MacBook Pro :: Microsoft Silverlight And Adobe Flash Player Won't Work After Update
Aug 20, 2014
Every time I attempt to watch a video or Netflix, my player won't work and tell me to download the new version. I do so, and restart the browser and they tell me the same thing. I have tried deleting the old versions and emptying the trash, I have tried restarting my computer, I have no firewall up. Nothing will make them work.
accidentally deleted adobe flash player and silver light plug in. Netflix and videos on Facebook will no longer load. I reinstalled both but it's like nothing happened neither one work. what's the issue?
I recently started getting this prompt to get Adobe Flash Player Update on my MacBook Pro with Lion. I downloaded it the first time and now it has got very slow when browsing in Safari. I read about the malware running around, and am a bit worried. I am now getting the same prompt again and wanted to see if it is legit or not to download it.
I know for awhile there was the whole flashback thing with Adobe & I haven't updated Adobe flash player since flashback. Is it safe to update now? & Is it necessary to update Adobe flash player?
I installed adobe flash player 9.0 extension for safari on my Mac OS X Lion system. The installation went well. But the web page that needs it complains that the extension is being blocked by my browser. I can't figure out why this is happeneing. I'm not intentionally blocking any extensions to Safari.
I received an update request for a new version of the Adobe Flash player this morning. I accepted it and the installation seemed to work fine. The only special was that the last 5% of the installation took some minutes to install.
Minutes later the system (MAC OS Lion) sent a warning that my startup disk is nearly full. The disk had about 150GB free disk space. When I checked it with the finder my disk space was about 350 MB and declining. I disconnected the MacBook from the internet and the the declining of the available disk size stopped.
If I check the disk information (using the finder) of the harddrive and it showed only 350MB as free. If I check the size of the folders on the top layer and add them together I should still have about 150GB of free disk space.
we all know flash is a battery eater so to prevent this is install click to flash then it will indicate every pages that runs flash has this word "flash" on webpage which is good thing.now, i am a netflix subscriber and to watch movies you have to install microsoft silverlight..i dont have any choice to install it. if i open a webpage for example cnn.com yahoo.com etc.. how can i determine that those sites are using silverlight?i believe silverlight will cause battery consumption like flash right?
IS my MAC infected with something or is this normal? I always click the red X to close the window. It just pops up once in a while. It's my understanding that it would not be wise to install flash player, so i havent. But why is there an update window that keeps popping up?
For the last month or so I've been getting pop up messages on my system that I have to update Flash Payer.
I click the link, download the installation dmg, double click the installer, 4/5ths of the way through it says it can't complete the operation. (I close all browsers etc. )
Google Chrome is running the latest version of Flash as it does it automatically (v14), but Safari and presumably anything else that uses Flash is running v13.
I have had a MacMini for about 2 months now, and use brand new Creative brand speakers to plug into it. Everything has worked fine, but this morning as I went onto a band's MySpace page I was informed that the music could not be played without installing a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. So I clicked the link and went through the installation and sure enough now the MySpace music player came up. Unfortunately, I noticed there was no sound coming out of my speakers. First, I checked each plug, but still no sound. Second, I reinstalled Adobe Flash Player for Mac (from the Adobe website), but it still didn't work. Third, I took the audio plug connecting my speakers and MacMini out and noticed that the music was playing through my MacMini, but when I plugged it back in I noticed that it wasn't coming through my external speakers. Dumbfounded, I plugged my iPod in through the Aux In on my speakers and noticed it worked perfectly fine. Finally, I switched audio cables connecting my MacMini and my Creative brand speakers and it still didn't work! What is going on here?
I have a Mac with OS X 10.7.4.I have uninstalled and re-installed Adobe Flash player several times. Each time I install it, it says the installation was successful. However, it does not work on any site we visit containing flash content.
Have big problems with YouTube playing. YouTube won't play, won't download the movie. The screen is black and in the middle is runing the circle for hours if you won't.I tried to reinstall the Adobe's Flash player, but I have the same problem. I also tried to clear all cookies, but problem is the same.
I think, that problem is realy in Flash player because once error appear, but I can't remember it.
I recently recieved the Flash Player Ugrade notice on my MacBook Pro rinning Lion and I accepted it and began the upgrade. Right in the middle of the upgrade, my nac crashed and I had to power down reboot. From that point on, the upgrade will not install and only gives a "installed failed". I went to the Adobe site and used the uninstall tool for flash, still gives error on install of any version of flash.
I cannot get adobe Flash player to install on My MBP running Snow Leopard. It Starts to install but hesitates at from 80% to 95% then finishes but does not work.

I have a macbook pro retina, mid 2013. I can use “flash player” in “chrome” but not in “safari” I've gone to the “adobe” site where it said if “adobe” is installed on your computer "x" will be displayed in this box or if it's not installed "x" will be displayed, in both instances the box was blank. I'm extremely frustrated, I'd like to “safari” but would also like to use “adobe flash player”.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
A few weeks ago, I uninstalled Adobe flash player because I thought it was causing some problems. I'm trying to install it again, but as soon as it starts the installation process, it gets pauses at "Retrieving Install" and hangs at zero. After five minutes or so, it says "Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again.
All the Adobe site says is to enable Javascript and mine is already enabled but still will not download. It always gets to be almost complete and then it says download failed and to close safari, even when safari isn't open.
