Why since I loaded Yosemite doesn't my WORD work?

All was fine until yesterday. If I click on a document file or on the word icon the splash sheet is isplayed and all stops there. When I force a quit it shows "Word (not responding)" Excel and PowerPoint are fine.
Because of software compatibility limitations (see Avid Media Composer), I need to find a download of the base Mavericks install, so the first 10.9 install. Avid will only support up to 10.9.2, so I'd like to install 10.9 and then take it up to .2.I can find the 9.2 combo updates, but not the base install.

I have a MacPro 2009 with OS X 10.9.5 installed. I just added a PCI-e card with a SSD on it. Can I install a fresh copy of OS X 10.9.5 on the SSD and use it as a boot drive too? I plan on using my MacPro for audio production and the requirements are quite stringent to be able to provide good performance. So, my hope is that I can boot to my existing HD while using Office, Safari, etc but when I want to use it for audio production be able to boot to the SSD and have nothing on it except my audio software (Cubase, Wavelab, & associated plug-ins) on the working system. I also plan on upgrading to Yosemite for my "regular" HD boot drive but leaving Mavericks on the SSD for the time being as the audio production software is not yet compatible with Yosemite.
I don't want to just move from my existing HD to the new SSD as I don't want all the associated software to be copied over as well. Just a clean install of Mavericks on the extra internal SSD. There is nothing on the SSD at this time. Only initialized. I believe I can use a keyboard short-cut on boot to tell which drive to boot from but I have not been able to find a way to download Mavericks to do a fresh install of it on the new SSD.

I have a download folder on my dock and also on my desktop. When I click it open there is nothing there. However, when I go over to the left hand sidebar of Finder and I click on the Downloads (down arrow) label it brings up all my downloads. I used to have a spring loaded icon on my dock ... now its just empty unless I press the Downloads (down arrow) label in Finder. How can I restore the original download folder that was spring loaded on my dock?

Again, please excuse me if this is dumb...Just got a new 27" IMac. I have a Dell AIO 966. I know now there is no OEM driver. But, I thought there was a Lexmark driver model (that might show up in the OX 10 install process I could substitute, or a Generic driver. So far, no luck. And frankly, some of the things I am reading when I search are either old, old posts or too complex for me.
Is the simple answer, "get a new printer?" Or, is there a usable driver loaded into OS X? Is there a thread or post that I am missing?

Ive recently downloaded a trail for the download accelerator DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) to speed up the download of a world of warcraft patch. Unfortunately, I had to delete this program when I realized that this was causing my computer to overheat due to pushing my computer's abilities through the roof. My computer has not been damaged in anyway, and i have "deleted" the program but when i still continue to try to download something it says that "DAP Plugin cannot find Download accelerator plus"; even thuogh i just deleted everything. so then i try to delete the plugin, but my mac says that "this item cannot be deleted when it is in use" but it really is not.
Can any of you help me to try to delete this plugin so i can start downloading again. After several attempts and techniques I STILL am not able to download anythinh

iMac 10.9.4 software updates last week is apparent cause of my Corel Painter X3 now crashing. I ran Disk Utility check - no probs there. I reinstalled Painter X3 (after first uninstalling X3), still no success.

The Automator integration with Word 2008 is very useful, but I've discovered a snag I'd like to find a workaround for. I'm using Mac OS 10.5.5.
I want to find and replace all the text in Word documents I create, including the footnotes, headers, and footers, but the 'Find and Replace Text in Word Documents' Automator action will only find and replace in the main body. This severely limits its functionality. Is there any way I can get round this?
I'm happy to use an Apple Script if this would do the job more effectively, but don't know the required code. I used to have this function working fine with macros in previous versions of Word, but I'm stumped by the new version.
Is there a font on Pages or something I can download (preferable for free) that is similar to Word Art from MS?

I can only get tifs from online sources by emailing them to myself. Then if I want to put them into Word some can be placed in Word by going to Insert and then choosing picture but some that doesn't work with, I just get an error message saying that doc can't be put into Word. Never posted here before, I have searched around for awhile but I cannot find any answer for this. I have upgraded to 10.6.3 from a remote drive but I wanted to perform a clean install of this software to ready my MBA for sale, I have followed the instructions for clean installing but when I get to the part where I have to select a wireless network to join, my wireless network does not appear even though I was just connected to it before restarting the MBA.
I have been trying to figure this out for over a week and I really don't want to sell it without having a clean install.
