I am looking to get TV Tuner to hook up to my Mac mini (2009). I am looking at the Elgato EyeTV 250 Plus. However, I see so many TV Tuner choices from Elgato, I am not sure if the EyeTV 250 Plus is the only one that I should be looking at. I would appreciate some input from others. My provider is Cablevision.
I looked into Equinux TV Tuners, however, I feel they are dated. Could I be wrong?
I just got a new Imac-we are both back to Apple after a trip to the dark side. We want to just have the Imac in our bedroom instead of the TV-we just have standard cable. What is the best tuner available for the Imac?
Before moving to the Mac Mini, I used a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1950 and my FIOS STB to watch tv on my HP Pavilion PC. That tuner is not Mac compatible. I'm not interested in anything fancy. My computer monitor is really large, making it useful to double as a tv, saving space in my sewing room for other toys. My wireless network is 5G and I have a Cisco E3000 router.
Info: Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3), New to Apple...sort of
Does all external network storage have to be hooked to the AEBS via USB or can it go through the Ethernet port?
I am looking for a Raid 1 capable home network storage solution for sharing media, storing home movies and if it'll work, do Time Machine backups. I've read a lot of people hooking up through USB but not much about the Ethernet port.
I got the Aluminum MacBook late 2008 version and as most should know that the macbook comes with a Mini-Display Port. Today i went to buy a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter because all my monitors at home have the DVI slot. I hooked it up and everything works fine as it should be. But next week i have a presentation to do in University and apparently my uni only have the VGA slot available, so therefore i want to know if it would work by hooking up my macbook with the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter, then use a DVI-D to VGA adapter and finally a VGA cable to the Projector for the presentation?
I have just read a ton of forum posts and want to make sure I am going to buy the right accessories to make my new Mac Mini all it needs to be to run my home theater.1. For 5.1 audio, do I need to buy this product and then just use a standard Optical audio cable to plug into my receiver?2. The new Mac Mini comes with a mini DVI to DVI connector correct? So all I will have to buy is a DVI to HDMI cable?3. Is OWC (other world computing) the best place to buy upgrades for the mac mini? I have looked at the videos on youtube and it seems like something I should be able to do no problem.
With a sharp fingernail I seem to have damages the internal ribbon cable that connects the audio card in my 2009 Mac Mini, and am looking to source a replacement, preferably in the EU. I'm currently in the UK.The part number is 922-8809.
A Google search reveals a few parts suppliers in Europeland, but they are all charging silly prices for the cable, and US suppliers impose ridiculously high postage charges.
I want to put my DVD movie collection on an external hard drive, can I leave it plugged in to my Mini and still access it through my wireless home network so I can watch on my tv?
Has anyone successfully installed a TV tuner into a 2010 MP Pro? I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a hardware+software solution for getting a U.S. TV signal on my 2010 MP.
I need a 6ft DVI to HDMI cable to connect my mini to my TV. Unfortunately these are out of stock at monoprice. Can you suggest any other reputable alternate site where these cables can be bought for a reasonable price?
I have a late 2009 13.3" MacBook, and I want to use my tv as a monitor but I wasn't looking to have 3 adapters to make it possible so I was hoping to have the Mini DVI to HDMI cable. Well newegg said this cable was what I wanted so I bought it for $20 and of course it isn't what i want at all. Where can I find the cable I want?
i recently got a new macbook pro and have a question. i used to use an HP tv tuner with my HP laptop. that laptop has since died and i was wondering if i can use the tv tuner with my mac. i tried plugging it into my usb port to see if it would "just work", but no luck. anyone have any idea if there is a way to get it to work? do i need some special software that will take care of it, or is there pretty much no chance?
Could somebody point me to the type of cable I would need to connect a Mac Mini to a standard DVI port? The Mini comes with the necessary adapter, correct?
I have two mac mini's set up side by side, and I want to connect them together with firewire so I can quickly send files from the new one to the old one, acting as a storage hd. What type of firewire cable do I need? one mini the old one has max output of 400, and the new one is 800.
I got the mini-displayport+USB(sound) to HDMI adapter. I just need a HDMI cable to plug into the adapter now. What is a cheap good HDMI cable? What kind should I get? 1.3 or 1.4? Does it matter?
I have loaded the HP driver, I see the printer in "PRINTERS" but it does not print. I am using 10.5 and the printer is using the parallel cable to usb port.
