg but it's the same result...I can restore the application with the restore disk if I have to...But all the other iLife apps work...
I accidentally quit finder instead of Safari this morning and now Finder will not open. I still have it in the dock but nothing will work. I also do not have the toolbar at the top either. I can still open the other icons on the dock and use them so I can get on Safari, Ical, etc. I thought I did this once before but I can't remember what I did to rectify the situation.

Recently I have been unable to quit Safari, it starts running really slow and when I try to quit and restart nothing happens. The 'Quit' command under 'File' is greyed out and right clicking in the dock doesn't reveal 'Force Quit'; only 'Quit' shows but that doesn't work. The only solution is to re-boot the computer. This has happened a number of times recently.

It's impossible to quit iTunes, force quit neither. It stays active, with force quit it appears again.

I have some software such as mail, text edit running and suddenly it stop responding. The mouse cursor keep on spinning for a long time. What you normally do is hit Option + Command + Esc to force quit the software. After i've done so. The software crashed and ask you to send in the crashed report and everything else is very normal. But the software dint actually quite. i can still see a small indication (at the dock) below the icon that the software still running and when i hit Option + Command + Esc again. I still can see the software in the force quite dialog, it doesn't report it as stop responding. When i check the Activity Monitor, there is nothing there.

-About 10 minutes ago I inserted my memory stick into my keyboard, and then connected to Cisco.
-I then tried to connect to my school's server and while the progress bar was loading I opened InDesign.
-The Indesign icon started doing it's little jumping thing but nothing was happening. I minimized my browser to look at the progress bar and it was still trying to connect to server. I waited about 2 minutes and when nothing happened I tried a force quit.
-It said that InDesign was not responding so I Force Quit it and nothing happened.
-I then tried to shut down the progress bar but I had that infuriating pinwheel going.
-I decided on a manual shutdown.
-I then turned the computer back on.
-Repeated the same steps except that this time Force Quit said my Safari AND Finder was not responding.
-I Force Quit Finder first. Then Force Quit Connecting to server but all of a sudden my desktop items disappeared as well as my toolbar at the top.
-I tried another manual shutdown because I couldn't call up my Force Quit with my shortcut keys and waited a minute.
-Turned my computer back on but the screen hadn't changed it was as if I had merely put my computer to sleep. I tried this twice.
-Then I turned it off again and this time unplugged my computer and waited a couple seconds.
-I am now on my third try and am afraid to connect to my school's server. I have only opened Safari to type this. I have an assignment due tomorrow!
Unable to close Safari at the drop down menu because Quit Safari is greyed out. When I right click on the icon in the tray and click on Quit, nothing happens. Therefore, I cannot restart or shut down this computer.

I was trying to open Printer Pro but it doesn't show up in the finder and when I tried to put it in the trash it says it can't throw it away because it's open. The forced quit dialogue box does not list it as open. What do I do?
