Aug 31, 2010So, I'm still new to the whole Mac OS X happening, just got my MacBook about three of weeks ago (very happy with it ^__^). But, there's this little problem. I'm now using Microsoft Office 2008, and I often use Page Breaks. Previously, on the windows computer I used, I could simply press ctrl + return to insert a page break, but this is not a standard shortcut in the Mac version.
My solution - or at least, I hoped it would be a solution - was to use a custom shortcut for Microsoft Word via the System Preferences. I would like to set it to either ctrl + return or cmd + return, but it doesn't work.. However, when I try a shortcut like ctrl + cmd + down - or really anything without the return key - it works just fine. So, here comes the actual question; Is there any way to incorporate the return key within the shortcut?
Ohh, and now another problem comes in mind, I've got this Video_TS dir on my HD from a dvd which I tried to open, but when it's opened it simply 'plays' the menu. So I'm unable to actually select the option from it, and it simply goes to other part - like chapter selection - afterwards.It also plays little bits of the files, hangs for while, and skips a bit, then repeats the cycle.
Anyone familiar with it? I use VLC Player Open Disk... with the Video_TS folder option.Ohh, and the files play fine on the windows pc next to me.. I realise this last question maybe should be in another topic, or has already been answered somewhere on the forum. But I did do a search for the first one, and couldn't find any information on it.

I tried dragging all the files into iMovie, but when i click play each frame zooms in, then out, and each image stays on for about 4 seconds each D:

Apr 19, 2010Every time I try to click on something to buy in the iTunes store or even to authorize my computer or even to view my Account details, I get the error:
"We could not complete your iTunes store request. A secure network connection could not be established. Check that your computer's date and time are correct and try again."
I made sure my time and date are correct and such. I even did it on my iPhone and it gives me the same error. Anyone have a previous solution to this?
Software :: Remote Desktop Connection Not Established To PPP Server
Jan 23, 2011VPN (PPTP) in 'NETWORK' pops up: "A connection could not be established to the PPP server." PC's using the same IP address password and internet connection get in just fine. What should I check? Connecting the same way getting on the internet here at work were the PC I am trying to connect with works just fine. VPN(PPTP) connects and Remote Desktop takes me to the PC's desktop just fine. I have tried from home with both my mac laptop and imac desktop, neither will connect but PC users have no problem connecting remotely.

Software :: Iphoto6 & Idvd Have Superimposed And Distorted Images Of Photo And Video?
Nov 14, 2009problem:
1.I create a new slideshow with any random pictures
2.I click preview or play slideshow and I see a distorted image. basically it looks like two copies of the photo are laid on top of itself on the a triangular portion of the screen.
troubleshooting done so far:
1. I tried exporting to a video file to see if its just my monitor, but the file also displays the same junk image on another monitor.
2. ive turned off all transitions and effects on the slideshow.
3. Also I tried another profile.
iDVD is doing the same thing as well. Any animated dvd menu I choose ends up screw up on my screen. It appears anytime i A. use iphoto to make a slideshow or B. make an IDVD menu the video is corrupted somehow.
I will have to find an ilife disc and try reinstalling, but im thinking it might not be the application's fault.
im not sure what else to try.
This is the first time ive attempted creating a slideshow on this machine so i do not know if it has ever worked before in previous iphoto versions.
note: I would like to fix this problem and not bypass it with another program.

Apr 19, 2012I've mitigated my profile from my older iMini to my new iMini. Everything worked out fine but I've noticed that [on the new imini] I have to input my password twice. Once I log on and input my password, my profile comes up and ask me again to input the password. I also have a unsecured startup deice/item (display) message displayed once the system comes up. Can I create a new profile and basically move all my documents over to the new established profile.Â

The problem is the only way I can put music on the site is if i drag the mp3 file to the page. After putting 15-20 songs on the page, it takes a very long time to load the page because of all the files. I would much rather host the songs on another site such as imeem.com and place the music player on the page. it would make the page load very quickly, as well as let the visitors hear the music.

But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!
