MacBook Pro :: Compatible Program To Do PowerPoint Presentation?
Feb 17, 2012
I a new mac used and have to do a powerpoint presentation, how? Is there a compatible program? I have the pages app but don't see a powerpoint type program. Is there powerpoint app?
I've been asked to put together a very large PP presentation with hundreds of pictures. Putting all those pictures in the PPP one at a time is daunting. Does anyone know of a way to add them all at once or at least a bunch at a time? What I'd like to do is add all the pics into a single file and then import them into the PPP. Is this just wishful thinking?
All I can find on the subject is that if the pics are already in PP form from other presentations that they can be imported at once. Of course, that isn't the case in this situation.
About 3 times a year I get to do a PowerPoint presentation, so I know just enough to get into trouble with it on my Mac. If we get to discussing any one slide too long, my Mac goes to sleep. All the PC guys say, "Hit F7" but this does not bring back the Mac, so I restart PowerPoint, and then the projector does not recognize the presentation or various other mishaps and gremlins appear. The Help files with PowerPoint have not been helpful to my searches, nor have the PC guys because they don't have a clue about Macs. How I can become the smooth PowerPoint expert (manuals, books, web sites, etc.).
For a group presentation someone in our group made the whole thing using iwork. Now we need it in powerpoint to present it to the class. She does not have powerpoint on her computer. Everytime she does "export to powerpoint" it does nothing. Are there any programs out there that can convert it, or, if I have access to a computer with both powerpoint and iwork will that help?
I use powerpoint for mac a lot and like to zoom during a presentation by holding the control button and slide two fingers across the trackpad, but that only seems to work if display mirroring is enabled. If it's running the two monitors side by side (presentation view mode), and I try to zoom, it zooms way off center or way off where the mouse cursor is. Does anyone know how to zoom the right way when in presentation mode?
I have my iMac connected to a projector and i run powerpoints on it. Sometimes i want to navigate the internet and/or my computer while the powerpoint is still showing through the projector.
I gave a presentation the other day which I prepared on Mac Powerpoint. The presentation was delivered at a client's office on a Windows based laptop. I could not get the presentation to open. Is this something I should expect every time I try to open a Mac for Powerpoint presentation on a non-Mac laptop?
I've created a movie in iMovie HD (v5 I believe) which I want to insert into a PowerPoint presentation created in PowerPoint 2004. I'm using OSX 10.4.11 and have QuickTime 7.5.5 installed on my G4 PowerBook. I've exported the movie from iMovie as QuickTime --> Expert -->Movie to QuickTime Movie --> MPEG-4 Video Compression. The converted movie plays in QuickTime fine, but when I import it into PowerPoint I get a message on the screen saying "QuickTime and a MPEG-4 video decompressor are needed to see this picture. However the movie plays fine once I run the slideshow. I also tried copying a still frame from QT into Photoshop (Edit --> Copy, then paste into Photoshop) and I get the same message. How can I stop this message from occurring and show the still frame as normal in the presentation, prior to running the movie?
I've got to have a presentation done for tomorrow and only have mac's at my house now! However I will be doing the presentation on a PC with powerpoint! When you save as a powerpoint are there certain things which don't convert like changing a 2007 to older versions of MS Office? It could be a bit embarrassing if it doesn't all convert!
I've been working on a Powerpoint presentation. I saved a lot as I worked. Out of curiosity, I went into "Make a Movie" mode and didn't do much withit because Powerpoint "quit unexpectedly." I relaunched and went to open my ppt file
I have been given a powerpoint presentation (stills and music) that I want to use in a FCE project (16.9, HDV), but am having trouble getting it into FCE.
The powerpoint presentation opens in VLC (which I downloaded) and plays well on my Mac in a 16.9 display ok.
The original file is .wmv but it needs some kind of conversion to make it play in FCE.
I just got a 8 core Mac Pro at work and it has developed a nasty crashing habit. I think that I have narrowed the problem down, but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice. The machine crashes whenever I view a PowerPoint (08) or Keynote (09) file in presentation mode. In the current setup I have the presentation on one screen and my notes and information on the other screen. I am running dual 24 inch LED monitors (not mirrored) and when I disconnnect one of them, there is no crashing and the presentations work great. I have two NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 video cards.
I have installed windows xp pro through fusion 2 in my 15' macbook pro, the memory it gets shared is 512mb and the hard drive gets 40GB. Is it enough to run accounting and office softwares with total satisfaction? Secondly, can I run windows compatible program through the use of fusion 2 without running windows os everytime? Does that way save power to extend power life? Additionally, I just found that the white background color of the accounting program really hurts my eyes. Is there certain ways to make white background color look moderate to the eyes?
I am looking for a program to convert avi files to another format so I can watch them on my xbox's dvd player. My Xbox won't read the avi format for some reason.
I'm running the 24" dual 3.06 ghz iMac with an NVIDIA 8800gs, bootcamp partitioned with windows 7 (32bit) and snow leopard.
First off, I just want to say that it works perfectly well, no problems with the bootcamp software, windows 7 works like a dream (but is no mas os, obviously). The only problem I am having, however, is when I try and update my nvidia drivers.
The bootcamp nvidia drivers are fine, but I have recently been getting the general protection fault when playing mass effect - causing it to crash fairly often. To remedy this, I tried to install the latest nvidia 8800gs driver from their website. Every time I try, be it in safe mode after uninstalling the current drivers, manually or just running the executable, I keep getting the same message in the title.
I tried searching the forums for a remedy, and there are some similar cases, none I have found thus far have been able to get this working for me. I even uninstalled all the bootcamp files under windows 7, still didn't work. Is there currently some issue with the mac-model 8800GS?
I'm sure most people suffer from this but here goes.
So I make a presentation on Mac Office powerpoint, everything is fine. I open it up at university on the PC, all is fine. I maybe change some text on a slide and save it again. Open the same file again on my Mac, and it won't open some silly error comes up saying trouble accessing file from mac HD.
Then luckily I have keynote, so I just open it in that and use that.
Point is why does this happen?? Whilst keynote is better, sometimes I have to edit things on a PC at work or uni and then it becomes a giant mess on my mac.
Is there a quick fix, or will I have to throw Mac Office into my growing pile of Microsoft related garbage.
I plan on getting the new iWork '09 and will be doing a Keynote presentation in a month or two. I have been looking for those remotes to advance and go back slides...
I'm preparing for a job interview and want to put the Company's logo on my PowerPoint presentation. Simple cut and paste didn't work so how do I do it?
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I am working on a sales presentation in Powerpoint, but I want to use Keynote on my Air to polish it off and make it awesome. I am not sure if the location that I am presenting is Mac compatible, so if I wanted to use my Air to hook up to a projector to present, how could I accomplish this? If there is no way to accomplish this, would Keynote convert well with Powerpoint 2003?
i recorded a presentation with audio using ppt and now i need to burn it to a dvd. is there any way to do that w/o having to download expensive converter software?
I'm doing a presentation tomorrow (I can't bring my macbook pro). I made the presentation in keynote 09 with several of the new text and image transitions. I know I will be using a Macbook 2,1 tomorrow for the presentation. Does anyone know if all the transitions will work or would if be safer to export it as a movie file?
