I'm a iMac novice (I've moved from Windows). When I write new emails, sometimes (and ONLY sometimes), it keeps them in the outbox for indeterminate periods - up to many hours. I can still receive emails while there's one in the outbox, so it can't be a connection problem, and I've got only one account. Outlook Express has a "Send" button, and I'm regretting losing that facility with the iMac.

View 4 Replies View RelatedA "slight flutter" this morning: sending messages take longer than usual, but they're getting out; I know because I've received responses to them.
However, Mail still shows them in the Outbox, and even gives me the warning "Couldn't send with selected server."
-repair permissions?
-get a new email server?
This is odd. Any mail I compose (in the standard Mac Mail app) goes directly to my outbox, and will not send. This is only true of my desktop computer. My laptop (using the same settings) sends mail easily. I can receive mail with no problem. Connection Doctor shows that I'm connecting to the server. Port settings, etc. are the same I've used for years with no problems whatsoever. Even when I use other mail servers with which I have accounts, the same thing happens, so it's an issue specific to my Mac and my Mail app, not the mail server. I keep getting the rainbow swirl whenever I open Entourage. There are two messages sitting in my Outbox. I use a hotmail account to connect thru Entourage on my Macbook.
I have gone to Home/Library/Mail and deleted messages in the Outbox, but am still having the same problem. I've also restarted my computer, but that hasn't worked, either.
In Mail, is there a way to print the list of mail activity in a folder without actually printing each email?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf anybody can offer me advice regarding how to transfer my email from Microsoft Mail (a Vista program that is different than Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express)?
I have done quite a bit of internet searches to find an answer to this question, but so far to no avail!
Microsoft Mail on vista exports email files to a .eml file (I think) and not the .mbox files that one needs to import easily into Mac Mail.
I have a Max OS X, version 10.5.4 and the old computer was a Toshiba running Vista.
I would like to know if i can recieve emails from two of my email accounts in the mail application, and how to set it up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a Macbook for 3 years and have used Mac Mail extensively throughout where it has stored almost every email address I ever need in it's memory so that when I start typing it fills in the options of all the people with that email address. These are obviously not all stored in my Address Book.Well I just bought a new Macbook Pro (loving it!) and of course the Mail app does not have all those email addresses. Is there a way to export them from my old Macbook?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn the past few weeks, I have had major trouble in sending emails from my Macbook via the mail application (program), but I am able to receive mail fine. Any hints before I throw my Macbook onto oncoming traffic (which is also running majorly slow since the last update). I have been sitting here for about 30 mins waiting to send an email.

I used to use Mail as my default email client, but then my company insisted on me using Outlook instead. I have successfully gone into Mail > Preferences > General and changed the default reader to Outlook and that works great. This is the problem: when I cmd click on a file, I have an option to select "New Email As Attachment". This is still defaulting to Mail.

I use my Mac Mail to send my personal emails... However I also use it to monitor my work email. However, when I use my work Gmail account to send multiple messages either on my phone or on my computer through Gmail, whenever I go into mac Mail I have 40+ copies of the emails I sent. I tried to look in the setting if there's something that disables this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my Mac, I added two email addresses (both Gmail server but different "@ portions" i.e. @gmail.com and @___.org). I've deleted the @___.org email because it didn't matter whether I sent it from one email or the other, they both end up in sent items of mny @___.org email. So even replies from my [URL] address gets sent to the other email.I've deleted the other email and I'm pretty sure I didn't link the two accounts on Gmail so I'm not sure what's happening.

I am using Mail 4.5 and I am experiencing a difficulty when I am trying to create a signature adding the logo in jpeg or pdf file and send it. The recipient if is not using Mac Mail receives the signature always as an attachment. I am using rich text format message since there is no html in Mac and I drag and drop the jpg to the signature creation window. I have also activated Send Windows -Friendly attachmend but the recipient keeps receiving the logo as attached and not inline.

In Mac Mail I have a mix of POP (my main accounts) and IMAP (G Mail) accounts.
Since installing Mavericks the e mail addresses are now all lumped together (as on an iPad) and I do not want this!
how I can go back to separate addresses listed as before? I choose to prioritise my e mails and a whole lot at once is so not where I want to be! (

My apple mail version 7.3 has never had any problems connecting with my gmail account, but recently whenever I try to send an email, it goes straight to the outbox and then a popup saying "Gmail cannot connect to the server" or something like that comes up. It asks me to enter my password, and I do and then it just pops up the same error again. I have tried changing my password and made sure I am entering it correctly but it just does not work. I can receive mail fine.
