View 4 Replies View RelatedI have used 3 iMac's/Macbooks and continue to have this issue. I even had a 27" i7 with 8 gb/ram. Every time I would click or do something while a video was streaming (on Hulu for example) I would get a slight stutter in the video.I have all updates installed. I know many of you use Mac Mini's to stream media to your televisions. I don't understand why I've experienced these problems with three different computers. I suppose it may be a Flash problem? Just looking for tips. I noticed it again today when I tried to stream something on CNN.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've done a general search but am coming up empty. Is there a way to loop a video (e.g., DVD) on my Mac, but lock the keyboard to prevent others from fooling around with the computer while the video is running? I'm going to a convention/fair and would like interested people to look at a video, but not to mess around with the laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just logged into iChat and noticed the green icon is only a telephone symbol, not the usual video.
So I go into Preferences > Audio/Video and the video preview is now a white box with the text, 'This computer does not support video chat'.
It's a brand new MacBook Pro, iChat has been working fine up to this point. I re-started and still the same message.
Can you steam video and use the computer at the same time? I have a mac mini with hdmi.

My Messages preferences on my MacBook Air says "This computer does not support video chats". The camera works in Skype and my bandwith is over 30Mbps down ad 4 up.

I have a first gen MBA. It is 1.6Ghz with 2GB of Ram. I am trying to watch the NCAA tournament on MMOD and the quality is terrible. It gets so choppy and I often have to quit Safari or Firefox and even restart the computer. It usually starts off ok but after a few minutes it becomes unwatchable.
What is wrong? I am not running anything by the OS and the browser. It isn't my internet as it makes no difference if I use wireless or ethernet and my download speeds are about 10-15Mbps. I don't have any problems watching streaming on my 5 yr old Dell.
I just received my refurb 2.8Ghz 24" iMac today. I have been setting it up and transferring files to it for the last few hours. I just installed 4GB of RAM from Crucial to upgrade from my 2GB that came preinstalled. I opened Hulu and started watching a video full screen while I was working on something in the same room. All of a sudden the playing video froze and there was a loud high pitched squeal coming from the speakers and some crackling, followed by another high pitched squeal from the speakers and then the computer froze.
I know it wasn't a fan noise or a hard drive noise, it was definitely a high pitched audio tone and crackling from the speakers when it hung up. The only way I could make it stop is to hold down the power button and turn it the iMac off. I wonder if it could have been my photo collage screensaver kicking in while the hulu video was playing fullscreen that caused something to lock up? It seems like it was in the timeframe from when I walked away from the computer to the time it crashed.
Is there a way that I can use different speakers through airplay the same way as I use for music, but when watiching videos in the computer?

how I could connect my mini dv camcorder to my mac and transfer the video to the computer. My camcorder only came with cord for playback on TV and the power cord, but nothing for the computer, especially a Mac. The manual refers to a Dv cable (hURL....) and says "When using a DV cable, be sure to use the optional JVC VC-VDV206U or VC-VDV204U DV cable depending on the type of DV connector (4 or 6 pins) on the PC". Currently running Mavericks with Thunderbolt and a FireWire 800 port.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy daughter recorded something on iMovie, but she wanted to import some video she took from our camcorder. She put the video on a DVD but she can't seem to drag the video onto her existing iMovie.
I called Apple's support service and they suggested I try loading the video directly from the camcorder but they couldn't help me with that as it's not an Apple product (the camcorder is a: Sony) They suggested to put the camcorder on some type of mode that the computer could recognize????
The other suggestion they made was to get a third party application that can "rip" the images from the DVD so it can be imported into iMovie. Again, they couldn't help me because it's not their product.
I'm not very really familiar with any of these things so I was hoping someone would be willing to help me figure it.
I have been trying to send videos from my photo booth album, i've tried more than once, and various videos. But, on the receiving hand, they are not able to open it because "it's not compatible" with their computer. They do not have an Apple computer, but how could I convert the video into a file they can open and view?

My macbook pro laptop recently died and I am trying to access its time machine backup data through Finder on a different computer. In each one of my folders from different dates, however, the majority of the computer folders I would like to access (i.e. desktop, documents, dropbox, etc) have a little red "no" sign in the corner and prompt the following message when selected:
"The folder “FolderName” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents"
How can I gain permission to see its contents? As the former user, I know whatever passwords are restricting these files, but I don't know how/where to go to give permission to these folders. I've tried going into Disk Utility and changing the permissions there, but to no avail, despite successful changing of the "Sharing & Permissions" to "Read & Write" for all listed accounts.
I'm currently trying to view this on an imac OSX 10.6.8. The dead MacBook pro ran OSX

Someone at work recorded a screen capture video. Within the frame, there's good material but a lot of garbage around the edges that I don't want (what Sally Hogshead would call "screen crapture"). The good stuff lasts the entire duration of the clip, is not perfectly centered, and does not move at all in its placement or change size throughout the clip.
If I crop or trim, I can eliminate the garbage, either making it transparent or black (there's no other clip beneath it to show through) easily enough. Is there a way to then export just the desired portion of the video frame (the non-cropped good stuff) as its own video at a smaller frame size?

I listen to and watch a lot of podcasts. Quite often, after I am done listening to a Audio Podcast I will watch a video podcast. Some times it gets stuck and won't play the video but plays audio fine. Anyone else have this problem?
