I are disagreeing over the new MAC Mini and the two video cable connections on the back. He said it will support dual monitors and I said it is just a different type of connection for one monitor.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new here, and have searched, but just needed to get some input. I currently have a Macbook, but want to get a Mac mini for the desk. I would like to run 2 of the inexpensive 24" monitors independently. All I use is iWork, heavy Internet, light movies, and rarely games (would like to try Starcraft 2), but mostly work stuff. Nothing intense.
What would be the earliest Mac mini that could handle this?
What adapters would I need to run dual monitors on a Mac Mini Server? They'd both be 1920x1080 or 1200.

I currently have an apple 30" monitor connected to the macbook pro using that mini dvi port. My wife just bought me a 24" apple monitor which also has a mini dvi connector (male). I need either a mini-DVI splitter to create two female mini DVI inputs at the macbook pro to connect these two monitors or an adapter that has a female mini-DVI on one end and a female DVI on the other. I previously had a 2nd non apple monitor connected using UV plus.

So simply--how do I plug in the 2nd monitor.
I have called apple support and searched google with no success. I fear at this point that this is not possible to do. Does anyone know of a solution?
So is the 320m capable of pushing that high of a resolution in game with highest settings (Minus AA and AF, both of which would be near lowest, shadows would also be on medium-medium high)? I ask because, before I buy one, I want to make sure I know what I'm getting. I know the 320m isn't a gaming card by any means but I'd love to crank up the settings on WoW. I also wonder if it will still be able to push near max settings (in the case that it already does) when Cataclysm comes out.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn a few months I will be setting up a booth at a comic convention and I would like to have two monitors running on the table to showcase the art. I have a 17" MBP Unibody with one external 24" monitor via the mini-DV - DVI cable. I would like to attach another 24" as well. These two monitors only have to mirror what I am doing on the screen so I just need a cheap solution.
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got my new 2.8 with 5870. From the start it gave me some trouble getting it to turn on. I kept trying different plugs and such throughout the house and randomly I got it on. It was working good but I noticed that waking it from sleep the machine will click and the sleep light goes out and a red led behind the grill comes on briefly. I try pushing the power button to hear another click and the red led flashes. These problems seem intermittent and sometimes it will sleep fine. Im using 2 acer monitors connected via 2 vga-mini display adaptors.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan anyone suggest what should I do with Mac Mini 1,83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and my two new Dell monitors?I tried them using their standard VGI cables connected to a VGI port on a Mac Mini - both are dead. Not a single flicker.
My Mac bought from a trusted friend and acts as a practically new machine - but not with my monitors.
P.S. I went through several Mac-related forums and there's abundance of issues with "alien" monitors.
I have an Early 2009 Mac Mini with Mini DVI and Mini DisplayPort. And I have two 1080p HDTVs. The Mac Mini is capable of dual display, and I've gotten it to work before, so the issue is not the TV or Mac. And I have tried both Mirroring and No Mirroring.
I got a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (#5311) and a Mini-DVI to HDMI Adapter (#4852) both from MonoPrice. And for some reason I can't get the Mac Mini to dual display, it's only one or the other.
Before I had a Mini Displayport Male and USB Male AUDIO to HDMI Female Converting Adapter (#5969) and I got video on both HDTVs, but not audio at the same time b/c one was USB and one was TOSLINK.
I'm not sure why I can't get video on both monitors. Any help?
I need to connect my 09' Mac Mini to my Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver which outputs to my Sony XBR HDTV. I know the mini has both mini-dvi to dvi and mini-dp to dvi or hdmi available via adapters. I was thinking to go with option 1 however I was wondering what is your opinions? Is mini-display port better over mini-dvi or are they the same? Audio will be carried over optical toslink.
Option 1:
Using mini-dvi adapter to dvi: Connect Dvi-Hdmi cable to receiver and output audio with toslink adapter.
Option 2:
Using mini-dp adapter to dvi or hdmi: Connect Dvi-Hdmi cable to receiver and output audio with toslink adapter.
Just curious can use both to drive the 24" LED ACD AND another 2nd monitor via mini dvi?? That would be a dream come true!
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have read over and over how many users have sleeping issue problems. The way I look at it is just leave your computer on. Mine runs 24 hrs. a day 365 days a year. I never put it to sleep. Yes you well save a little hydro but your problems will go away. When I am not sitting at the computer I turn off the monitor. I have done this for the last 10 years on the PC and since Feb.14 on my new MacPro without any issues. So in my opinion, leave your Macs on and turn off your monitors when not in use.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering what the cheapest way to go about this is. Currently my graphics card is the 8800, but I think I've read that you don't have to have the same graphics card to add more monitors (the ATI base graphics card will do just fine). So do I just need to purchase one from apple or am I able to get one cheaper from anywhere else? Also all of the supported graphics cards output 1920X1080 right? And on a side not - this output will be going to my television - is there any way to make front row default to the television output?
View 5 Replies View Relatedcouldn't find an answer so far: Is it possible to run 2x 8800GT (Apple or flashed PC) in one Mac Pro 2008? I know, SLI doesn't work but I am curious if I can run 2 monitors (e.g. for FSX in Bootcamp). Did anyone try this or is this outside the Power-limits of the PCI bus?

Every couple of days, after my screensaver has been running for a few minutes... both of my monitors will shut off. Then no matter what I do, they won't turn back on again. The only way to get them working again is to do a forced restart.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a HP 2009m glossy 20" monitor. I have a late 2008 model macbook pro (glossy). I have been having a hard time getting the colors and whites to look exactly the same. I have tried calibrating the display over and over but the whites never look exactly the same even though the default white points are the same for both the macbook pro/hp displays. Any hints outside of getting a sensor/external program?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use my MBP 09 unibody closed and attached to a large monitor 90% of the time. I'm finally changing up my entire setup because the HD TV screen I have been using to do work is hurting my eyes. I'm tryin to have a baller setup but it seems unlikely this is possible...
If I buy 2 LCD monitors (two LED apples are too expensive for me right now), can I get them both rigged up to my closed MBP, mirrored but at the same time duel separate function display? There must be some kind of adapter that allows you to run that.
Ideally I would have my left over HDTV on another desk to the left of the duel monitors as a 3rd one that I could use as a preview monitor for video and design. and/or just use it as a 3rd desktop space where I could say, show a client or friend a sample of finished work full screen, or put on a movie or run Itunes visualizer and music, all while I am using the main duel LCD computer displays to do work.
