View 4 RepliesI are disagreeing over the new MAC Mini and the two video cable connections on the back. He said it will support dual monitors and I said it is just a different type of connection for one monitor.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI am new here, and have searched, but just needed to get some input. I currently have a Macbook, but want to get a Mac mini for the desk. I would like to run 2 of the inexpensive 24" monitors independently. All I use is iWork, heavy Internet, light movies, and rarely games (would like to try Starcraft 2), but mostly work stuff. Nothing intense.
What would be the earliest Mac mini that could handle this?
What adapters would I need to run dual monitors on a Mac Mini Server? They'd both be 1920x1080 or 1200.

View 22 Replies View RelatedI have an Early 2009 Mac Mini with Mini DVI and Mini DisplayPort. And I have two 1080p HDTVs. The Mac Mini is capable of dual display, and I've gotten it to work before, so the issue is not the TV or Mac. And I have tried both Mirroring and No Mirroring.
I got a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (#5311) and a Mini-DVI to HDMI Adapter (#4852) both from MonoPrice. And for some reason I can't get the Mac Mini to dual display, it's only one or the other.
Before I had a Mini Displayport Male and USB Male AUDIO to HDMI Female Converting Adapter (#5969) and I got video on both HDTVs, but not audio at the same time b/c one was USB and one was TOSLINK.
I'm not sure why I can't get video on both monitors. Any help?
does the GeForce 6600 LE support dual monitors?
View 13 Replies View RelatedJust about to purchase the new mini and I need to buy the adapter to use dual monitors. Is it the Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter that I need to buy? I'm connecting my Samsung 24" which is dvi.
Just wanted to double check before I purchased it.
So I have a late 2009 Mac Mini hooked up to my Kuro via the mini-DVI to DVI adapter then DVI/HDMI cable to my receiver. I get digital audio out of the Mini via another cable. First question, if I were to use a mini-display port to HDMI adapter would I get both sound & video?
I love using PLEX but my Mac Mini is my only "computer" (I have an iPad). I would like to sit at my desk and use photoshop and other tools. Second question, can I do dual display using the mini-DVI and mini-Display Port jacks at the same time on a Late 2009 Mac Mini?
My gadget loving self has purchased a HP Wireless TV Connect. I was planning to use the dual HDMI output of receiver but I couldn't work on the PC and have someone watch PLEX so that is why I ask about dual screen (essentially extended desktop) using those two ports. The plan is to use a mini-display port to HDMI adapter and connect it to the transmitter of the HP Wireless TV connect and then an Apple display to the receiver. Make the main display the Apple display and the extending desktop running PLEX on that screen the Kuro.
What is the maximum number of monitors you can run off the mac mini?

I want to go cheap for a monitor but I want to know what monitors are compatible with the 10.5x operating system on the new Mini. So what have users actually tried that work?

I have a new mac mini I bought last week. I've got a mini DVI to DVI connected to a DVI to VGA adapter. I've tried to use 3 CRT VGA monitors but to no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new macbook pro that uses a mini DVI port.
I currently have an apple 30" monitor connected to the macbook pro using that mini dvi port. My wife just bought me a 24" apple monitor which also has a mini dvi connector (male). I need either a mini-DVI splitter to create two female mini DVI inputs at the macbook pro to connect these two monitors or an adapter that has a female mini-DVI on one end and a female DVI on the other. I previously had a 2nd non apple monitor connected using UV plus.

So simply--how do I plug in the 2nd monitor.
I have called apple support and searched google with no success. I fear at this point that this is not possible to do. Does anyone know of a solution?
So is the 320m capable of pushing that high of a resolution in game with highest settings (Minus AA and AF, both of which would be near lowest, shadows would also be on medium-medium high)? I ask because, before I buy one, I want to make sure I know what I'm getting. I know the 320m isn't a gaming card by any means but I'd love to crank up the settings on WoW. I also wonder if it will still be able to push near max settings (in the case that it already does) when Cataclysm comes out.

I have a 17" MBP Unibody with one external 24" monitor via the mini-DV - DVI cable. I would like to attach another 24" as well. These two monitors only have to mirror what I am doing on the screen so I just need a cheap solution.

When trying to download the software I am met with this error. Is this a known issue? I have searched the discussion board but it seems no one has answered this problem. I am tryign to download this for business purposes as we have multiple mac mini's at my job location.

Just got my new 2.8 with 5870. From the start it gave me some trouble getting it to turn on. I kept trying different plugs and such throughout the house and randomly I got it on. It was working good but I noticed that waking it from sleep the machine will click and the sleep light goes out and a red led behind the grill comes on briefly. I try pushing the power button to hear another click and the red led flashes. These problems seem intermittent and sometimes it will sleep fine. Im using 2 acer monitors connected via 2 vga-mini display adaptors.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan anyone suggest what should I do with Mac Mini 1,83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and my two new Dell monitors?I tried them using their standard VGI cables connected to a VGI port on a Mac Mini - both are dead. Not a single flicker.
My Mac bought from a trusted friend and acts as a practically new machine - but not with my monitors.
P.S. I went through several Mac-related forums and there's abundance of issues with "alien" monitors.
I'm currently using the previous generation Mac Mini as my HTPC, and I use a combination of VGA (w/ an adapter) and optical out to feed my A/V receiver. It works great, but it would be even better to use HDMI for better cable management, my receiver's on-screen display and HDCP support (for iTunes "HD" TV shows). I tried using a Monoprice HDMI adapter, and it worked, except that MacOS only allows me to enable/disable overscan completely and didn't let me tweak the amount of overscan. Couldn't get SwitchResX to work with my Samsung LCD TV after many tries. Didn't want to use JustScan either since my DirectTV receiver doesn't work well with it (and didn't want to enable/disable JustScan depending on my source). So, does anyone know if the new Mac Mini supports fine-tuning of overscan?

I have many PICT images on my hard drive that I created with Color It! and am using as textures in Poser 7. Does the Mac Mini support the HP Deskjet 1220C printer via USB? I've connected the printer but it doesn't seem to recognise it. Tried adding Printer but the Mac Mini does 'see' the printer.

I need to connect my 09' Mac Mini to my Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver which outputs to my Sony XBR HDTV. I know the mini has both mini-dvi to dvi and mini-dp to dvi or hdmi available via adapters. I was thinking to go with option 1 however I was wondering what is your opinions? Is mini-display port better over mini-dvi or are they the same? Audio will be carried over optical toslink.
Option 1:
Using mini-dvi adapter to dvi: Connect Dvi-Hdmi cable to receiver and output audio with toslink adapter.
Option 2:
Using mini-dp adapter to dvi or hdmi: Connect Dvi-Hdmi cable to receiver and output audio with toslink adapter.
im a new switcher, just had my MBP and love mac very much i interested in mac mini, and i wonder if mac mini can use dual monitor because i only see one dvi connector in mac mini?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've mini connected to 2 dell 24" LCD displays thru Y splitter (DVI to DVI/VGA). 1st display connects with DVI and the second with VGA.
Vista (bootcamp) can see both displays and it can extend the desktop to the 2nd display.
Since windows on bootcamp can use 2 monitors and OSX can't I would assume that this functionality has been disabled by apple in OSX or display driver. I know that the windows VGA driver provided by apple (bootcamp) has the dual display disabled.
Here is the question:
Where would i have to look in OSX to enable 2nd display?
i need to update my mac mini, but the apple support downloads page never loads.
