OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Connect Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Without Nano USB Receiver?

Apr 13, 2012

Being that most Macs have built-in Bluetooth connection capabilities, does anyone know a way to connect 3rd party wireless keyboards & mouses without using the Nano USB receiver? There has to be a way to do it, isn't there?

Once I have enough money saved up and can afford a wireless Apple Keyboard and Magic Mouse, I'm stuck with the GE setup that I currently have.

I have changed both sets of batteries. Turned them off and back on multiple times. Only reason I am able to ask this question is because I'm using my phone. I need my computer back. No I don't have a wired mouse or keyboard laying around. The mouse isn't registering or moving on the screen. The keyboard was working until I tried turning it off and back on. Now nothing is working.

IMac :: Magic Mouse Is A Wireless Mighty Mouse

Dec 14, 2009

My new Magic Mouse appears as a wireless Mighty Mouse on my iMac 10.6.2. When I open the mouse Preferences Panel, I get the options for the Mighty Mouse, not the Magic Mouse. It worked fine on my hackintosh with 10.5.8 but not with 10.6.2, so it seems the culprit might be in 10.6.2? It seems that USB Overdrive is the culprit for some, but I don't have it.

MacBook Pro :: Can't Connect To Internet - Using Wireless Modem To Connect To The Netgear Wgt624

Dec 27, 2007

I have a blackbook (intel core 2 duo) and I can connect to my landlord's wireless network (they have a netgear wgt624) but I can't actually use the web (Safari or Firefox will just "think"). I've tested the diagnostics and it confirms that my mac can connect to the network, but it cannot connect to the internet. The network uses WPA personal and it has a 19-aphanumeric passphrase.

*Also - would it be possible for me to extend the wireless range (and make it possible to browse the web) if I used my own 2wire wireless modem to connect to the netgear wgt624?

OS X :: Microsoft Mouse - Click Scroll Not Working

Jan 24, 2010

I'm using a microsoft intellimouse (USB to keyboard) on an iMac (late 2006), OSX 10.5.8

I recently connected my mighty mouse to the keyboard and changed some settings on the middle mouse button. Later I reconnected my microsoft mouse, and tried to change the settings back. Now, everything works as per usual, but my middle mouse click-drag scroll doesn't work

I can scroll by using the wheel up and down just fine, but if I try to click-drag, nothing happens. Is there any way I can fix this?

Hardware :: Microsoft Arc Mouse Vs Logitech MX 1100?

Aug 16, 2010

im currently going into high school, and one of the things that you need is a wireless mouse with a usb dongle. Now, i saw something about the microsoft arc mouse somewhere, and decided i wanted to get that.they have it for 32$ on amazon which is a pretty good deal considering its 50 at best buy and 40 at walmart.com

but, when i was looking on best buy's website for the arc mouse, i saw that they had the mx 1100 for 30$, and it looked like one of those fancy looking gaming mouses or whatever

now, i have to choose, so im gonna ask you which one is better.i don't care about batteries.i get mine from costco, and they r super cheap. recharable would just add more hassle because i would most likely be taking from and to school every day so that little space the arc mouse has to store the dongle is defenitly a plus.

or, are there any other good-looking, good preformance mouses for less than 30$?i really don't need the extra programmable buttons, the mouse is just basically so we don't have to use the trackpads on the laptops like maybe for some basic programming or something.

Windows On Mac :: Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Not Working In Bootcamp?

On my MBP, I have tried both XP and Vista and they work well. I have the Bootcamp 2.1 update installed and no missing hardware/etc. Currently, I'm using Vista64, but XP32 had the same problem.

I pair my Logitech MX900 BT mouse using the BT Control Panel applet and it finds the mouse, pops-up "installing drivers" and everything works well. In the "services" tab for the BT device, it shows a general HID mouse/keyboard.

I hate having anything like that plugged in, especially as my MBP has built in bluetooth. Has anyone managed to connect these microsoft mice via the built in bluetooth? OS X :: How To Reset Wireless Mouse Preferences

Sep 24, 2010

I typically use a very basic Microsoft wireless mouse (this one), but recently I plugged in a wired Apple mouse (this one, I believe).

I then decided to go back to my Microsoft mouse and now all the buttons are messed up. Left and Right work fine but now the Wheel button opens my Dashboard and the left Side button sends me into All Windows mode.

I used to have both of them programmed to 1) open links I clicked on in new tabs and 2) select and open links in new tabs in Firefox with Snap Links Plus.

I'm assuming the Apple mouse switched some things around but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get back to my original settings. I check the preferences in Firefox, Snap Links Plus and on my system but I can't find anywhere to reprogram my mouse.

I don't remember how I originally did it but I think it just sort of programmed that way automatically.

Hardware :: Best Wireless Mouse With Arthritis?

Nov 27, 2009

At long last, I have my mother dipping into the modern world, the proud owner of a new MacBook. What didn't cross my mind until I began teaching her how to use a computer is that with arthritis, the drag-and-drop movement is tough...truthfully, it's next to impossible on a trackpad unless she uses one hand to click/hold and the other to drag.

I'd love to give her a wireless mouse for Christmas, alleviating the pain and awkwardness of drag-and-drop. Need to keep it simple since I doubt she ever becomes a hard core user.

Is the new magic mouse a good fit, or too sensitive/complex for a new user with limited flexibility? Or is it actually the perfect option? Is there a better option out there? Really need your collective wisdom here.....

OS X :: My Wireless Magic Mouse Won't Scroll

Am I missing something or was this just somebody offloading their faulty mouse on me?
