Sep 7, 2009I have a new 2010 MBP and I'd like to hook up two external monitors to it, more specifically, two ASUS VW246H 24-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitors. Either via HDMI or DVI connections. I've found various usb monitor adapters, but i've read that many can't quite 'keep up' and I really can't seem to find a solid solution out there.
So does anyone have a dual monitor setup they currently use, if so, what are you using to connect the mini display port to both external monitors.

I would like to run 2 of the inexpensive 24" monitors independently. All I use is iWork, heavy Internet, light movies, and rarely games (would like to try Starcraft 2), but mostly work stuff. Nothing intense.
What would be the earliest Mac mini that could handle this?

Mac OS X Lion Server :: Round Robin DNS For Load Balancing Between Multiple Network Adapters
Feb 20, 2012I'm attempting to use 'round robin' DNS to load balance between the two ethernet adapters of an Xserve.Both ethernet adapters are connected to the same LAN and have static IP addresses of 192.168.2.250 and 192.168.2.251.The DNS zone for the server's local domain/host (macserver.private) has a machine record with both IP addresses (set up in the Lion Server UI).Having read up on round robin DNS, I would have expected DNS requests for 'macserver. private' to be answered with the two IP addresses ordered at random, achiving my aim of requests being served at random via each ethernet adapter.
However this doesn't seem to be the case. Doing a 'nslookup' from any of the network clients results in the two IP addresses being listed in the same order everytime. And pinging 'macserver.private' only ever results in a response from the same address.Does anyone know why this is the case? Does Lion Server use a non-standard DNS configuration? Are there any additional settings I need to configure in Lion's DNS server to make adopt a round robin approach to responding to requests?

Jun 5, 2009the mini displayport to DVI and VGA adapters from monoprice.com. I received them yesterday, and I was able to test them today with the Dell 24" LCD (1900x1200) at work, and both were able to drive the screen.They aren't quite as spiffy looking as the Apple-branded ones, but the combined total with shipping for both was a less than 1.5 one of the Apple ones.

Oct 26, 2007I'm curious if anyone has tried out Spaces with Dual Monitors yet?I'm not sure if it will matter or not, would kind of be cool to be able to specify which space goes to which monitor.....I have a New iMac with extra 20" LCD and will be upgrading to Leopard tonight, so I guess I'll know then...just wondering what to expect.

Mar 4, 2008So I was using my second monitor to run my G5 while transferring files to my new 3.2 octo, and then the past week I was using it to transfer my old PC files to my new PC. Now I finally just went to hook it up as my second monitor on my Mac Pro, and found out that I CAN'T FIT BOTH DVI CABLES TO THE PORTS!!!
They're too close together so I can fit one monitor into either port, but not both simultaneously. My monitors are the aluminum 23" ACD's w/ DVI.

Sep 12, 2009Does anyone know how to get hot corners to work on dual displays? I had a monitor plugged into my MBP 2.5ghz and after changing the relative location of the monitor in display settings, left of main screen to top of main screen, the lower left corner would allow me to access Expose for the applications in the current monitor, instead of exposing all application windows on both screens. This feature is very helpful though I cannot repeat it. Is there a certain orientation of the monitors that will allow each screen to have it's own hot corners functioning for that screen of was this just a fluke?
it would be nice to be working on one screen and watching a movie on the other without the movie expose ing when I only want to expose the applications/windows on the monitor who's corner I accessed.

As I learned in the OS X forum, I'm able to specify which programs I would like to launch in which "Space" upon boot. My question is, is VM Fusionware compatible with a dual monitor setup? As an example, could Space "1" contain my OS X desktop on both monitors, and then if I switch over to Space "2" which has VM Fusionware running with Windows, will the windows desktop span both screens as well?

Mar 29, 2010I have a Mac Pro 1,1 with a flashed ATI Radeon HD 4870 XFX. Had no problems with it ever.
Installed Mac OS X 10.6.3 software update and now the second monitor says No Input detected. Switched second monitor to first monitor and it worked fine, but the second DVI port no longer works.
Need to get this figured ASAP as I have a lot of work to do today... very unhappy with this update. Anyone else having a similar issue or have any thoughts on what to try? I've done everything I can think of.
Do I need to flash it again? Seems silly to have to flash it every time you update the OS. The video card is still recognized in System Profiler. HD 4870 with 1GB GDDDR5 VRAM.
