ITunes :: Transfer New Apps From Iphone Without Replacing Apps Don't Want?
May 10, 2012When you sync your iPhone you sometimes get the following message:Â
Itunes has found purchased items on the iphone thats arenot present in your itunes library.Â
There are two reasons for this:
1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.
2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.Â
So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

Jun 12, 2012I have a new-to-me MacBook (running Lion) and I just downloaded all my music into iTunes. I had been sync'd with an old PC laptop previously. If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking). What's the best way to have my music sync with the MacBook without having to reinstall my apps?Â

Dec 5, 2014I was looking to access the file sharing functionality of one of my apps (AV Player HD) in iTunes 12 and wasn't able to find out where or how to do this in the new version.Â
After a bit of searching on the internet I gathered I needed to select my device (iPad in this case) from the devices drop down, then on the left hand sidebar under the menu heading 'On My Device' I should see "Apps" listed there along with Music and Movies etc. I have:
Music
MoviesTv Shows
Books
Audio
Tones
and then some music playlists..That's it. So my questions are:
1. where is 'Apps'?
2. how am I supposed to access file sharing on AV Player HD if I can't see this menu item?Â

Apr 3, 2009I finally got my brother to switch to a Mac. I'm setting everything for him, but I want to know what will happen when I plug his iPhone into his iMac. Will iTunes download all the apps off of his phone or will it delete everything from the phone? I've transfered all his music into itunes on the Mac. Can I just go to the iTunes folder on his PC and copy the apps folder to the Mac iTunes folder?

Apr 11, 2012So I have 102 apps that can be updated via itunes. When I go to update them they start downloading like normal. When they finish downloading the app, the update is not applied and still shows as an update available for these apps.This happens even if I try to select just one app. I have already tried logging out of my itunes account and rebooting my system, but it hasn't fixed this problem.

Jun 28, 2012Trying to set up his mac with all the stuff on the family mac we've been sycing his iPod Touch to. Music and photos are no problem. I was surprised to learn that through home sharing I can simply copy iOS apps to his mac. I really didn't know this, and bring it up here to pinch myself and see if it is true that I can have the same iOS apps on more than one mac as long as they're all on the same iTunes account. Thing is, the apps only show up under home sharing on his mac in my user account (an administrator account) and not on his account (a non-administrator account). Is it because my account is a administrator account? The iTunes account is the same on both.

Dec 7, 2014in the past I was able to add files to apps on the iPad (who offered that option) via the Apps tab on the device and then selecting "add files". The apps menu has disappeared from iTunes 12, so is there still a way for me to load documents into the app via iTunes? Or did Apple just break the ability to move files and out of apps on iOS?

Aug 28, 2014A few days ago iTunes started to crash when updating some apps. I have about 25-30 apps to be updated. When I click update all, it started to downloadin
apps but when it came to a certain app, it crashed. It starts to download the app, continue downloading for a few seconds, than freezes and crashes. This happens in more than 5 apps. Other apps in my library downloaded without any problem.
I tried almost everything, deleted the iTunes folder completely, tried to download the same app, and it crashed again.
Finally I formatted the iMac, installed a fresh Mavericks, immediately opened iTunes tried to download the same apps, they all crashed. Could the files on the Apple's servers be corrupted?Â

ITunes For Mac :: Rearrange Apps On IPhone?
Aug 20, 2014I think I used to be able to plug my iPhone into my iMac and, via iTunes, be able to click on the icon for my phone, then choose Apps across the top and when the screen opened showing my apps on the various desktops I had built, I could click on the apps and move them from one desktop to the other, and rearrange their order. Now, in iTunes 11.3.1, when I click on the app and try and drag it, the whole desktop moves. It is easier to rearrange them via iTunes on the iMac vs doing it on the iPhone as you can make the app icons bigger, which makes it easier to see them.Â

Dec 7, 2014I moved my iTunes library to an external HD in order to free up space in my computer. Unfortunately, that HD is unreliable, so I'm moving things to a new HD. The catch is that I discovered that iTunes has been syncing music to the unreliable external HD but syncing iPhone apps to a separate iTunes library on my computer that I didn't know about until today. How do I get the apps into the external HD's library (so that I can then move it all to the new HD)?Â
I tried consolidation - apparently that only works in regard to music, movies, books and other media, because it didn't move a single app.
