I am getting this response from my mail .... connection to server ''p02-smtp.mail.me.com'' on the default ports timed out. This just happened first time one week ago but without doing something about it it worked out again. BUT now it is not working anymore since 48hrs. I receives emails but sending does not work.

I have migrated my Mobileme data to iCloud because my iMac supports Lion. However, my wife's iMac, running Snow Leopard cannot be upgraded (if that's the right word) to Lion so cannot migrate. She currently has a .mac email only ID through Mobileme which is functioning OK but my question is, will she still be able to use it when Apple switches off Mobileme?

When iCloud first arrived, I guess I signed up for it using my regular e-mail address. This e-mail address is at my own personal domain. I've had MobileMe and just got rid of it, essentially transferring it over to iCloud. So I now have two iCloud accounts, one set up for my personal e-mail, one with my old MobileMe stuff including my Calendar, Contacts, and Me.com E-mail (which I do use sometimes). What to do? I don't want 2, as it will get so confusing. Any way to combine? Can I get rid of the iCloud account set up to my personal domain email? Also, what about my iTunes Store account, which is set up with personal domin email?

Now that Apple offer the 60 days trial for mobileme I have decided to try it before becoming a member. Two things I couldn't figure out till now. How on earth can I setup my emails to be on MOBILEME too. Second, I am using Leopard 10.5.4 with ALL updates, but mail still can't see my @me.com email. I dunno if Apple didn't post a help for this or I just can't find it.

The AppleID of all my accounts (iTunes, ADC, Apple Dev Center, apple store) is my mobileme email (username@mac.com)
I would like to change this (using some other appleid to separate these accounts from mobileme) so that I don't need to renew my mobileme subscription. From Apple websites, I cannot do this, AppleID cannot be changed if it is a mobileme id.
How can I do? What will happend if my mobileme subscription finished? All accounts will be finished or what else?
my .mac mails stopped being received in mail on my laptop - but they were coming to my phone and available on line. I went to a genius bar, the uninstalled the account, reinstalled, rebooted and it worked......but minus the old mails. I have a backup of the mails. pls tell me how i can put the saved mails back into mail.

I moved from MobileMe to iCloud using the automated wizard. Since then, I've been unable to send or receive emails using Apple Mail.

I'm on 10.6.8, I've just moved my mobileme email to iCloud and I've always been using the @mac.com address. After my move, and updating my desktop mailbox to IMAP, I don't receive any mails sent to @mac.com, only those sent to @me.com. (And any mails sent to aliases are not receieved either.) I ask for forgiveness since now if I'm posting something that already exists and I couldn't find, but I wasn't able to find any helpful resource to fix my problem.
I've always used Mail and I like it. I have three addresses, one of the provider, the other two belongs to my personal domain. They've always worked fine.
Since two months they suddenly stopped to send e-mails. The error says there's a problem with smtp server. I tried to change smtp settings, I've edited mail settings, tried to set up another account and tried to download another app for mail: always the same problem. My mother, that has a mac too and an e-mail account with our provider, doesn't have any problem. So I tried to copy those settings on my MacBook Pro.. nothing.
One of an ongoing series of issues moving to Lion (whatta workout!). This one involves Mail and iCloud. Porting my MobilMe to iCloud has been problematic - I' ve been asked to do it three or four times, with each time being succesful when viewing through Safari. But now I've realized that the iCloud mail is not being picked up by Mail on my iMac (2009). I go to System Preferences to see if I can do something about it, but iCloud isn't there - just MobileMe.
So I click on MobileMe and (again) it asks me to move everything to iCloud. I do this and some error is generated (can't get it to replicate & don't recall what it was), and I can't sign in - it doesn't recognize my login, although I'm still currently in iCloud via Safari - clear as mud? Yikes. Bottom line: Mail can't get at iCloud mail to download, and sign-in seems broken. In 25 years on a Mac, I've never come across this level of Windows-like challenges.
