I have over 20 miniDV tapes that I want to edit together someday. Can I use the new capture feature in Quicktime X so that I have them on my hard drive all ready to go someday? If QTX won't do it, what about Image Capture?

In Quicktime Pro 7 I can capture either 640x480 or uncompressed. The uncompressed gives me to large files, while the 640x480 is to bad. My camera is HD 1080 and my capture need to be the same. But it have to record compressed like .mp4 or H264 or something.Â
The best way should be if I could capture for the vimeo-format without exporting after capturing. Is there I plug-in or something for Quicktime that allows me to choose the capture settings more than the default settings?

I would like to make a video with QuickTime X screen capture function. I use my MacBook 13,3" with an external monitor. The desktop is extended on the external monitor. If I try to capture the screen with QuickTime X, it records only the main screen (the LCD of my MacBook). Is it possible to capture the external monitor?

Does the new Quicktime capture on screen video with sound? If not is there a way to do it? Other good reliable programs out there that do what I am looking for?
Well today I was using the screen capture (in Quicktime X) on the 9600M GT and the result every time was that the colour was all screwed (see in attachment) I tried it on the 9400M and the screen capture was fine. I'm wondering if this is specifically a hardware issue or something that software may be able to fix. Currently, I have not ran into any other problems with the 9600M GT. Is this happening to anyone else, or can anyone else test it out to see if it happens to them?

I edited a screen recording video (shot with QuickTime) with iMovie. Added chapters but when EXPORT - USE QUICKTIME and set properites to HD format, once done (5 hours) chapters are not available in Quicktime. I read that when exporting to tiny video format, chapters are not available but here I' exportin to an HD format. I have had this problem quite a while now:When I open an .avi file it automatically opens using QuickTime. I'd like that because it's the best player for Apple.The problem is however that I can only hear the sound, there's no image/video.I use 10.7.2. I cant stream quicktime videos in safari. Every time I go to a video for example on apple.com and try to watch an iPod or Mac advert it will just tells me quicktime is required, free download. I've tried downloading quicktime 7 again but then it says that it cannot be installed because quicktime X is already installed, go to software update to install older version. Software update has no updates for me. I'm stuck, has anyone else had this problem?
I do have Quicktime X installed but it still wont let me view the videos.

Before upgrading my Mac mini to 10.6, I had installed Quicktime Pro 7. I had set up Quicktime 7 Pro to be the default app to open my .m4v handbrake video files rather than iTunes.
I just was testing some movies that I encoded last night before the 10.6 upgrade, which I did this morning.
Double clicking the .m4v file opened it in Quicktime 7 not Quicktime X. I looked in the applications folder to see if Quicktime 7 was still there but it wasn't. A quick Spotlight search and I found that Quicktime 7 (at least the Pro version) was moved to the utilities folder.
Conclusion: If you do a 10.6 upgrade install, and you have Quicktime 7 Pro, you don't have to install it from the 10.6 disc, it's just been moved to your utilities folder.

Right-clicking or double clicking the title bar in OS9 would result in the window rolling up, showing only the title bar. It's great for reducing screen clutter while still keeping the windows on the desktop (not hidden into the dock).
It's no longer in OS X 10.5. I loved that, so much that I even installed a MS Windows version of the same feature. Is there a program or hack to achieve this in Leopard?
Is it possible to add functionality to the Quickview feature in leopard so that I can view more image file formats like IFF, OpenEXF etc...? I assume it's linked to the Preview application so if that can view them then QuickView should be able to too?
