got my MBP 17" earlier this week. Enjoying it immensely.
I'm using an old mighty mouse on at the moment, however, I'm fed up of it being rubbish. The scroll wheel died moments after this things was out of the box. What I'm wondering, will a microsoft mouse work just as well? In terms of sensitivity etc? Does anyone use this set up?
I have a Microsoft Intelli Mouse( Link ) and it has 4 buttons. How do I change what the side buttons do? Under System Pred > Keyboard and mouse, the only options are to which side is Primary, and Zoom scrolling. All I want to do is set it so the left and right side buttons go forward and back in explorer, instead of scrolling

I recently connected my mighty mouse to the keyboard and changed some settings on the middle mouse button. Later I reconnected my microsoft mouse, and tried to change the settings back. Now, everything works as per usual, but my middle mouse click-drag scroll doesn't work
I can scroll by using the wheel up and down just fine, but if I try to click-drag, nothing happens. Is there any way I can fix this?
I got a free microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000 and os x isnt picking it up. i have the receiver plugged in and nothing will register.
View 1 Replies View Related im currently going into high school, and one of the things that you need is a wireless mouse with a usb dongle.Now, i saw something about the microsoft arc mouse somewhere, and decided i wanted to get that.they have it for 32$ on amazon which is a pretty good deal considering its 50 at best buy and 40 at walmart.com
but, when i was looking on best buy's website for the arc mouse, i saw that they had the mx 1100 for 30$, and it looked like one of those fancy looking gaming mouses or whatever
now, i have to choose, so im gonna ask you which one is better.i don't care about batteries.i get mine from costco, and they r super cheap. recharable would just add more hassle because i would most likely be taking from and to school every day so that little space the arc mouse has to store the dongle is defenitly a plus.
or, are there any other good-looking, good preformance mouses for less than 30$?i really don't need the extra programmable buttons, the mouse is just basically so we don't have to use the trackpads on the laptops like maybe for some basic programming or something.
It was working perfect, battery is up, re-connected batteries, etc... is there a hidden option . that screw my mouse ? I really need it back for continuing working on .psd

On my MBP, I have tried both XP and Vista and they work well. I have the Bootcamp 2.1 update installed and no missing hardware/etc. Currently, I'm using Vista64, but XP32 had the same problem.
I pair my Logitech MX900 BT mouse using the BT Control Panel applet and it finds the mouse, pops-up "installing drivers" and everything works well. In the "services" tab for the BT device, it shows a general HID mouse/keyboard.
I went to Office Depot and asked the cashier, when purchasing, if it would work for Mac. She said "yeah." Well, I'm thinking I didn't get the right info.
So now I feel like I am stuck with this. I had bought it because I was needing to open some Publisher docs sent to me, and the free trials online didn't seem to work.
I recently bought the microsoft office for my Macbook pro, but I just got a new MBA and did the migration assistant thingy. Now the microsoft office on the MBA does not work. There seems to be no uninstall option for the Office 2011.

just bought a copy of microsoft office 2008 for mac with 3 product keys, but i only have one mac, and 9 PC's. I am running Windows 7 on my Mac, and i wanted to know if i could download a free trial version of it from microsoft, then enter my mac product key for the full version. oh also i only own 2 PC's and 1 Mac that are my own computers. As a pc user looking for an upgrade and to try something different, i have now come to the crossroad on what to buy for word processing and the works. Now i have been using office 2007 for the past year and a half and have rehabilitated to the new format. Since the pc version of office 2007 will not run on a mac and i will be forced to pay $150 for the one for the mac. Which is better. I works it only $100 in Canada (going to make that clear i live in Canada) Will i miss Office 2007 or will i work be something that i will enjoy to work with.
do I simply put the windows 8 disc in my (Early 2011 edition MBP) disc drive when I'm on my windows side and install to that same partition Bootcamp Already wrote? Or do I have to go through Bootcamp again?

Every time I attempt to watch a video or Netflix, my player won't work and tell me to download the new version. I do so, and restart the browser and they tell me the same thing. I have tried deleting the old versions and emptying the trash, I have tried restarting my computer, I have no firewall up. Nothing will make them work.

Anyway, I wanted to try to get some function out of it seeing as I'm a Linux guy and a windows guy, Apple is something new to play with.My mouse no longer works with the Mac and I don't know why and for the life of me with all my experience with Win. and Linux I can't fix it. I have two that I've tried, both of them were Microsoft mouses that had worked previously but then one day they stopped. I can move around with the keyboard but the mouse is a no go. Does anyone know what I might have done to screw up a perfectly functioning mouse? I know they are connected correctly because when I plug it into the USB port the laser light comes on, problem is the cursor in the screen doesn't move.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a microsoft bluetooth notebook mouse 5000 that works well in mac osx but when I go to windows 7 in bootcamp it reports that the bluetooth hid device driver is not working and the mouse won't work.
I can get it to detect the mouse and try to load the driver but then it says that the driver installation did not work.
In device manager the bluetooth hid device has a warning icon next to it and it says that the device is not working.
When I try to use my magic mouse in windows the same error happens and it says that the hid bluetooth device driver is not working.
Both mice work fine in mac osx and the microsoft mouse was working ok in windows until last week.
Since then, my son installed a couple of games in the windows side and the mouse started acting up the following day.
