I'm on 10.6.8, I've just moved my mobileme email to iCloud and I've always been using the @mac.com address. After my move, and updating my desktop mailbox to IMAP, I don't receive any mails sent to @mac.com, only those sent to @me.com. (And any mails sent to aliases are not receieved either.) The mails are not received online on the web app either.

I moved from MobileMe to iCloud using the automated wizard. Since then, I've been unable to send or receive emails using Apple Mail.
I've sent emails to my .me account from Gmail 12 hours ago but it hasn't arrived. Sending emails from my .me account results in the following error message "The server returned the error: The server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” refused to allow a connection on port 143."

Whenever I "get mail" the bar at the bottom tells me anything up to 20 messages are incoming although only two or three actually appear in my inbox.What is happening? Am I being filled with malware? I have Mac OS X Snow Leopard Version 10.6.8. Can't receive nor send email. I have two email addresses using ATT. One address works, the other doesn't. The bad address is behaving weirdly: In Mail, in the "On My Mac" folder labeled "Recovered Messages," the contents refer to one email sent with a PDF file (19.7 MB). This email keeps cloning itself, and I keep deleting them. I resorted to deleting the PDF file from my computer. No luck. I recently changed my email addresses from AOL addresses to ATT (powered by Yahoo) addresses, in case this has anything to do with it. Have shut down computer and modem twice with no luck. The Mail Activity window is wild with activity, none of which I understand.

I have been trying to do this by moving this folder by folder by folder and I have not been having luck with this. It appears to go very slow and oftentimes it simply does not work so this mail is stuck in a local folder somewhere and i have no ability to put it in with my other mail (stored on GMail) and I cannot sort it the way I would like to.

I know there are some other threads on this, but none seem to have a definitive answer. So this issue happened on my previous MacBook Pro with Leopard and then again with Snow Leopard. Now, it's happening again on my brand new 27" iMac. Every time I restart and bring up the dashboard, my weather widget loads and then jumps down a quarter of an inch or so on the screen. How can I stop this from happening and why hasn't Apple fixed this after 2 years?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up a folder action to do the following... When a file is added to the "images" folder a new dated subfolder would automatically be created, and the file would be moved to this new dated subfolder.
Here's what I have so far (which I'm sure is way off base)
1) Folder action receives files and folders added to "Images"
2) Filter finder items - Find files where ALL of the following is true: Kind is ANY
3) New Folder - Name is "_" Where: "Images"
4) Add Date or Time to Finder Item Names: Add Date to folder name
5) Move Finder Items: This is the step that I'm stuck on. I don't know how indicate the newly created folder in step 3
Another question I have is how to make automator check to see if there's already a subfolder with the current date and put the file in that subfolder instead of creating a new subfolder with a duplicate name.

I ask for forgiveness since now if I'm posting something that already exists and I couldn't find, but I wasn't able to find any helpful resource to fix my problem.
I've always used Mail and I like it. I have three addresses, one of the provider, the other two belongs to my personal domain. They've always worked fine.
Since two months they suddenly stopped to send e-mails. The error says there's a problem with smtp server. I tried to change smtp settings, I've edited mail settings, tried to set up another account and tried to download another app for mail: always the same problem. My mother, that has a mac too and an e-mail account with our provider, doesn't have any problem. So I tried to copy those settings on my MacBook Pro.. nothing.
Is there anyway to sync the Mac Mail app and Yahoo! SBC Global server with each other? Like on the iPad, you can move files and such, and it syncs with the server. Can I do the same with my imac?
